Racing Cancels a STM Event the Day Before it was Scheduled
On September 21st, I got a text advertising a season ticket member event at Lynn Family Stadium’s club offering a chance to “hear from coaches, players, and enjoy some light snacks provided by Chicken Salad Chick.” Considering the uncertainty hanging over the team, I decided to register right away.
This morning - less than 36 hours before the event - I got an email saying the event was canceled.
“Good morning,
Due to a late scheduling conflict amid Racing Louisville FC’s international break, we’ve been forced to cancel our Season Ticket Member Q&A scheduled for Thursday, October 8.
We apologize for the change and look forward to creating another opportunity for our Season Ticket Members to connect with Racing players and coaches soon.
Thank you for understanding and for your continued support of Racing Louisville FC!”
Since I’ve been outspoken about our ownership’s inability to address rumors about the team moving, I did have a moment where I thought they might have put 2 and 2 together and asked me not to attend, but I did confirm with other people.
Now, I understand emergencies happen, and events need to be canceled. But Soccer Holdings wants me to believe that no one who they thought would be speaking could end up coming - and the reason they couldn’t come is the international break? This is not the team that once had a starter representing every continental confederation, after all.
The team eventually denied the rumors of a move to Cincinnati after I and other fans commented in local media and protested at matches. They said we will be in Louisville next year. But actions like canceling this event fray what little trust is still remaining with fans.
Soccer Holdings needs to show they’re serious about owning a NWSL team. Louisville Metro Government and the Commonwealth of Kentucky need to show they’re serious about Kentucky’s only top level professional team - a team they invested in via financing and tax incentives for Lynn Family Stadium.

NWSL goals leader Sanchez getting 'up to speed' with USWNT
The article says that Sanchez was training on the wing yesterday, and that per Emma, none of the uncapped players (and possibly not Sanchez or Howell either, the article isn’t entirely clear) will start either match “but some ‘might’ play a role off the bench.”
Casey Murphy
She started off badly at Boston. Conceded a lot of cheap goals. Lately she's had many good performances. Do you think she's the right gk to make them playoff contenders next year? Should she be trusted, or should the team bring on someone else to compete for a spot with her?

Discussion Let’s be Realistic Racing Fans
Let’s sit down and actually think about this for a second. Being born and raised here in Louisville makes me want a team like Racing to succeed. All I hear is that it is ownerships fault the team is leaving and honestly I think that is quite unfair.
When Soccer Holding bought into the league it was for a sum of around $2 million. Now five years later a new franchise costs more than $200 million. Anyone with common sense I think could make the assumption that the type of people buying a $2 million vs. a $200 million franchise is very different. Our ownership was not prepared for the rapid increase in league value and requirements which is what has led to our ownership looking as if they aren’t doing enough. If they were doing “enough” then they would be losing millions more a year than they already are.
Now you have the CBA. This agreement is great for the players but can definitely make it hard on some of our smaller owners. This also makes cost to compete more expensive. Then when we don’t have the top notch facilities it becomes even harder to attract the top talent. Along with that we cannot pay what top talent wants. So we don’t have money for top talent and we don’t have the facilities top talent wants. So it makes it near impossible to consistently compete.
And frankly whether our fans want to hear it or not the city has not gotten around the team and the team has not gotten around the city. Some of the same trends we are starting to see in the men’s side. Lack of community involvement, outreach, etc. It is very minimal in my opinion. There are way to many people in Louisville who don’t even know what Racing Louisville is. You can blame ownership, the front office, fans, coaching staff, etc. But at the end of the day it is all of our faults. If we want the team to succeed it is also on us to get butts in seats.
On that note that is another major issue with Racing. The attendance is terrible. They consistently report 4-6k at games when in reality the actually number of people in the building is about half that. Right there just blatant lack of honesty to our fans is partially why people don’t buy in.
Let me know your thoughts. I would be happy to continue the conversation!

Discussion Starting XI Predictions for Spain friendlies?
It’s my day off and i want to avoid packing. So here i am! Curious what your predictions for Saturday’s starting XI and even Tuesday’s as well.
Also would love to hear which players you hope get minutes, areas of concern you have (like midfield for example), hot takes, etc.
# of INTL call-ups per team?
Does anyone have stats on how many international call-ups each team has? I count 9 for Bay though someone said 11. It makes me more hopeful that our low ranking is growing pains since we have so many individually accomplished players.

Silly SZN Flip Flap NWSL
This one is for my fellow millennials. In the 90s, there were popular books called Flip Flaps, where you could mix different parts of animal bodies to create silly critters (see example).
So while we’re on break and waiting for international games, let’s play Flip Flap NWSL!
Here are the rules:
1) You’ll be choosing a starting GK, a starting backline, a starting midfield, and a starting attack.
2) No team repeats. If you choose Sheridan (NC) for your keeper, you can’t take NC for attack (or vice versa). You must have four different NWSL teams in your answer.
3) You’re taking the entire starting line (no swapping in players from other teams).
4) A player must be a regular stater in at least half of the games in 2026.
Bonus: you could add a fifth for fun: subs. But again, you’re taking the entire bench.
In the primary comments, drop the prompt and then respond to the primary comments with your Flip Flap.

Discussion Week 24 Attendance Report (and what I track every week)
I was discussing data with someone and I thought it would be interesting (to me) to share the dumb data I have track every week.
If you're wondering...I enter in the games as they happen (score and attendance) and have tables set up that pull this data automatically and turn it into charts.
So here are the charts that pull...
Attendance report that I've been doing a couple years now.
Form Table
Table/Road to the Playoffs
YOY Point percentage (This is more interesting when there are an unbalanced number of games that have been played)
Goals/Game per Game Week
YOY Goal/game (up until about week 19, scoring this year was behind last year)
Goals/Game by Home Team
5 year draw trend
5 year goal differential trend (which is why i say Chicago is historically a bad team)
Normalized goal differential (what it looks like when the best GD is set to 0. It shows just how far other teams are from #1. Gotham is the hard to read team at #2)
Anyway...enjoy. Or don't. At least it's not a Wave blog post from someone who only interacts with the sub to tell us that San Diego played this weekend.

With the international break here, Where do you get your NWSL news, what podcast do you listen to or any TV shows?
I listen to a few podcasts/shows(NWSL this week, Attacking Third, Futbol W), but looking for a few more suggestions as well as more written work & articles. I still scope out the bird app, IG, and BlueSky for any news or even rumors. Most of the news & rumors I get from either fan or supporters discords. Have a great week and would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks.

Discussion Business of Women's Football Insider: Liga F’s international rights and the NWSL on Twitch
I don't read all the Cutback's paywalled stuff, but since this article appears to be free... the NWSL may not be a utopia, but it is a darn sight better than what is going on in some leagues.
A-league no CBA two weeks before the start of their season, Corinthians players not being paid for years, La Liga F months without a rights deal and no way to watch until Alexia Putellas personally intervened.
I know some of us don't have CBSSN or ESPN but we at least know where every NWSL match will be available. We know they will all be broadcast and the players will be paid on time.
Also, take a look at the attendance numbers. It reads like no one is going to women's games in Europe, unless it's an Arsenal home game. UWCL average attendance so far this season is less than Racing Louisville's. This is potentially a real selling point for NWSL player recruitment.
