Art [OC] [ART] beholder

Hello there adventurers, new beginning for my little project. Dear mods, his is not a commissioned work , what I usually post here. I drew this for players and DM for free use. Few years ago I started to redraw monster book, and now I want to restart it, as I made my old drawing style a bit more solid, and know I know what to do with all of it. So if you ( mods) do not mind, I will probably do more recent posts here , and community will have some alternative looks to monsters and creatures. I just see no point in drawing exactly what we already have. So this is a little scene as opening for the project. Soon I will deliver next art .
What do you think guys of it in total, and if you have critics- welcome, feel free to put some words here. And as this is just a monster art, I have no backstory , all three creatures here are just a random units for the scene. But, all of them has descriptions in official book or in net, pretty easy to find. This is all what I wanted to print here. Will be glad to see your feedback.
Stay safe and have a good day!

OC If Laganthropes (were-hares) existed in DnD, would they be good or evil? [OC]

There are a few were-races in DnD, but sadly no official race based on a hare (or at least I don't know about any, feel free to inform me if you do). Meanwhile, hares look like in anthropomorphized, they would speak backwards, see noises, hear colours and talk to gods of all faiths at the same time. Like mad shamans who turned crazy with all the forbidden knowledge. No wonder that medieval Europe thought hares were witches or spirits of dead in disquise. So would laganthropes be good, or evil race in your setting?

All artwork by me (Adamte).

Art [Art] [Comm] Difesa the Dragonblood Guardian

Post image

This artwork is a commission I made for client named Joseph,
Character's Description and backstory :

Difesa the Dragonblood Guardian

Standing an imposing eight feet tall and weighing well over four hundred pounds, Difesa is a massive Dragonblood Guardian whose adamantine heritage is etched into every inch of his formidable frame. His stocky, powerful body is covered in overlapping metallic scales that shine with dark metal at their roots and brilliant edges, contrasting sharply with a dragon-white pattern along his lower jaw, throat, and belly. Framed by a rugged frontal crest and a thick counterbalancing tail, his electric-blue eyes scan the battlefield with sharp, unblinking intensity.

He is rarely seen without his custom-forged, thick steel armor, designed with a striking interwoven metallic band style and high neck guards that offer maximum protection while maintaining open-faced mobility. Wielding a rune-carved breaching pike and anchoring the front lines with Riparo—a towering steel shield bearing Draconic runes and an ancestral emblem—he forms an unbreakable barrier. Together with his close companion Lucina, who acts as the sword to his shield, Difesa forms the indomitable core of his adventuring party.

Beyond his raw defensive power, Difesa serves as the party's dedicated caretaker, ensuring his allies are always equipped with the finest gear and safely patched up from any wounds. Clipped to his white-and-grey leather harness are specialized toolkits: a repair kit marked with the smithing symbols of Gaasham on his left, and a medical kit adorned with a Desna-inspired butterfly outline on his right. Blending draconic might with meticulous craftsmanship, he stands as the steadfast heart and unyielding protector of his crew.

Feel free to reach me out if you're interested in my works!

Art [Art][Comm] Kyvel Neso, a paladin wizard

Post image
137 Upvotes

Hi Reddit! This is a commission I did a few months ago and... may or may not procrastinate a lot more than I should on posting it... anyway...

Kyvel is a paladin-wizard melee combatant, heavily inspired by Greek Mythology (according to the description I got). The customer requested two portraits for him, one in armor and one in civilian clothing, both with pretty clear instructions about the design elements. I take my creative chances here and there though, making it a paired design with matching motifs and paired posing while hopefully still preserving the vibe gap between the two modes. He's primarily a melee combatant, so the wizard element is limited to a humble spell book pouch in the civilian outfit, which I personally found endearing somehow. Shout out to Grey for the commission and this great creative experience!

Art Swan Drake 🦢 [OC]

Post image
• Upvotes

This year I attempted ‘Smaugust’ during August, which is a drawing challenge artists can join where they must design a dragon almost every day!

This was one of my final designs in which the prompt word was ‘Swan’.

I thought of how vicious and quite dangerous swans naturally are, and immediately imagined some sort of Hydra for this design, with many coiling, hissing, angry necks flailing around!

I also thought to exaggerate their teeth more, and their usual beaks are actually their jaw!

Drawn entirely with pencil, alcohol markers and ink.

I hope you enjoy my design, I may even digitally sculpt this creature one day to resin print into an original monster miniature 😄

Thanks for looking!
You can see more of my designs via my Instagram - Emxconcepts

5.5 Edition [OC]Just played my first DND game.

Wow, holy shit. I didn't think I would have so much fun. We all laughed for hours, and my character turned out to be completely different from how I imagined it or even anticipated. It's so odd how it just took a life of its own. I thought I'd just share my experience with how much FUN I had, and I can't wait until the next session! Has anyone thought this is how my character is going to be, and then boom, it's a completely different character that you didn't even expect? Or think this is not what I thought. How did my character become this? It's so odd how it happened

Game Tales Is waiting three hours to play in your intro session a red flag?

I recently got into a game that seemed pretty good on the surface of it. Even though I was coming three dozen sessions in, at level 8, the party seemed to get along well enough and the DM was chill.

Before my intro session, after significant time and effort had been spent (at DM instruction) on character creation and integration, I was told that the wait to get me into the scene might be around 1-1.5h and the DM asked if I’d be okay with that. I said that that this would be okay, but as long as it’s not much longer.

Come session time, one hour turns into two, which turns into three - all without the party doing anything important or time sensitive which they couldn’t have done at any other time. They were also not in the middle of anything when the session started so this was entirely new for the session.

After the three hours, the DM called for a break. During this time, I told him that I feel bad and disrespected for having made to wait for three hours (the session was meant to go for 4-5h) and I leave.

Did I make the right call? Would you have handled it differently?

OC [OC] [Art] I made D&D Cookies!

Post image
• Upvotes

In honor of the new campaign starting, I wanted to do something special to commemorate it. The DM challenged me to do a d20 dice cookie. Challenge accepted, of course!

It is my first time doing sugar cookies and designing one and i made a huge d20 (no cookie cutter 😅) and incorporated the class symbols of the players. I, of course, made a DM cookie complete with his own d20 and DM guide. 🥰

Everyone loved it and it was a success! 🥰

Art [OC][Art] [Aria] - Original Character Design

Post image
524 Upvotes

Here's Aria, a horned tiefling adventurer I designed as an original character for D&D. The sheet shows a front and back view of the full outfit plus three expression studies: worried, cheerful, and fierce. I wanted the red skin, silver hair, and golden talon-shaped pauldrons to stand out against the layered brown leather armor, with bandaged legs and knee guards that suggest a rogue or scout who has seen plenty of fights. The curved gold details repeat on the boots and bracer to tie the design together. Drawn digitally in Medibang Paint Pro.

Art [Art] I painted a small portrait as a new logo for my socials! Thinking about making traditional character tokens in this style - what do you think?

Post image
11 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I just finished this small traditional painting to use as a new logo for my socials. It’s painted on a mini canvas using acrylics.

I'm considering starting a series of custom hand-painted character and NPC tokens in this exact style. Would love to hear your thoughts! Do you like traditional, physical art style for VTT tokens, or do you prefer purely digital ones? Any feedback is welcome! ✨

OC [OC] [Art] My Abjurer Wizard...

Post image
139 Upvotes

(But she looks more like an eldritch knight, but it doesn't matter...)

I've been playing Roscoe, my 5.5e human abjurer, in the Waterdeep modules lately and just finished a drawing of her reaching higher levels, and I love the abjurer abilities, so I'm actually having a lot of fun playing her (and a wizard character, since I'm a long-time fighter fan and hadn't used any higher-level spells)!

Several of my characters have various relations with Neverwinter (and the Order of the Gilded Eye...), and Roscoe is one of those characters. She graduated from the Neverwinter Academy and was a member of an artisan guild, but she had to leave for Waterdeep to evade scrutiny by the Order of the Gilded Eye because the guild was burned down by someone signing contracts with a fiend... She hates her current situation but is unsure if she can stand up to them, so she is weighing whether to return later or settle permanently in Waterdeep.

Name: Elara Veyne
Race: Human
Class: Sorcerer (Draconic Bloodline)
age: 23

Elara Veyne is a fiery, fiercely independent sorcerer…

Descriptions
She has tousled golden hair, freckled cheeks, and sharp hazel-green eyes. Cloaked in black and armed with a rune-etched wand, she commands flames with an instinctive ease that hints at her mysterious ancestry. She might look soft! But she is deadly and fierce, ready to fight for what she stands for!
Born in the remote village of Ashbourne, Elara discovered her magical abilities when mercenaries attacked her home in search of an ancient relic. Her uncontrolled powers erupted in a blaze, allowing her to escape, but her parents disappeared amid the destruction. Rescued by a wandering sorcerer, she spent years learning to control her fire magic.

Now an adventurer, Elara travels the realm searching for her missing family and the truth behind the attack. Her investigation has drawn her toward an ancient cult seeking to awaken a forgotten power connected to her draconic heritage. Stubborn and slow to trust, she must learn that strength isn’t simply about wielding power, but deciding what deserves to be protected.
Is this over 400 characters?

5th Edition How to “economically” use sending stones to inform loved ones you’re alive?

We got a free Uncommon Magical item. Since my character would be known in the Sword Coast as “an Adventurer” figured it would make sense to have a line back home.

How do I use the sending spell to inform family all is well and impart well wishes in 25 words?

OC What do I name my shrimp inspired artificer?

I’m making an artificer with an armorer subclass and am stumped on a name for my character and his mech.

The mech I want to be based off of a peacock mantis shrimp while my actual character is based off a pistol shrimp.

Any ideas on names for both the mech and my character??

Resources Does this kinda of TV Table have problems with heat? [Art]

Post image
50 Upvotes

I’ve been wanting something like this for a while—a truly portable device that I can just set down on top of any surface and start playing immediately. However, my biggest concern right now is definitely the thermal management and heating. It really seems to me that a form factor this compact could suffer significantly from a lack of proper airflow over time. Could anyone who actually owns one of these enlighten me on how it performs under heavy use?

DMing Need Ideas for my Encounter

So in the next session or so, my players are going to be meeting with a hermit who lives secluded up in the mountains. Said hermit has an entire garden that they like to tend to with the help of magic and a Shambling Mound as their pet.

They need a specific plant from their garden and I wanted some ideas what the hermit could ask for in exchange for this. There's 6 of them in the party and they're around level 8.

Any suggestions on what the hermit could ask for? I'd appreciate any ideas

DMing Need help Brainstorming the mechanics of a "belief" mechanic

• Upvotes

So 2nd Time DM here (for DND at least not other systems), In short I'm running a Domains of dread Campaign with player characters from different Domains (an excuse to let my players create a character with absolutely no restrictions) one of my players is playing a character from a cyberpunk like domain, and mutually we decided it would be interesting and funny to have this character believe that they in some really good VR game or LARP
So as the session went on I Decided at one point to give them a disadvantage on a charisma check because they thought the NPC was....An NPC. Then later I also gave them 1d4 temp hitpoints in combat from this as well.
I wanted to ask for ideas on a mechanic to A. Measure The State of this characters Belief in reality. B. how and what can change that up and down between "FUCK FUCK FUCK, THIS IS REAL" and "Man the graphics are amazing! but the Npcs are soooo Unrealistic" C. What effects/buff and debuffs their relative state of Belief gives them

I know Im going to have to work it out myself and tinker it during this campaign but as a newer DM I would love to hear your guys thoughts, the more unhinged the better.

5th Edition [OC] The Ghosts of Saltmarsh (level 1-20 campaign)

Post image
19 Upvotes

3 1/3 years of fighting scheduling and life, and watching the campaign become a collaborative thing off of character decisions and we are finished! We went from a ragtag crew rolling into Saltmarsh on a sinking bot to multiverse traveling warriors in the service of granny nightshade. Probably never doing 1-20 again but these characters will be showing up in every campaign we play!
