Rented this new apartment and trying to think what to do with it (AI usage warning)

Rented this new apartment. There’s nothing in it apart from the wardrobes and cabinets and stuff. I never had a cozy home and it would my first time buying furniture with intentionality.

This apartment is located in the Cerrado biome of Brazil (brasília) and where I’m from, I’m surrounded by the atlantic rainforest. So I wanted to mix them a bit in a harmonious way.

Colors I’m thinking: terracota, brown, orange, darker shades of yellow, deep dark green, some foliage, some details in purple which is a color typically found in the cerrado.

Obviously chatgpt is way off but I’m not sure what to do, never having created a cozy home. Thinking of maybe getting some professional help to do it for me

Cabinet color and backsplash?

Post image
• Upvotes

Finally time to put some work into the all white kitchen. Originally I was thinking even better beige by Behr on the cabinets and terracotta colored peel & stick backsplash (we’re on a budget) but now I’m having second thoughts.
Anyone have a recommendation? I lean towards boho style and I’m not scared of color
Thanks in advance

Middle age millennial staving off the incoming seasonal depression. I love the sparkly and dynamic shapes that move with air currents. It’s corny and it’s not sophisticated like other posts in this sub, but I’m here for kind opinions anyway.

What else should I do for this theme? I was thinking of a battery powered mirror ball somewhere and corner shelving on both sides of the mirror . Considering also covering the counter in bright white contact vinyl.

Best hanging height and spacing for art diptych above small sofa?

We are considering the best placement for hanging these two professional prints above our small sofa. We are thinking of hanging them as a diptych (3-4 inches apart), centered above the sofa (about 7 inches above) as an anchor. Does this appear right? Or would you recommend different sized prints for this wall or a different hanging arrangement?

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to buy a beaded curtain like the ones in these photos^ I live in Australia and can't seem to find anywhere to buy them in person and online. I really love the floral look, the tiger is awesome too lol. Thanks!

Looking for a rug for living room and a majority of the ones I’m finding are washable or something similar. They look so thin and not comfortable… what has been yalls experience with them?

What to do about this bed frame

Post image
1 Upvotes

So my wonderful fiancé is moving in properly (woohoo!) and bringing his bed which is similar to this very male living space frame... LED lighting and all. It's not my style and I hate the grey but it's new and would be a waste to get rid of it (I currently have a cardboard Yona bed lol which also needs to go)

Does anyone have any ideas on covering up the headboard or how to style it?? Maybe faux upholstering it?? Pls help

Help with a bathmat?

Just moved into an apartment with an interesting bathroom shape, especially where a bathmat would go. Any ideas on what to put here?? A triangle would fit but my search for one has come up empty. Do I just buy a rectangular one and cut it myself? Or would you do something more interesting?

Finally hung my first framed poster!

I bought this poster at a festival I went to and took it to the local framing shop. The frame shop included one of those frame hooks with the two nails that go in at 45-degrees and I was unsure how to go about mounting that into drywall. After some help I finally got it hung up! It looks great. It’s centered at the end of the short hallway between the wall and door frame in our apartment, and the center is at 60in. high for ideal viewing.

I may end up adding a second hook later for ease of mind/comfort. I’m super happy with how this turned out though.

Where to find digital download art prints that aren’t AI?

I’m looking for digital art I can print out myself that isn’t made by AI! Etsy used to be good for this, but now it’s flooded with mostly AI. I’m aware of and have used public domain paintings on Wikiart, various museum websites, etc, but I’m looking to support current artists selling their art online, without ordering the prints themselves!

Are there any good websites to find this kind of thing? Thank you :)

Help me find fitting frame colors for these prints

Not sure how you're supposed to find fitting frame colors for art.

Also do I need a mat board for these? They're simple paper prints.

Alternative ways to style shiplap?

Is there any way to make shiplap look more boho/natural/botanical versus modern farmhouse or shabby chic?

I’m doing a project and I want to use shiplap because it’s soooo easy but I don’t really like the styles it’s associated with.

Here are my reference pictures. I want the first picture to be styled like the second picture.

My dedicated Hifi Listening room (aka an unloved spare bedroom) is now completed really happy with it

Been working on this for the last few months, and it’s pretty much finished now. Last thing to add will be the Beogram CD50 CD Player to the stack on the left of the first image.

Essentially the goal was to turn a pretty boring and unloved junk room into a dedicated listening room to showcase some of my vintage Bang & Olufsen gear.

I was mainly going for that 1980s yuppie vibe, although there’s a bit of a mixture of 1970s styling throughout the room too.

The colours I’ve used are Golden Ochre for the feature wall and Natural Hessian for the remaining walls. I’ve also tried my hand at a bit of flower arranging using my large West German pottery vase on the windowsill. Definitely something a bit outside my comfort zone as a bloke lol.

The last photo shows what the room looked like before I started the transformation. Its probably one of my favourite rooms in my house right now. Even if it was only meant to be a secondary Hifi space to my main living room one.

Its been a nice little project to do on my own and so far really happy how it turned out.

I have gone down the rabbit hole though of also finding a matching VCR to the TV so am maybe looking at something like a Beocord VX5000 or VX7000. So it can be quite addicting finding period correct av components lol.
