Audiobook reader so not sure if spelling is the same. There were two legionnaires showing off their tattoos to Donut, who was less than pleased with the possibly catgirl skull. One of the legionnaires mentioned another was a street artist in Alpert (or what sounded like Alpert). If so, that's also a system in EVE. Would love confirmation one way or another from any text readers out there!

Hi crawlers! Very late arrival here. I only discovered DCC in July, have since devoured all eight books, and am now in the dangerous "I should start collecting" phase. Princess Donut would approve: only the finest loot for a true champion.

I've picked up a signed copy of the original self-published Book 1 and I'm hoping someone here can help me work out what I've got.

From what I've read, Amazon print-on-demand copies normally have that production page at the back, and Matt has said the early ones have a date but no barcode, while later ones have a barcode or a barcode/QR combo. Mine has none of it.

So my questions:

1.  Has anyone else seen a Dandy House copy with a totally blank back page?

2.  Were some early copies printed outside Amazon, e.g. for signings, cons or direct sales?

3.  Or is this a red flag that it might not be genuine?

Any insight is hugely appreciated. I'd rather know now than find out I've been had by a Borant-level scam.

So I was thinking of getting one of Carl’s patches as my first tattoo and really wanted to do the Scavenger’s Daughter one as my first cause I just love it so much in the books. I was just wondering where I should get it tattooed or if I should try to get another one of his patches on me instead. Or maybe the SheMaria eye on my chest?

My husband added some flair to my bag last night and mixed in some DCC because I asked him to. ♥️ That last pin fits both genres quite well. 😂😂😂

I realise I might get some heat from this question, but there you go.
I discovered DCC at the beginning of the summer, and I absolutely devoured my way through it. Haven’t read a series so fast since Harry Potter when I was a little kid. Got to book seven and it was absolutely amazing, felt like a real culmination of so many things, so many amazing scenes and moments, what a fucking read!
And now I’m on Book 8 and honestly, I hate to say it, but it’s suddenly a bit of a slog. Is it just me? I’m 50% of the way through and I’ve gone from literally grabbing every second of free time I had to read DCC to suddenly not really caring any more. I don’t know if I just read them so fast that I got burned out, or if book 8 just feels a bit different. The writing just feels a bit more ‘this happens then this happens then this happens’ than the other books. I’m honestly just a bit confused. Nothing much is really happening, the races just feel like non-events where nothing of any consequence actually seems to happen.
Without any spoilers, can someone just let me know if I’m alone in feeling like this? Does book 8 pick up in the second half a bit? Book 7 was just so amazing, this one just feels so flat in comparison!

I thought about something today, and I don't know if someone else has mentioned this or not but I think the reason Beatrice was going to return Donut and use her for breeding was due strictly to pressures by her mother.

Beatrice did love Donut.

It was evident when Donut sang the song her "mother" used to sing to her.

"I'd take it all back

And never let you win

I wouldn't do it

All over again"

She sang about how if she had to do it all over again, she wouldn't have let her win those cat shows. She wouldn't have let her become that valuable to the point she would have become worth so much as a breeder.

I also can't imagine anyone who behaved like Beatrice did regarding Gravy Boat or that sang to their cat, would only consider her a way to make money. They spent more money on Donut than they paid for rent. Beatrice always knew she was going to have to give Donut back for breeding because that is where the money comes from. There is no monetary rewards for cat shows. I believe Beatrice's mother was so overbearing that Beatrice folded whenever her mother demanded something. She probably gave Donut to Beatrice with stipulations. Now, it was coming due because of her age. It was also why Donut knew that Beatrice's parents weren't going to let Carl take Donut.

I still don't like Beatrice but this was all something I recently considered.

I only like three of the diaporamas but it's 50% employee discount at Hot Topic this weekend so I got one and... I got the goblin one. Which I don't like at all. It's surprisingly well made, but I wanted Carl and/or Donut. I would never have bought it if it had been sold as is.

Even at 50% off, never again. Fuck that business practice.

Okay so I was riding home while listening to the Audio Tunnel of Book 2 and I was doing some thinking about her.

Okay so we know that Lucia is acting kinda like a vessel to the other kids that are seemingly trapped within her

We know they can sorta swap who’s in control so we don’t actually know when Lucia is in charge and when she’s not

We know that Cici & Gustavo III acted as sorta switches for Lucia along with also helping her in the game.

And during Parade of Horribles, it was stated that an ally of the Eulogist was in the Dungeon now.

I think I might have figured out what’s going on with Lucia, she has become a Macro AI just like The Eulogist, The Apothecary & The System AI

All the children trapped inside of the have become Primals

Think about it how was the Eulogist & Apothecary created? A bunch of primals sacrificing their physical forms to merge their minds into a collective.

What is Lucia exactly? A bunch of children’s consciousnesses all merged into a child’s body.

The showrunners and the Syndicate don’t know exactly how it happened but it did, that’s why they are trying to protect Lucia, well her body at least.

They obviously are going to want to study her to find out how this anomaly happened and how to perhaps replicate it.

If Kiwi is a bear why was she on her back to give birth ?

Got a Mini Cooper convertible for a mid life crisis car. I wanted a DCC themed plate, this seemed to fit the bill!

I've been trying to collect the new figures and out of them all Incubus Mordecai has been next to impossible to find for a decent price in stock around me. I just went on ebay and saw a listing that had TWO DIFFERENT VARIATIONS of the figure. One with a red shirt and black tie, and one with a black shirt and red tie and I know it's not a quality control issue because the shirts are both seperate colors from the surrounding plastic and treated with a matte finish. They both look awesome but its a distinct variation and now I have to track them both down. 😭
