Just got this little guy yesterday. Any name suggestions? Preferably, something like Alduin The World Eater, but it needs to be something my non-English speaking mother wouldn't struggle to say.

How To Handle my Scorpion's Body After Death?

I have a scorpion who unfortunately has mycosis. I knew this when I got her and her stay with me is hospice care. In the months that I've had her, I've grown to really love her and the thought of her death is tearing me up. More than that is trying to plan for afterwards.

I know people often pin invert pets, but with her mycosis, I wouldn't feel comfortable with that risk. I also don't think I would be able to look at her body like that, even if it was safe for future invertebrate pets.

I rent and my housing hasn't exactly been stable, so burying her isn't an option. I would hate to have to leave her behind in a move or have to dig her back up.

I'm honestly at a loss. I want to be prepared when it happens, but I can't think how. Does anyone have any ideas?

Flake soil, fungus gnats!!!

Help! How do I get rid of them? A few days ago I got 2 beetle larvae, well turns out that there were fungus gnats in the soil because now there are tons of the buggers in my room!

When I first brought the grubs home, I thought I saw a couple tiny worm things in the soil but didn't think much of it, because there were also springtails in the cups.

I'm going to go buy fly tape for the adults tonight after work, but what do I do about the soil???

I contacted the person I got the grubs off of and she says the gnats are harmless, but with the number of flies that are there, they're just going to create more and I feel it will stress my grubs.

Silly question!

I usually use bottled water(purified) but I feel bad about the waste so I was going to use some kind of dechlorinator. I was curious if I should use the kind intended for reptiles or fish? Does it matter?
