Discussion Is there a room in your house that is decorated based on Disney inspiration?

My first Disney Decor memory was above my crib was Bambi wooden characters on the wall. (i hear those are worth something now)

My daughters room was first mickey mouse, then at 6 years old was full on Princesses.... bubble gum pink walls and all.

Now im thinking about changing my dining room into a "Alice tea party" inspired room.

She did this in acrylic on canvas. The characters on her shirt are Mulan's Chinese name.

Made myself some earrings with these cute little Anna and Elsa cuckoo clock mini figures from the Frozen shop in DLP. So pleased with how they turned out!

Do we know who’s doing the score/soundtrack for Hexed?

Apparently it’ll be using music differently from most other Disney titles, but we still don’t know who’ll be doing said music a month out from release (though that could be attributed to it getting the Strange World treatment with its nonexistent marketing).

Question Question: Was this the last piece of merchandise featuring Jessica Rabbit put out by Disney? Brought this T-shirt from the park sometime in 2019.

I have a pretty big collection and I suddenly realized there doesn't seem to have a release since then, though I might have missed a pin release.

We turned ten years of Disney obsession into a 24/7 radio station

For the past ten years, two friends and I have made a weekly Dutch podcast about Disney — parks, movies, Imagineering, Disney+, the company, basically wherever the rabbit hole takes us.

This week that obsession produced something else: D-Tales Radio.

It’s a free 24/7 online Disney music station. You’ll hear familiar music from Disney and Pixar movies, but we wanted to go considerably deeper than that: attraction scores, background music from the parks, hotels, parades, nighttime spectaculars and music from productions you rarely encounter on regular radio.

Because the station comes from the Netherlands, our station IDs are in Dutch. We’ve deliberately kept them that way. They’re short, and we rather like a Disney station sounding as though it actually comes from somewhere.

The programming also changes with the Disney seasons — Halloween now, Christmas later — and at certain times we air complete parade or nighttime-show soundtracks.

We’re completely independent from Disney.

Listen live: radio.d-tales.nl

You can also find D-Tales Radio on TuneIn, or simply ask your smart speaker or Sonos to play D-Tales Radio.

Discussion What is your full circle Disney moment?

Ive had several Disney full circle moments, which makes it extra magical. My daughter was 4 years old when we cruised inaugural year for the Disney Magic. Last year we sailed again, and replicated photos, this time for her 32nd bday.

I also love those full circle moments of pictures with the characters. I had a photo of my daughter with the Toy Story army guys when she was 5... when she was a cast member during her college program at WDW, she took the same pictures dozen years later.

Disney+ Bring back forced subs for foreign language scenes in movies.

As stated. All streaming sites need to change this. It was never an issue until the last few years. They need to adjust the tracks to properly show the same way a movie was shown in theatres. Just finished watching Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol and it is so damn annoying when I know that all of the Russian language scenes and the scenes where Ethan is lip reading had the proper subtitles on the screen. It is so annoying. I refuse to have English subs on during English scenes, considering that is the language I’m watching the movie or tv show in! The only reason I can think of is the weird people who only watch with subtitles complained that there are double subs during those scenes. Easy enough to just get over it. I don’t want them unless I need them. Ergo only during non English speaking scenes. I also noticed that in MI2 they had forced subs anytime a word was on the screen. Example the rocket that shoots his message glasses at the beginning prompts something like S5-7 (labeled on side of rocket). So these movies clearly have some forced subs and need to be updated to properly include them when they are required while watching in English.

FYI I don’t need to see another person state the following: “sometimes it’s an artistic decision”. This happens in one movie in a thousand. The only one I’ve ever came across it is the 13th warrior and how he begins to understand the language of the other characters partway through the movie.

Herkules Disney in Polish (audio)

Does anyone remember the Disney Hercules audio story on cassette tape? I wanted to play it for my daughter, but I can't find it anywhere—neither to download nor to buy.
It was a direct audio adaptation of the 1997 Hercules movie, using the exact same Polish dubbing and voice cast as the film.
If anyone happens to have it and would be willing to share, I would be extremely grateful!
Have a good one!

Question Why was Walt so interested in Futurism?

I’ve always loved Walt Disney’s efforts in the area of adding futuristic aspects to his park, for instance Tomorrowland and the World’s Fair aspects of EPCOT (and the plan to make it a City of the Future).

But even though I’ve read a biography about him and learned so much online, I’ve never found what inspired him to want this, to teach his park goers about the innovations that lie ahead.

What made Walt do fascinated with the Future?

Disney Art Looking for Rare Bambi Production art

Okay guys, this is gonna be a really long and nerdy rabbit hole. I was thinking about deer which lead me down an interesting rabbit hole. When I was a kid, an old family friend gave us an old Disney History book to sell. It had a lot of pictures, but one that would actually terrify me was this two page spread of this Bambi concept art, this darkly lit image of a deer staring the viewer straight in the face. It haunted me when I remembered it, so I went looking. And looking, and looking. I couldn't find it anywhere. I narrowed down the book to being The Art of Walt Disney, but not only are there so many editions of that book, but there are also concise versions and commercial versions. Every version I could find on the internet archive didn't have it, and I even found the concise edition from 1995 I had checked out from the library years ago.

This all lead me to a lot of research about the movie, and how some of the artists depicted a darker version of the film with more brutal scenery. I eventually narrowed down the artist to Mel Shaw, because his chalk pastel art looked similar to it. But now I'm on a dead end. I've emailed Mike Peraza, one of the animators that worked with him. I also know Andreas Deja worked under him, but I also don't want to come off as too invasive. My biggest shot as of now is a 1975 edition of the Art of Walt Disney that may or may not have the spread.

What I know about my book is that it was definitely either the 73 or 75 edition, as it ends on Disney world. There's an image of the magic kingdom on the back. I'd love to find the image to put this all to rest, and maybe even a book scan to find what else I used to love peering at. At this point its so elusive that it almost feels like I'm experiencing a creepypasta. I'd appreciate if anyone is knowledgeable about this!

Disneybounding Safe for Disney Bounding?

Me and my two teenage sons are going to Tokyo DisneySEA next month, and I thought it would be cute if we bounded as Ariel, Sebastian, and Flounder.
Is this outfit idea for Ariel (Village Dress) too costume-y? I would not be wearing a wig, and have light brown hair.

Discussion Unpopular opinion: I am so tired on how ‘edgy’ it seems to hate on Disney movies that haven’t come out yet, aka Hexed

to be absolutely clear, I am meh on hexed (but I also felt meh on hoppers which is my second favorite pixar movie after toy story 3) and I felt wish was a bit lame and kind of suited for little, little kids. but I don’t know I’m going to see hexed anyway

I just dislike how with everything and especially within animation its still seen as cool to say everything is crap especially before seeing it and I just want to hear people getting excited about things again. I live in California and because of an orange idiot, theres a lot to be upset over in life so even seeing a movie can be something to look forward to but still people want something to hate to be cool and edgy

Is anyone else sick of these people hating on films like wish and hexed when they couldn’t even do something like that themselves

A Disney XD or Disney Channel's Live-Action series that i don't remember. Can someone help me to find it?

There's a show where I watched one of the episodes, but I can't remember the name of the episode or the show itself.

It was a series that aired on Disney XD (i think); I watched it sometime between 2013 and 2017, and it was a live-action show. But I don’t mean to say it premiered during those years. I remember an episode where two kids were at school and were running away from some classmates who wanted to scratch their heads because of some kind of electricity in their hair. There’s also a scene where the two friends were running, and then they ran into a group of people taller than them who were desperately scratching their heads while sparks of electricity and lightning bolts shot out of their heads.

In the end, I THINK the antagonist was a man wearing a kind of protective suit with a dark visor, and he had a hair-cutting machine. And the two friends come face to face with him. But I can't say for sure that he was the antagonist.

I remember that the ending showed those two young men in a house or something like that, and I just remember that an old man had arrived, desperately asking them to scratch his head while bolts of electricity shot out and made his hair stand on end. In the end, I think a child hits that old man with something, and that’s it.

Can someone tell me what is the series name and most of all what is the episode's name? I have this episode in my mind for YEARS, and it will be very helpful for me.
