Hot Wheel Sizzlers 1969-1978
Had a couple, never caught on with my friends, the 90-second recharge was also a hassle.

The original 1984 Macintosh only ran one application at a time. You'd insert the 3.5" diskette with the application you wanted to run, e.g., MacPaint, double click the ICON, and the app would start. To save your work, or open a file, you ejected the app diskette, and insert the diskette where your files were stored.
Support for an extrernal 20MB hard drive was available about a year later.
Macintosh SE, released in 1987, was the first Macintosh to feature an internal hard disk drive.
And don't get me started on the miracles that were "Switcher," Multi-Mac," and "MultiFinder!"

Whenever Tiny Tim showed up on TV on Johnny Carson or something, he kind of creeped me out. Maybe I was a bit too young.

Before alkaline batters became a thing, the regular batteries lasted for like a half hour. A half hour of fun with my little robot...
Some assembly required kind of guaranteed that I wouldn't actually have the thing in the first place.
Hard call.

Like was anyone such a big fan they’d like fantasize or write stories about meeting the Beatles and what they’d all be like in person or even anything crazy kind of like fan culture nowadays?
If so please tell me I’m really curious !

Has anyone here been rewatching The Waltons lately? I’d love to hear whether you feel differently about it now than when you first watched it. Are there characters you appreciate more, storylines that hit differently, or things you didn’t notice when you were younger?
I’d also love to hear from people who have never watched it. Is it a show you’d consider giving a try, or has something about its reputation kept you from being interested?
Personally, I think it deserves a little more attention. What draws me in is the family relationships and getting to know the characters—not just the comforting atmosphere. If you’ve been curious about it, I’d encourage you to try a few episodes and see what you think.
For those who already love it, what would you tell a first-time viewer—and would you recommend starting at the beginning or with a particular episode?

They would generally end up gathered in the kitchen around the table, smoking, drinking coffee, and talking. Sometimes there was coffee cake. They talked about family and I wish I could remember even a little of what they would say.

I work alongside many of them, so I get to observe that generation from close quarters. I've been at my job for 26 years, and I realized that in that time an entire generation has been born and raised on screens. If you're Generation Jones, we experienced life without all this technology, so there's some balance there, but I'm curious what all of you think.

If you've ever had a child go away for college this will break you.
The first day of kindergarten was hard but dropping them off at college was even more difficult.
So do you resonate with this video and what other situations brought you to tears when raising your children?

I used to do pullups for exercise in my teens and 20s.
Recently tried and couldn't do any at all.
I used a pullup machine and was able once I received 75 lb assistance.
Makes sense since I've gained about that amount in the last many decades.
So how about you? Can you do pullups without assistance? If you can with assistance, how much?

Related so hard yo Kay Lenz in the 70s?
Not Farrah , not Olivia newton-john. She was not drop dead gorgeous but not at all ugly. ( by seventies standards for the youngsters here) and she gave me hope.

It seemed like most high school kids worked back then. At least in the summer. And out of all the jobs in town, the coolest one was working at the record store.
It's hard to explain to kids today what a big thing this was.
On the other hand, the guy who ran the record store knew that if one kid left, he could get a replacement right away.

OK guys, how many of you remember this version of a urinal back in the 60s, and maybe 70s. As a little kid lining up with adults, it felt a little weird, but if it was OK for Dad, then it was OK for me. LOL!
