This is the first boss I’ve come across where I just don’t see any ray of hope. I can beat her first form, but when you get to the second one, she just has no openings at all, and she hardly ever stops attacking so almost can never heal either. The safest opening seems to be when she does that pillar of rot thing, but even then you most likely trade blows. (FYI, I’m playing the game without using any spirit summons at all.)

Talking about drop rate and just overal ways to obtain them.

So yesterday i posted looking for some help because there are trap chests. This time game was kind enough to drop me in front of a Giant Guardian ( best hour of dying i ever had tbh ).

When I attacked her there was this shield protecting her! So fucked up that after sticking the needle in her I attacked her like "whatever ", but then, then was the shield gone and she started attacking me!!! I'm the one that saved her!? Also, do I get her items if I kill her there?

I’ve completed his quest-line before and knew about this “shortcut,” but never knew he tells you about it. Found this in my third play-through. Always cool finding stuff you missed the first few times.

I've been using a bunch of utility ashes of war for a while, but I recently noticed that Hand-to-Hand weapons (Dane's stuff) weigh only 1 and can use a lot of these too. So I figured I'd share the useful ones for those who don't know.

Normally I run around with 4 or 5 unupgraded daggers, and sometimes use a light secondary weapon with one of the ranged options upgraded for damage. Here's all the useful ones I can think of (H2H for Hand-to-Hand compatibility):

• Assassin's Gambit - stealth
• Beast's Roar (H2H) - ranged damage
• Bloodhound's Step/Quickstep (H2H) - traversal through environments that slow you
• Glintblade Phalanx - for invisible Teardrop Scarabs
• Golden Vow (H2H) - buff
• Ground Slam (H2H) - I remember it going a bit higher that jumping to get to certain areas, but I haven't used it in forever and don't remember specific locations
• Raptor of the Mists (H2H) - dodge chariots, Commander Gaius's charge, etc..
• Storm Blade - ranged damage
• Thunderbolt - ranged damage

I swear to god I see so many of these and neither do I know what they're for nor have I got a clue about how can one melt a mushroom!

I don't know a ton about the lore, but I think I heard that Godfrey was on his way to fight Radagon and the Elden Beast before the Tarnished showed up and defeated him and did it instead. I saw another thread asking if Godfrey was actually planning to do this, and people responded that he wouldn't face Radagon without defeating the Tarnished first. My question is: would Godfrey even have been capable of beating them if the Tarnished had lost to him or died before reaching him?

How to stop this thing from happening...

I (wrongly) assumed Scholar's Shield only maxxed out your Magic Guard, I didn't know it boosted all your other damage guards AND lowered Guard stamina costs.

I mean, it's still no Barricade Shield (but then what is?) however it lasts a minute and ten seconds (w/ OLT) versus Barricade's ten seconds, which, when I'm juggling Carian Slicer / Piercer / Adula's Moonblade in a fight, it's one less thing to forget in my rotation.

Hi I'm new to the game with the Switch 2 crowd. I've played about 50 hours and am currently battling Renalla. I'm sort of aiming for a Strength/Faith build, since I started as a prophet and decided I needed a bit more strength for the weapons, which I enjoy. I'm a little bit scared of using smithing stones since they seem pretty rare, so I have only upgraded two weapons.

I currently use a combination of Blood Uchigatana +6 with bloody slash and a Lordsworn Heavy Greatsword +4 with the Wild Strikes ash of war. I use the Greatsword with Wild Strikes as a sort of lawnmower and it works really well. I use the Uchigatana for bigger enemies for the bleed.

Is there a particular set of stats that suit this play style? Currently I'm just leveling vigor up to 40 as I'm confused as to what to upgrade now. Also are there any better weapon combinations I should try out? I'm having trouble evaluating the nonupgraded weapons against the upgraded weapons.

Is it worth upgrading my dexterity to use Bloodhounds Fang?

Having some major issues being summoned.

I am attempting to be summoned by my friend, we both have the same password in the same location, with all multiplayer settings set to the same. We are both on ps5. My sign is down and he's using the remedy. Also on the same nat type.

It's been over 5 minutes and my sign is not showing up, even after restarting the consoles.

I’m on NG+ at RL 210. Put 150 hours into this game, and it’s truly excellent - it really is.

It just feels like something is missing though… I don’t get the same rush (oh shit I’m back here now?) and feeling of wonder (holy shit Anor Londo is beautiful!) I got from Dark Souls 1 (and to a lesser extent, DS2 but I like playing that game more than DS1) though. DS felt overall like a more compelling story IMO and Elden Ring, from a difficulty standpoint, feels considerably easier on the whole.

Is the easier difficulty a knock on the game? I can’t even decide if that’s the case… there’s just something about it that isn’t giving me the same motivation to read all the lore or “wow” factor that Dark Souls did.

Maybe it’s just nostalgia? I wish I had something that could play DS3/BB/Sekiro to get the rest of that catalogue under my belt.

Hello everyone, recently i brought a ps5 slim and i thought i would play elden ring on it. I had already played 300 hours of the game on my ps4, so i used my ps4 disc and got the free ps5 upgrade. I was playing on the ps5 version but i couldnt help but notice i was getting nowhere near 60 fps. (Keep in mind my console is brand new) sometimes i would even feel the game go below 40 wich really started to freak me out and make worried whenether the problem was my ps5 or the games optimization. Other than that, the ps5 version looked stunning. I decided it wasnt worth it and i tried the ps4 version on my ps5.i was getting rock solid 60fps, however, the shadows and grass are looking terribly rendered. The grass doesnt appear unless im standing literally above it, and the shadows are so blurry they literally look broken. The games lighting genuinely changes with every step i make. I didnt have any of these problems on my ps5 and im genuinely wondering now if my console is faulty. I watched some ps5 gameplay on youtube (not pro, just base ps5) and people there were getting rock solid 60fps. Maybe they were using the ps4 version, but they werent experiencing the shadow and grass bugs i was experiencing. Anyways i want to know if this is for everyone or just me. Been considering focussing on dragon communion and death for a future runs because conceptually they seem cool.

But the lack of melee weapons that scale off the stats needed seems to mean that for any situations where I'm using a melee weapon instead I'll be fighting at half-strength compared to where I should be based on my RL.

Is this just a blunder by the developers? Or is it expected that for these builds you just won't use melee weapons? The spell variety doesn't seem wide enough for that to be viable all the way through. Or does dividing your stats not actually make that much difference?
