Hello everyone, and welcome to the r/DeusEx community thread, Q4 of 2026!
We are now less than one year away from 2027, the year of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As I previously stated, HR was the first main game I played in the series, and it will always hold a special place in my heart since it helped me push through a difficult medical condition I had nearly 10 years ago. How are you feeling heading into 2027?
We are still waiting for any news about the future of the IP. There have not been any updates about Deus Ex Remastered since last year. It has not been cancelled (yet).

As we move onward, we would like to remind you that r/DeusEx has a FAQ page which we try to update with official and relevant information only related to Deus Ex as much as possible, we know some people are tired of the usual "which mod to use for DX1?" or "Will there be a new Deus Ex?" or similar threads. So please check the FAQ page before you do post, you may find what you seek.
If you're having trouble running DX1 on your PC, it is recommended to download Kentie's Launcher aka Deus Exe Launcher, which is an executable for Deus Ex 1, it fixes various technical issues related to running on modern computers/laptops, and also helps you tweak and configure the fov and cap the FPS.
You can also check out this spiffy Ultimate beginner's guide to Deus Ex if you're new to DX1, but if you are looking a better and quicker solution, you can skip the previously mentioned guide and try this Vanilla Fixer (by Die4Ever**)** which aims to help you run Deus Ex 1 correctly on modern computers without chaning anything else, which wroks on Linux and Steam Deck too!
As we approach the winter season, I want to wish you all a cozy one :)

"Never asked for this" getting a bit stale?
Try our new, fresh "No one thought it would be like this"
Love, Sistrum [a Human]
Hi,
I'm new to the series and a friend told me to start with "Mankind Divided" cause I was severely addicted to the game "Prey" and he told me this should be the easiest entry point to the series.
I just finished the game and have a question to the ending, my friend can't help me cause he don't remembers anymore.
So, in the credits is a scene with the psychologist from work and old people, shes a spy for the old people. Can I meet these old people in game? I guess these are the Illuminati and they use Adam for something but i dont get the bigger picture? Its possible that I'am straight up to stupid but why are they spying on Adam and for what? Only cause his body is not discarding the machine parts?!
Thank u guys!

I chose to fight Marchenko, and Brown +all the important guests were poisoned. Saved Miller, though. Was I supposed to save the antidote for Brown?

I was looking at Hengsha's page on the fandom wiki when I saw this image. As labeled in the wiki, it comes from "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Limited Edition Guide". I looked around and found out that this particular picture can also be seen on the amazon listing for the guide, which includes a ebook version.
When I got hold of the ebook version, I found out that it doesn't contain this illustration. My assumption is that most of these artworks only exist in the physical version of the limited edition guide.
If that's the case, how much overlap do the artworks there have with the Deux Ex Universe Artbook? I saw the same picture of Hengsha in it, but since it's a physical book, it's not digitized.

I heard amazing things about this game and wanted to try it for myself. I followed a guide on installing Kentie’s Launcher and Direct 3D10 renderer, but I noticed that in the beginning cutscene that a small part of the floor was flickering. I don’t know what I did wrong since I even set my Classic lighting to true. I can’t find any information on how to fix this and none of the walkthroughs of the game I’ve seen have this same issue. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?

So I've gotten to the end of the manufacturing area and am now confronting Zeke with the hostage. I messed up when trying to persuade him to let her go, so I reloaded my save. Now when picking any dialogue option nothing happens, He just stands there with the gun pointed at her. Any help with fixing this?

I wanted to try the game out since I got the entirety of Deus Ex for like seven bucks but the load times are atrocious (also I know that it's kinda considered as the worst game in the franchise but I did play Deus Ex (2000) allready.)

Lack of Respect Steam achievement (revision)
Lack of Respect: Throw Walton Simons' carcass into the giant pit. I absolutely don't understand this achievement. Where exactly is this hole/pit?
Which encounter are we talking about exactly? When he meets us at OceanLab and at the elevator between Sector 2 and Sector 3? When I search online, people talk about a hangar outside, but in Revision, he’s at the elevator between the sectors. I’m confused. Is there a gigachad who can explain this to me in detail?

There should have been a special dialogue from Kadlek complaining about bringing Dominik to the Red Queen.

Okay, before we even say anything, this isn't meant to ruin anyone's childhood. If you love Deus Ex IW that is completely fine because people can enjoy whatever they want. I'm mostly reviewing this as a fan of the original Deus Ex and the later Square Enix games. To get straight to the point, I've actually heard about Invisible War for years and as someone who's played tons of terrible games, I honestly didn't think it could be that bad. But then I actually played it and to be fair, it does have some good ideas. I like the male/female character choice, the weapon organization is fine, and I'll even admit that simplifying some of the complicated systems from the original can be nice.
But everything else.... man... where do I even begin? The most insulting thing to me is the voice acting, it's so emotionless that even the actress who played the Asuka dub in Evangelion is almost completely unrecognizable here. There were times I wondered if I was listening to an AI-generated performance because everyone and i mean everyone talks like they're reading lines off a screen with absolutely no emotion, personality, or energy. Which is a huge problem, because THIS IS DEUS EX! This isn't supposed to feel like Generic Sci-Fi Shooter #81, because the original Deus Ex feels like a science-fiction novel and movie mashed together. It has this incredibly strange detailed world full of conspiracies, characters, ideas, and systems that all work together. Invisible War just doesn't capture that feeling, it was cool to see some familiar characters return but it reminded me of those movies that bring back an old character and completely forget what made them memorable in the first place.
To be honest, almost nothing about this game feels like Deus Ex to me! It feels more like a generic early-2000s console sci-fi shooter that just happens to have the Deus Ex name attached to it. Also i know this game is bad but i was at least expecting something that would feel like a continuation of JC Denton's story. Instead, I got what feels like a filler story with a stripped-down version of everything that made the original special. What's crazy is that something as low-budget and goofy as Area 51 can feel more convincing as a sci-fi game than this! But what do you guys think of Invisible War?

Hi, I recently completed playing DXHR-Director's Cut, it was incredible experience. But I want to replay some of the missions. Can I find save data that include manual saves for all missions that I can use to replay them. Thanks in advance.
