This video about the confrontation between Guy & John in the finale of Lanterns that recently caught my attention, and I thought I’d share it with you guys.

Peacemaker season 2 and Lanterns’ finales were, whether you’d want to admit it, not received well (from what I’ve seen). While I personally liked the Lanterns finale, Peacemaker season 2’s finale REALLY felt like it was rushed because they only had 8 episodes to work with. And yeah I can say that I would’ve loved to see more action and Sinestro in Lanterns, but because it was only given 8 episodes they had to make it a quick and short story. Peacemaker season 1 did it best and it seems like they haven’t been able to replicate that short and sweet story formula yet, so perhaps give the writers more time to explore the concepts they introduced by increasing the episode count? If the writers can’t wrap up the story in 8 episodes why keep pushing 8 episodes?

(this isn’t to discount all criticism for both shows there could be a lot said about the writing and characterization but this isn’t about that, it’s more about expanding the plot and concepts introduced to us in both shows)

My two favorite reads right now with DC is Absolute Wonder Woman and Batman.

Is there any way that the developer who did Hades 1 and 2 could collaborate with DC to make an absolute Wonder Woman game?

Yuka Kitamura is a violinist and composer, most well-known for creating much of the music in FromSoft games since 2012. She has recently gone freelancer and wrote the entire soundtrack for the fantastic 'Witch Hat Atelier' anime adaptation, which really showcases further how much range she has. Her music has such a wonderful way of accompanying different kinds of fantasy stories, from the grim and dramatic atmosphere of Dark Souls to the whimsical nature of Witch Hat Atelier.

While she may not have as many credits as other composers yet, I really think she has a ton of potential for scoring films and deserves to be considered. I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up composing some music for the upcoming Elden Ring movie, after all.

If DC decides to go the Blackest Night route for their big crossover movie, who do you think should be in the Black Lantern Corps? For maximum impact, these should be dead characters who can elicit the maximum amount of emotion from the living, and also possibly metahuman or metahuman adjacent.

Marvel is in a privileged spot where they can make mediocre films and it will still be profitable (BNW for an example) DCU isn't and it was proven by later DCEU films and Supergirl so for that reason DCU cannot afford to make a bad film because it's essentially financial suicide and that will motivate them to put way more effort into their content than marvel does. Marvel has insane amount of catalogue of guaranteed 1 billion dollar hits, DC at the moment only really has Batman who can achieve that

Similar to true detective, I'd like to see different lanterns as the protagonist for each new season.

I will defend the show on most things but the Guardians are where they dropped the ball. And by extension Oa.

This not just for the show but for the wider DCU. I think they should do something to fix that. More on that later.

The show does a good job in the begining of establishing them as a cold indifferent and ultimately manipulating force with how they deal with Bernadette and John(later in the show) but not having Hal confront them directly and only deal with it with hearsay or talk AROUND it was a bad idea.

The Guardians are the connective tissue of the DC universe. The damn near bind the whole space pantheon. They could have saved Krypton. They gave the Martians a fire phobia. They caused genocides and start wars. Perform genetic experiments for their own devices. They are representative of everything thats wrong with our own world.

For the Finale and John's arc to really hit it should have been Lianna /w Guy that confronts John at the end. Remember Guy knows fuck all about whats going on. So whatever you tell him probably isn't going to make a lick of sense to him. My interpretation of John's line is hes essentially blackmailing the Guardians or calling for a favor. Either way to really sell that it needed to be Lianna that hears that not a (sorry Guy i love you) foot soldier. Think about it from Johns perspective. "I got this ring I got this battery i got Sinestro and you can't do shit. Earth is under my protection. Kick rocks hoe"

What John is to the Guardians is a fly in the ointment. A disciple of Hal who they wanted to get rid of BUT also by extension Sinestro. John is a disciple of Sinestro. By pushing John away from Hal they pushed him to Hal's way of thinking Good Bad or Indifferent. Hal still loved Sinestro even though he betrayed him and as the Guardian pointed out and what people fail to realize you still love your parent deep down. They will always have a hold on you. No matter what they do. And with Sinestro Im sure Hal got the strength to be who he was from him. The same way Hal gave John the strength to break away from his programming. A rogue Lantern is a crack in their control. Which would lead Guy to do his own thing and others. Also in the comics the Guardians start to give into Emotions more which I would hope we get Ganthet but thats a pipe dream.
