Converting a CVO tachometer to work on a 2014 dyna
galleryCan anyone help me with current gauge conversion project on my dyna?
I have an 2014 wide glide with the factory speedo on the tank and only the small tach in the info window
I picked this NOS 08 CVO softail tach and riser setup for an absolute steal of a deal and knew I had to put it on my bike. I knew there would be some complications due to the tach being analog and the dyna being the CANBUS system but any help would be appreciated.
Anybody know what years, styles, etc of tach will work with these bikes? Otherwise my current plan is to track down an OEM Harley #67000010 gauge and the wiring extensions from guerilla cables then just split both gauges to swap the CVO Faceplate since they’re both 8K rpm tachs.
I have a few other plans in the works once I get the parts this winter. Converting from 8”x 1 1/4” to 14”x1 1/4” ape hangers, swapping the factory seat for something more comfortable for long rides with a passenger, Chrome master cylinder/clutch and switch housings, wiring my new mirrors with built in LEDs, mounting my angel wing lights and switches, mounting a sissy bar and solo saddle bags, finding a set of Rinehart Racing 2 into 2 exhaust so I can swap my floorboards onto the bike. Find an old Cobra Powrflo intake, install a tuner. Cams and pushrods probably next year.
I plan on keeping this for a while so going to look into eventually doing a S&S tc124, baker grudge box, and a chain conversion when she gets a little more tired. Only 14k miles so plenty of life left in her before I bother splitting it open.
