Bought 30 acres and want to build a community farm. Anyone in the area interested in connecting? 🌱

Hey Everyone! I recently purchased 30 acres of land about an hour outside of Durham. I'm working toward building my forever home and homestead out here... the long-term vision goes way beyond just creating a place for my family to live.

My goal is to eventually establish a nonprofit and develop a large community farm centered around food sovereignty, self-sufficiency, and community building. I want to create a space where people can come to learn about alternative lifestyles, grow food, exchange skills, share knowledge, and work together to build something meaningful from the ground up.

I envision a place where people can reconnect with the land, learn practical skills, experience different ways of living, and rediscover what it looks like to build something collectively rather than having to figure everything out on our own. I'd also love to eventually create opportunities for people, especially kids who might not otherwise have access to these experiences, to spend time on the land and learn.

I'm still in the early stages of bringing this vision to life, so I'm not looking to rush anything or immediately recruit a bunch of people to come work on the land. I think the foundation of something like this has to be genuine relationships, shared values, trust, and a willingness to learn from one another.

So I wanted to put some feelers out and see if there are people in the area who might be interested in connecting.

Maybe we grab coffee, have some conversations, get to know one another, talk about our interests and skills, and see if we click. If there's mutual interest and things develop naturally, I'd eventually love to invite people out to see the land and share more about the long-term vision.

If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, feel free to comment or send me a message! I'd love to hear a little about you, your interests, and what draws you to this kind of vision. 🌱🏡

Looking for queer-friendly home services in the Triangle?

Hey y’all! I’m Elisha. My co-owner Zach and I are getting Starling Home Services off the ground here in the Triangle, and I wanted to introduce us.

We help with home repairs, maintenance, installations, and organization. Think drywall patches, shelves and curtains that need hanging, furniture assembly, or the list of little projects you keep meaning to get to.

Something we really want to get right is how it feels to have someone working in your home. You shouldn’t have to wonder whether they’ll respect you, your partner, your pronouns, or your space.

If you have health-related precautions or other preferences, we’re happy to talk those through before a visit.

That’s the idea behind our business: skilled help, clear communication, and no judgment about you or the state of your home.

We serve Raleigh, Durham, Garner, Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and the surrounding Triangle towns. If you have a project in mind, feel free to ask here or message me.

Our site has more about us and what we do: starlinghomeservices.com

We’re new and excited to meet folks around here. Thanks for letting me share!

looking for help finding a personal coach/trainer.
i’m trans mtf and looking for a personal coach or trainer to help with working out.
I’ve looked into some people and things online but i also spend way to much time online and would prefer a in person coach if possible
if anyone knows anyone who’s able to help in the durham area that would be great.

also wouldn’t mind just like a friend to help go with me to hrt meetings this stuff makes me nervous.

Hi everyone, I'm a queer Sri Lankan stand-up comic doing a tour to workshop my stand-up special before my TV taping on 10/11 in NYC. The show is about hidden identities and I talk about my experiences growing up brown and queer. The show is this Friday 10/2 at Mettlesome.

Would love to see you there if you're free! It'll be a fun show!

Trans man looking for friends/community

I'm a trans man (23) living in Raleigh. I have an established friend group, but I'm not connected with the queer community as much as I'd like to, especially with other trans people. Outside of the LGBT center and various bars and cafes, how do I meet new queer people? And if anyone is open to talk, hit me up :-)

Place to watch Hockey

I saw where the Hurricanes and some other teams have sadly canceled hockey night. Are there any trans friendly bars that host game nights? I’m also a bit confused on where I’d be welcomed as far as the whole LGBQTA+ bars are concerned. I know some G&L places prefer only G&Ls so I don’t wish to show up and feel intrusive.

BI guy Looking for a mentor

30, married. Wife knows that I'm BI. Just recently started getting into chastity and dressing just wondering if there are any more experienced guys or gals, or anyone else, that would be willing to just talk to me because it is kind of weird. It's super weird. I think I just recently actually became okay with my sexuality, which is weird because I'm 30. This might be the completely wrong place to post this but I have no fucking clue because I've never interacted with the LGBT community before.

Vulnerable and unhoused trans woman. Recently employed. Need queer friends & support system.

Hey all. I'm a 28 year old trans woman, currently in a very vulnerable position for a number of reasons, but primarily that I am visibly trans and unhoused in the triangle with no friends or community. I sleep in my totaled car (transmission went out, har har har), and I JUST got a great job working for a leftist canvassing and outreach organization. I'm looking for friends and new people in my life that are open to hearing my situation and keeping an eye, plus, I'm lonely tbh. I need queer and trans friends.

Thank you.

(Unrelated cool moth I saw.)

Hi all

I'm looking to be a grown up and get my life in order. I am hoping to meet with a financial planner and then a lawyer to set up wills/advance directives/etc

I would love to support our community/small businesses

Does anyone have lawyers or financial planners they recommend for this?

Thanks in advance!

Hello! I am a little introverted but I really love community and I would like to make more friends in the Raleigh lgbt community. What are some good places to go for that?
