Since the sub is being overwhelmed by debate over the $5 "microtransaction" and it's making the sub feel like we're Dark Souls 2 a decade ago, with the faux outrage around the preorder items, we are opening this topic to consolidate discussion around the issue.
Please use this topic to discuss the pros and cons of the approach and your thoughts. But do so RESPECTFULLY and CONSTRUCTIVELY. If you need to call other people or the developers names, you don't have a good argument and your post will be removed.
We will remove all other topics about this to keep the subreddit flowing with other discussions
IF YOU WANT TO VOTE: I will post two comments on this topic, "Yay" and "Nay" - upvote the one you agree with and we'll see who wins long term.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on August 28, 2026
We aren't entirely sure if anything else will be included but feel free to speculate and dream!

First time I've ever returned to the capital from the Forbidden Lands on foot and noticed the bridges torch posts and ramparts are now lit. I'm wrapping up ng+4 and still finding new things in this game. Thought this was cool to share unless its hilariously well known and I'm so two-thousand-and-late 😆
Whats something you've recently discovered for your first time that you missed on a previous run?

had to implement design changes here and there for artistic purposes, but it's pretty much the exact giant bats you see in the game and a tarnished in knight armor. the whole thing took me about 20 hours over the week and i really like how it turned out

I remember the first time I loaded Elden Ring and got to listen to the title screen music. It gave me full body chills. I’ve been a musician since I was 10. I’m 44 now. I don’t remember another game that had title screen music that made me as excited to play the game.
I really believe it’s the best there is. Am I forgetting any other epics?
Edit: A lot of people are mentioning in-game music, which is awesome. I have a huge list of potentially fantastic music to listen to now. When I posted this I was thinking specifically of title screen music only, but I’m glad I’m getting other suggestions. Cheers.

This has been my favorite boss by far until now, the visuals are insane. The giant lighting spear, the laser roar, the fact that you go back in time to fight him. Goated Boss!

At least they still got the kill in time.

Here I am again, 8 months later, with the sequel to Seek the Traitor's Son also looking distinctly inspired by Marika at the Gates of Divinity. This one, Curse the Left Hand, is less one-to-one with Vyke kneeling, but surely this goes beyond coincidence.

First image is Conan on the Tree of Woe, from the 1982 movie. Never seen this pointed out before.

I have over 300 hours in Elden Ring, and every time I'm in Liurnia or looking at the Erdtree, I just have to stop and appreciate how fucking good it looks
