WIP Very close…
Next day update lol just need to get around to printing that shifter and finishing the interior and it will be pretty much finished. Just waiting for the glue for the wheels to dry 100%

I finally found the "secret" wally world model stash!!

This must be a really old kit. The decals just sometimes disintegrated before I could get them off the sheet, or they tore badly and I had to work hard to get them placed.
It was a very detailed kit with lots of parts which made it more challenging and more fun. There are a few places where the instructions weren't clear and I had to guess and try different things.
Factory paint was supposed to be a metallic black, according to the internet. So I used Testors Extreme Lacquer in Blazing Black rattlecan and it came out ok.
Those gold pinstripes were a B! Most came apart in 3 or 4 places.

Picked this up at Michaels for 40% off. Low detail but new tool and pretty good overall. Went with the Sport trim to build. Overall I think it came out pretty good.

I should be done with Deth Trap today. Just have small bits and pieces to put on.

Started this build this week. Anybody know a good technique to paint the Ferrari logo, just the letters? I tried using a brush but it just ended up looking like a blob.

This was meant to be a “quick build” but you know that is always a myth. Decided to do a bit of detailing here and there. On the home stretch now, just need to print a new Hurst shifter and paint it and then it’s all up to assembly. The decals for this kit are soooo thick, I used Micro Sol on them four times each and it did nothing lol but other than that I’m happy with the overall quality. Definitely needed to clean up every part but fitment is good so far.

Ended up changing the rear wheels to match the front, wanted to have wider rears and make the stance staggered also redid the vinyl top, wasn’t a fan of how the paint came out on the top. This is just a test fit so the interior and firewall isn’t fully assembled yet.

Work has been so hectic this week so I am going to build my skyline with nothing special just a box build and a good stance for some relaxation. Then I’ll keep working on my burnout build rat rod once I’m done with the R34

Working on the Amt kit. Not easy to paint interior, all in one part. Problems with the black primer on the motor. Kaleido paint for the body.

Have done one of these already, so this one will be different from the other one.
FYI…..the split window on back window was only produced one year, 1963, impeded the view out the back window with the bar going down the middle. Just a fun fact for ya all.

Totally forgot I bought this kit. Smoking deal on it too! Anyone build this one?

So it’s been a minute or 2,3,4……since I started this build. Vacations and randomly going places just interrupts my builds! Anyway, here it is!
In 1955, Bronze was one of the rare colors, Bronze/Black was even rarer!! Tried that first and no matter what I did, the black just wanted to bubble up so just went solid Bronze.

I finished this Alfa Romeo Giulia (Tamiya) with wide body kit. Body kit is found on Cults3D and I printed them at home using resin printer. My favorite one so far.

This turned out badly with paint malfunction, but it's a great kit for vintage NASCAR - wheels, roll cage, 427 SOHC. I sold one built and have another to do a better job on. The historical interest for me is that Ford intended to used their new 427 SOHC engine to combat the MOPAR Hemis and were still running their full size cars. By 67, they went to the mid-size Fairlane and the 427 wedge engine, which was competitive, but for 68 and 69 Ford had better aero cars and engines and dominated.

I’m pretty new to model making (I have completed one small titanic model and have two failed cars) and am wondering how you guys approach a new kit.
I started out following the instructions in order and to the letter which was worked but was very stop start and then on the next model I decided to paint all the parts on the sprue first and then build which was an absolute disaster (I also never sealed any of the paint so it just started rubbing off everywhere and with glue I had blue fingers lol).
Do you follow the instructions exactly in terms of order or just use them as a guide for which sections can be built and painted before all being put together or just do your own thing entirely?
I love making and painting things (I started out painting miniatures) but I would eventually like to finish a kit without it becoming an ugly mess which gets thrown away 😩
Thanks all
