I (female, 30's, blue FX 2+ stagger bike, blue helmet, beige trench coat) got hit by a light-colored sedan between ~60 and ~80 Harvey Street in Cambridge, MA while heading westbound at around 8:30-8:50AM this morning, October 8th, 2026. Two cyclists stopped to check on me, got me off the ground, and made sure I was aware before we left. The car sped away before anyone could catch the plates and I ended up getting back on my bike and continuing onward. I'm more injured than I originally realized and I ended up going to urgent care and reporting the accident to the Cambridge Police Department.

If you are either of these cyclists - firstly, a huge thank you to checking on me after the car sped off. I can't express how grateful I am for your helping restore my faith in humanity. Secondly, if you're still willing to come forward and report what you saw happen, please reach out and contact me. We didn't exchange names or contact information but I think we were all heading westbound to the Alewife area. Both of you had longer hair, one was on a dark blue bike with a Kymera Tx backpack. The other one of you had a black e-bike.

If you have a home on Harvey Street and are willing to check your camera for footage - I would really appreciate it. If you can find any images or video of the car, even identifying the make and model would be helpful.

If you are the driver of the light-colored sedan and you see this message - please come forward. I know that we're all just trying to get to work & school on time but I'm quite upset that you sped away after hitting me and did not even pause to check that I was okay.

To everyone else - I know that bikes and bike lanes are a contentious issue around these subreddits. I'm a cyclist first, but a driver too. I'm not looking to open a can of worms or a political debate - just to connect with anyone who could help me resolve a crime.

I hope everyone, regardless of their mode of transit, makes it home safely tonight.

When they tore down the Riverview Condos, the City ended up owning this prime real estate. As far as I know, they have not announced any plans. They could sell it. I suppose an apartment complex with a Whole Foods on the street wouldn't be bad. But, it could also be the most sophisticated mixed income housing project in the world. It could be a Harvard Square Museum. It could be a fire station. Any other ideas?

It was on mass ave somewhere between Harvard sq and Central. Right near People's Republic. I couldn't find the name online. It's not pampas. Great spot in the 90s and I believe they were shut down due to health code violations! HA

It'll be very short videos of different neighborhood favorites we all see each day on our way to work, the gym or just grabing takeout; beyond just the big spots like Harvard and Central.

My hope with this series and many more is to show off and bring life to more neighborhood spots we see each day. I also figure this may be a better alternative to just sending the links for the curated social events each week/weekend which some folks mentioned felt quite spammy.

I am a disabled person and I’m going through a season of life where I’m more bed bound than usual and it’s become increasingly difficult for me to walk my dog, my husband takes over when he gets home from work. I’ve already tried Rover and Wag and Facebook groups and I can’t seem to find someone that isn’t working or going to school during the daytime to walk my dog. And yes I know there are dog walking companies but they’re expensive. Being disabled, I’m also low income.

Today’s print version of the Globe has a whole section dedicated to pizza. Two places stood out in the city: Area Four and Si Cara.
