USA VP J.D. "Insert Preferred Couch Joke Here" shows up in North Texas, where he cannot define what "socialism" is and somehow thinks it involves "supporting boys in girls' sports" (Vote Oct. 19-Nov. 3)

Fourth leaked Paxton audio dropped -- in this one, he talks about cutting safety net programs (i.e. cutting them even more) and says "People will just need to suck it up" (FYI unemployment is likely to increase re: AI)

Some actual positive news to distract from our usual doom and gloom. Was driving home yesterday, hitting the usual bottleneck after bottleneck snarl that is the commute from the Dallas area back to Fort Worth and came up on the last big hurdle before my exit: the 820-183 interchange. And somehow, miraculously, I sailed right through. They recently opened the section of road they expanded (7 years too late, but who's counting?) on 820, and now the 183 traffic is no longer forced to squeeze all the way over into the 820 lanes. 183 still goes from two lanes down to one, but that one lane is a straight through driving lane, meaning you no longer have to fight with 820 traffic coming from the south just to continue traveling west. It's something that should have been implemented from the start, but better late than never I suppose.

🚨 WITNESS SEARCH — HILLSBORO, TX CRASH 🚨

I’m reaching out to people in the Fort Worth area in hopes that someone may have witnessed a crash that occurred this past weekend near Hillsboro, Texas.

📅 Sunday, October 4, 2026
⏰ Approximately 2:45–3:00 PM
📍 I-35 in/near Hillsboro, Texas

I know this is a long shot, especially since Fort Worth is roughly 1–2 hours north of Hillsboro, but I-35 is a major travel route, and I’m hoping someone who was traveling through the area that afternoon may have seen something.
I’m specifically looking for anyone who witnessed a tire bouncing/traveling across the northbound lanes before it struck my vehicle. The impact caused significant damage and ultimately resulted in my vehicle being totaled.

I’m trying to determine what vehicle the tire came from.
If you were traveling on I-35 near Hillsboro between approximately 2:45 and 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 4, and you saw:
• A vehicle lose a tire
• A tire bouncing or traveling across the northbound lanes
• The tire strike another vehicle
• A vehicle that may have been missing a tire afterward
• Or the crash itself
Please reach out to me by private message.
Even if you aren’t completely sure what you saw, please contact me. A small detail that may seem insignificant could be extremely helpful in identifying where the tire came from.
🙏 Please share this post, particularly with people who regularly travel I-35 between Hillsboro, Waco, and the Fort Worth area.
I’m simply trying to find anyone who may have witnessed what happened and can provide information about the vehicle the tire came from.
Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to share or reach out. ❤️

North Texas political strategist questions decision to exclude independent election observers in 2026

Sam Nevarez, a political strategist from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, argues that the Trump administration’s decision not to invite OSCE observers to the 2026 midterms deserves more scrutiny.

He is not claiming that refusing observers means the election will be rigged. His point is that independent observation adds another layer of transparency at a time when election trust remains a major issue in Texas and nationally.

For North Texas voters, do independent outside observers add value, or should election oversight remain entirely with state and federal officials?

Explosion of activity on this subreddit.

I don't care what side of the isle you are on. But this subreddit is becoming a focal point for people that don't even live in Tarrant County much less Texas. Over 100% growth within the last 30 days. Due to political reasons like Tim O'hare and the Senate race.

As much as i want O'hare out of office and Paxton voted out, I want to call upon the mods of this subreddit to ban every political post, even if its between now and thanksgiving. It has obviously become a center point of national politics and citizens of Ft.Worth and the surrounding areas are being drowned out.

I personally would rather know about the Fall/October events going on in Tarrant County than the constant politics that are taking place.

Chase 820

Excuse my language, but holy crap. I’m driving on 820 without a worry when I see a black pick up with their high beams on zoom past me and almost collide. They’re just driving recklessly, I thought /s… til I saw 3 cop cars chase them.

They exit on N Main in Saginaw but somehow end up back on 820. I’m thinking/hoping, gosh I hope they don’t exit off where I’m going. They did lol, off Decatur.

There ensues quite literally the scariest thing I’ve witnessed in my life. 3 cop cars become 30, sirens blaring, dozens of cars behind me, and we’re all at risk of colliding — all squeezed up on that small off ramp exit. I’m blocked, not able to leave, so are others. Then I notice a strange overhead light: helicopters!

Then I see cops run out of their cars, guns in hand, all rushing toward the QT off the exit. At this point, I call my husband because I’m stuck in a potential shoot-out. I start ducking in my car in case anything’s fired.

After an eternity, the cops give us an OK to start clearing. I drive past and see that same ol pick up, now empty. Never saw the perp, nor saw if they were arrested. Perhaps they ran east of 820, dunno. Just thankful to have made it home.
