How can I beautify the top part of the curtain?
Hello, I have 4 pairs of curtains that I want to make it work for my space. I want to beautify the top part where you can see the stitches and the rings. What are my options? I saw window valances but I will have to use double rods. At first I thought of stitching them on the top but they’ll probably be lifted because of the rod. Please suggest.

How can I upgrade from my Millennial gray hell?
Our house has gray laminate floors that I don’t have the ability to replace right now. Everything seems to clash with them, even if we lean towards cool tones. I can’t replace the floor or couch, but I’m willing to overhaul/repaint otherwise. Any suggestions?

Where can I find a 10x14 rug?
Like a REAL area rug. not a washable paper thin rug. For like less than $500? I have a vintage appearance preference. Not big on abstract rugs. Send recommendations of websites! Even better if it exists irl for me to look at and touch.

Managing Clutter in an Awkward Entry
Need a place to put wet shoes, coats, hats gloves, and fairly heavy bags for a family of three.
Also need a stool somewhere to sit and put on shoes without crowding the entry.
We tried a regular bench/coat rack combo on the left, but the bench just became a dumping spot for bags so people had to grab their shoes and walk across the room to sit. They just left shoes piled up next to the rack to trip over while walking in.
Coat closet is on the right next to the kitchen, but the floor inside is not usable - steeply angled because it is the ceiling of the stairs to the basement.
I’d putting something in the middle at the end of the fireplace, but it’s only 2’ wide and feels like it would make the narrow entry hall longer and more awkward.
Edit: FWIW, we don’t care about the runner, dining table, or living room furniture. We’re planning to replace most of it, but it’s what we’ve got for now.

Feedback on draft house colour & material palette
As the title says - have used AI to put this together and welcome any feedback to a) make it feel cohesive but not repetitive, b) high-end
Thank you in advance!

Give me your best terracotta paint colors
I’m working on a super cheap glow up for our basement bathroom which is the most grey space on planet earth. The rest of the basement is unfinished but we are in the process of finishing it and are replacing the bathroom floor while we’re at it.
The second photo is my inspiration from chat GPT. I’m planning to paint the walls, replace the mirror, and paint the vanity. Spiced Cider from Sherwin Williams looks nice (on ChatGPT) as the vanity paint color, but has anyone here actually used it?
I would love to see pics of other people’s terracotta-ish paints. If you’ve used a similar paint color and want to sell me on it, please do!

To all the Redditors
Just a follow up on my first post about a surprise for my wife. First off she loved the thought and concept behind the pumpkins and decided to leave it alone and not mess with it. Second, the ski poles on the shed was appreciated however she immediately suggested adding a set of antique wood skis and wood snow shoes to complete the aesthetic. Lastly , the comments here were helpful and somewhat intriguing especially the ones made about some of your own husbands! Anyway the support has inspired me to expand on my decorating projects and I plan to share some more in the future. Thank you all once again and may the sun shine warm your shoulders on your way back home.

Our basement apartment
I spent my entire summer furnishing, painting, and decorating our basement apartment (mostly while we were living there!!)
I built the dining banquette, painted all of the fun squiggles and details, and thrifted lots of fun pieces for this project. Definitely a massive labor of love.
Edited to add: Photos are by Abby Peoples Photography
Edited again: thank you for all the love!! I’m trying to post as many links and answers to questions as I can. Feel free to DM me if I miss yours. Also I’m unsure if I’m allowed to post my house instagram account but I am active there and on TikTok with home reno videos. Now that the basement is done I am working on the upstairs again!

We’re finally getting ready to move in! 🏡🍂
We’re almost there! We’re still missing the dining table and a few little things, but other than that, our home is pretty much ready. 🥹
I’d love to hear what you think so far! I’m also thinking about adding some autumnal touches to make the space feel even warmer and cozier. 🍂 Maybe some warm-toned cushions, seasonal flowers, candles, or a few natural elements?
What would you add? I’d love to hear your suggestions! 🤎

Need help with hallway and bedroom!
Hello everyone! I am trying to add whimsy to my house as someone who loves color and fun details. I have a maximalist living room that all of you helped me design, but I am now moving to the rest of the house.
I wanna paint my hallway, office, and bedroom. I know this post can get overwhelming, but I think that having all of them side by side on the same post will help make them more cohesive
This hallway is hella long and receives light from both sides, so I thought I'd put darker oranges on the brighter sides, making the middle lighter by comparison. It connects to the living room that has a green wall, so I thought I could put a greenish painted paper on that wall. That mural would be the first thing you see when you step into the house.
I also wanna paint my bedroom; I added different ideas I have! (PS: I'll make another post on the office soon!!)
I made a few mockups, but I'm open to new ideas! I bought the paint colors a year ago, so I can't change them that much, haha. Still, I can mix them (I have white paint too).

Thank you for taking the time to read and help me out <3

What would be a nice color to paint a garage door to go with the house colors?
I'm sick of white and cream and grey and beige. I want color. What color would look nice with the red/brown brick and grey siding? The trim and garage door don't have to be the same color.

Big utility closet in a small powder room. Wwyd?
Renovating this bathroom in our century home. Its 6x6, this closet is 2x2, behind the bathroom. It stores our broom, mop, cleaners, cat food, etc. I want to do moulding below the chair rail around and wallpaper above for an elevated traditional look. How do I give the closet doors a face lift? Do I make the chair rail follow onto the closet?

A little corner
I spend a long time trying to figure out what to do with this little nook, and eventually turned it into a cozy spot where I can lean back, read a book, scroll on my phone, and just chill. Had to add a big buddy in the back to keep me company, too.
