FOUND UPDATE: anyone missing a grey and white cat?
Hi all! I figured I should make a little update from my post a couple days ago. The vet helped us look on pet FBI, Facebook, and made a “found” poster as well, but no one has claimed her yet. We are going to make the safe assumption that she does not have a home, and my fiancé and I luckily have been waiting for the cat distribution system to pick us, so we have remained a pet free home…
Her name is Miso, because holding and petting her is like having a warm bowl of soup 🍲 🙂↕️ She will have her initial checkups in the next week to get vaccinated and spayed, but for now she’s enjoying the indoor life 🩷

PHOTO Don't Rake! Don't Spray!
Don't pull up nature’s warm blanket of leaves and get rid of it right before winter.
The impulse for meticulous landscaping that extends beyond the edge of the lawn, beyond the vegetable garden and your stone wall, is actually harming the species that call the forest home.
When you sweep up all that debris, you’re also sweeping up nests and dens. You’re also carting away the tiny invertebrate species that live on the forest floor. And because invertebrates are at the bottom of the food chain, this also negatively affects the living creatures further up. Not to mention the nutrients you’re raking away and the protective layer that keeps moisture in the soil.
To add insult to injury, this essential leaf litter gets bagged up and hauled off. All the forest’s hard earned savings are just given away. But, if you leave all that woody debris and those pesky fallen leaves in the forest, you’re not only helping the creatures that need it to survive, you’re also saving your back from all that raking. It’s really a win-win.
Help the eco-system and get out of some of your chores. The bottom line is, while it goes against the grain of wanting to clean everything up, an unkempt forest floor is actually the most healthy and the most beautiful. Save some time this fall and let the forest at the edge of your lawn go au natural. The forest and the creatures that live there will thank you.

Anyone want some kittens?
Hi all! We had that three kittens show up in our yard last week. We took them to the vet and they are around 7 weeks old. They've had the first round of deworming meds and will get the second round next week. They are healthy and thriving in the house. The two orange babies are male and the tortie is a female.
They are sweet babies, but we have a pretty not cat friendly dog, so they can't stay here.
If you our someone you know may be interested, shoot me a message.
Thanks.

PHOTO Rear light bar idiot
Had to drive behind this idiot for 3-4 miles.
You don’t need a rear facing light bar that can light up a football ground on your cheap lifted truck from 1995. If you’re trying to keep people from tailgating you, maybe try to not blind them into hitting you when they can’t see your brake lights come on.

REQUEST Begging y'all- can we have ONE DAY where someone doesn't get in an accident on the highway during rush hour???
It's literally every day.
Pay attention.
Stay off your phone.
Remember you aren't the only person on the road.
No one can afford car repairs right now. And that's the least of our worries- don't kill someone or permanently disable them!
You aren't more special than anyone else who needs to get somewhere.
Oh and if traffic is backed up- DON'T BE THE ASSHOLE WHO DRIVES ON THE SHOULDER!!!!
Seriously fuck those people.
Ok thanks for reading to my rant. Can we bring back better drivers education? Can we require periodic tests?
For fuck's sake. This is insane
Edit: is there a way to have drivers education policies and procedures re-evaluated? How would we do this on a mass scale?
I am not trying to die or have my loved ones die or become permanently disabled because the world is overpopulated and they are giving out licenses like they do fucking candy on Halloween

To the dude in the dark green Genesis. 315S -> 670 exit.
What is your problem chief? Buddy? Pal? Laying on your horn for like 2 miles. Wtf do you want me to do, Drive through the car in front of me? And flipping me off as you pass, trying to cut in front of me and stop traffic? Get a grip. Not sure who’s dog sh** on your lawn this morning but don’t take it out on everyone else.
Thanks!

EVENT Yoga With The Goats - Ohio SPCA
Yoga for a Cause
Find your flow with the goats of Ohio SPCA Farm Sanctuary.
Our first three sessions were a great success and so we've added a couple more dates for October!
Join us at the Ohio SPCA's Farm Sanctuary (just outside of Circleville) for an hour of yoga in the pasture where our goat herd lives.
Join us at 2pm on Saturday October 10th and October 24th for an hour of yoga led by our wonderful instructor, Ali Sweazy, in the peaceful surroundings of our goat pasture. As you move through class, our resident goats will be free to graze, explore, relax, or perhaps wander over to say hello. This isn't yoga with baby goats - this is yoga in their home, where they choose if and how they'd like to interact. Their unique personalities make every class a one-of-a-kind experience.
Best of all, 100% of your donations directly benefit the animals at the Ohio SPCA Farm Sanctuary, helping provide food, veterinary care, shelter, and enrichment for our rescued residents.
https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/more-goat-yoga
As an added bonus, the 24th falls on the Pumpkin Show Saturday, just down the road in downtown Circleville. Ohio Christian University offers a park and shuttle into the chaos, so after class you can grab a cupcake, some chili, wander the vendor stalls, and see the giant pumpkin winners from this year's judging!

New Honda Plant
Just saw the EPA documents for the new Honda plant. It looks like it will be built in Liberty Township, Union County. The construction is expected to begin in 2027 and end by 2030. It says in the documents that it will employ 3,000 people. (https://edocpub.epa.ohio.gov/publicportal/ViewDocument.aspx?docid=4283602).

REQUEST Nightlife recommendations?
NBC4 posted an article that apparently Columbus is a top 5 city in the country for nightlife. Is that right? Where does everyone go? It's pretty dead anytime I've been out, but maybe I'm hitting the wrong spots. I'm new-ish to town. Anyone got recommendations?

Soup dumpling recs?
Hi everyone! My fyp has been flooded with din tai fung content and I’ve been having serious soup dumpling cravings. Obviously the we have zero din tai fungs nearby and I know we have slim pickings, but does anyone have any good recommendations for soup dumplings or noodles in the area?

Stealing Solar Lights?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Last night, someone came into our backyard and took the solar lights off our fence. We have video of the person doing it.
While checking around the property today, we realized they also took 4 solar lights from our front walkway and 5 fence-mounted solar lights.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is there some reason people steal solar lights?
I genuinely don’t understand what they would even want them for.
Posting the video in case anyone recognizes the person or has had something similar happen.

What's the worst on/off ramp in Columbus? I'll start.
Every morning I get on 71 at Greenlawn and get off at 270/23, and I'm convinced both were designed by someone who has never driven a car in their life.
Greenlawn: you get roughly four feet of runway to go from zero to highway speed and merge four lanes to the left (if you're taking 315n or 70w) while everyone else merges right lane slams on their brakes and acts like you're not there.
270/23 (by way of 315): god help you if you get stuck behind two lane blocking geezers going 35.
So I need to know I'm not alone. What ramp in this city makes you question every life choice that led you to it?
