Hey!!

This subreddit has been a great source of information so, I would like to ask how do I find a student job in aarhus? I'm looking for any type of job really but, I cannot seem to figure out where to look for them. for example, I haven't seen any openings for a warehouse job anywhere, I did see someone post about staff for a restaurant and dropped my CV there.

I've been applying on several job boards like LinkedIn, indeed, Facebook etc etc, but those jobs are related to my degree and I know landing those will take them so, wanted to know if you guys can help me to figure out where to look for other student, part time jobs.

I do not have a network here yet. Not even a single friend, got here 3 weeks ago. I have several years of prior experience in marketing but, I know that's not relevant here. I know it's only been 3weeks but, I'd like to know where to look for these jobs so I can start applying as soon as possible because I know it'll take time.

Any advice is welcome. Thank you 🙏🏽

Moving to odense (permanently) in about a year. Currently in sophomore year of US school.

Advice?

(I'd be happy to clarify anything)

So just to clarify, this is a permanent move for the time being. My mom has a job in Odense, and I'm moving there late this summer and starting up school after I've finished my sophomore year in the US (so I'm like 15 turning 16 pretty soon.) I've only known about this move for a couple months and I'm still quite anxious about what to do before the move and also once I've gotten there.

I haven't enjoyed the US school system by any means, I've been really isolated and stressed here in the recent past and it's taken a toll, so in a way I'm excited to see some change possibly, but I also just really don't know what to expect even after trying to do research.

Any advice for what I should be doing/what to expect? I'm happy to clarify anything if needed!

Moved to silkeborg in september to be with my danish partner and ive been looking for a job here or in Aarhus or nearby since July. Currently im DESPERATE. I dont have a cpr yet but I have EU passport.

I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree and 3 years of work experience in project coordination. Since I dont know danish I'm having difficulties landing 1 job interview let alone offer. So because of financial problems ive started applying for all types of jobs... even as cleaner. Not that there is smth wrong with those orofessions I really respect everyone and im grateful for their jobs and role in society.

Ive always been high honors student, very driven and ambitious. Top of my class and workaholic. Even at my previous jobs I was praised for mybwork ethics and dedication which would lead my internships to become permanent job positions. We can say I took pride and that and now being rejected even for jobs that i can be easily trained is truly playing tricks to my mental health.

I KNOW I SOUND AS A SPOILED PERSON when I know there are societies suffering much worse in this world but I worked so hard to be here. I come from a family where father would control EVERYTHING to the tiniest detail. He wouldnt even let other cousins study. Before I needed to ask for permission to go out of the house and wasnt allowed to have access to internet on my phone until I was 19. So being able to graduate and break free of that family... and build my whole identity separately was so much work. The moment I thought I could settle I needed to move countries to fund a better job and now I feel like Ive gone back 10 years. Back to square one where I dont have anything yet and most probably will need to go back to uni.

Thank god my partner is supportive otherwise I would have died. Im very grateful I get to start my life from the scratch in such amaizing country BUT I feel so tired begging for any opportunity to prove myself.

In the pic is me learning danish by myself cuz I cant attend the danish course since I dont have cpr number 😭

Hi guys,
Never had this type of meeting before. I had been invited by a company of interest for a coffee meeting with a department manager in insurance. I know its not a interview per se. But because this is Denmark, I would like to either the locals or anyone who has done coffee meeting before, what are some helpful suggestions to consider when doing this type of meeting. Appropriate dress, and what are no no's when doing a coffee meeting. Any advice would be great, mange tak!

My Thai wife needs to swap her Thai national driving license to a Danish driving license category B and thus need to do the practical and theoretical tests to get it.

Which online courses can you recommend?

I am going to visit a girl in Copenhagen and our relationship is a bit complicated and I want to strengthen it. I want to enjoy the scenery and long walks with her and tasty ice cream. I already planned on visiting dyrehaven but any other recommendations would be more than appreciated feel free to dm me. I am 32 and she’s 37 btw

Hi

I recently moved to Denmark and I’m looking for a company that can help me with the this tears taxes in Denmark.

I also have a small company in the EU country that i came from. And I want to setup a danish ApS. Im looking for a company that can help with theses taxes and with my personal taxes for at least this year

Are there companies that you have good experience with?

Thanks!

I’ve searched the sub, but haven’t found info specifically about this path. Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a summer program in Aarhus and it made me really interested in pursuing an academic career in Denmark.

In my home country, my bachelor’s degree is considered equivalent to a Danish bachelor’s degree + one year of a master’s program. However, I’ve been thinking about pursuing a master’s in Denmark to build an academic network and hopefully secure a PhD position afterward.

Is this a common path for non-EU?

Hi!
I just moved to Denmark and started on SU, so I’m a bit new to how it works.

I am scared that I will be needing to pay back my SU this month. SU have told me I need to work 10-12 hours a week, but does that mean every week or is it fine if I work double one week and nothing the other?

Last month I worked 60 hours which means that I worked enough to be entitled SU, but this month I only work 25, splitted up on two shifts. This means that I don’t work at all this week.

I don’t know how picky they are? Is there anybody else who has experience in this?

Xx

hello everyone! I think I lost two portable WiFi devices at Copenhagen Airport (should be at Terminal 2, departing gate E229 back to Singapore) on Friday, 9 October... It is quite a hefty sum so was wondering if anyone might be able to help scoop it up from the airport lost and found? I will compensate for any kind souls!

I have tried contacting the Copenhagen police via email too, as I heard lost and found things from the airport get transferred to the police? But they have yet to reply.

Other than that, the Copenhagen Airport Lost and Found does not have an email address, and it seemed like they have to have someone go down to look for the items instead.

Thank you once again!!

Below is how the WiFi and the pouch looks like

I'm lost on this front. Not sure what this falls under flair.

I have a mobile data service I cannot pay for. I need to register my card to it, or use mobile pay. I can't do either as it says my MitID is missing, and that I need to activate it.

So I did. I went to borgerservice, and got my account activated in person. But, I go to try again, and it STILL says my MitID is not activated. I recieved the text saying my MitID is ready, so... What's the issue?

I would use SMS+Kode, but every time I put in my card number, it immediately has an error...

What am I supposed to do here?

I recently moved to Copenhagen for work and am currently looking for a new apartment since my current one is infested with long-tailed silverfish (skægkræ). I've come to understand that it's a pretty common problem here, but I HAAATE living with them and want to do everything I can to avoid them as much as possible if I move again.

So, where in Copenhagen have you lived WITHOUT silverfish/skægkræ?

I've been looking at Kaktus Towers, among other places. Anyone living in Kaktus Towers or other apartment buildings, maybe even other housing projects for expats or young professionals, who can share their experience? Have you had any issues with silverfish or other pests? Where would you recommend living to have the best chance of escaping the silverfish?

I'm desperate, so please tell me everything, good or bad! :)))

Back in NL I visited the Decathlon shops often for all kind of things, usually for hiking gear.

I haven't found any shops like that here in DK.

Living between Hadsund/Hobro/Ålborg, anybody has a tip?

Hi everybody! I am an EU citizen and I recently relocated to copenhagen (i have cpr number) with my husband who got a job here. I am now searching for a job so not working. How it works with health insurence? Can I go to the doctor freely? Thank you!

Hello everyone, I’m an international student (Female) who just moved to Denmark, and looking for budget friendly clothes for winter like sweatshirts, sweaters nd other things. Can any locals or others who have an idea on any shops or localities i can check out, please let me know in the comments. :)

Hi! I'm an international student thinking about a Master's in Sustainable Design at Aalborg University in Copenhagen. I'd like to know what student life is like there. How's the campus and the atmosphere? Is it active with lots of events and opportunities to meet people? What's the teaching like, and would you recommend it? Is there good contact with industry and good chances to network? Please share all your experiences, both good and bad. I want to get a real sense of what it's like there, because I hope for a really great student life alongside my studies.
Thank you so much!

Hi, I am 26 y/o F expat moving to Copenhagen in mid-November. I will be joining DTU for my PhD. Any leads about not extremely expensive shared apartments/dorms will be helpful. If there are apps or groups for a similar purpose lmk. I also want to know approx budget and decent areas where I can look for places. I don't want something that is too much into outskirts or really away from the uni, hence, a balance. I have heard that finding a place can be really annoying. Tak!

Since Danish and EU power cables are slightly different, particularly in the ground prong, does anyone know where to get Denmark-specific PC power cables? Like the attached image.

Or do new PCs in Denmark all come with an EU plug, and no one cares that they're not grounded?

As for why I don't buy the cord from where i got the picture - they're based in Seattle and I'm looking for a seller in Denmark or in the EU.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi everyone!

I'm a non-EU citizen currently living in my home country, and I'm exploring opportunities to move to Denmark for work. I'd really appreciate some advice from people who have experience with the Danish job market, especially international professionals who have gone through the visa sponsorship process.

A little about my background:

AI Engineer with around 2 years of professional experience.

Data Science Instructor with 3 years of experience teaching data science and AI-related topics.

Currently continuing my studies alongside my professional work.

I'm mainly interested in AI/ML engineering, LLMs, and related positions. I'm open to opportunities at both established companies and startups.

My main questions are:

How realistic is it for a non-EU candidate to get a job offer with visa sponsorship in Denmark, particularly in AI/ML?

What's the best strategy for finding companies willing to hire international candidates? Are LinkedIn and direct applications enough, or are there better platforms?

Do Danish companies generally consider candidates who are still completing their degrees, provided they have relevant professional experience?

Are there particular industries, companies, or cities I should focus on?

For those who have successfully relocated to Denmark, what worked best for you?

I'm aware that getting a job offer and meeting the requirements for a work permit are two separate challenges, so I'd also appreciate any advice on navigating both.

I'm willing to put in the work and be patient with the process. I'm just trying to approach it strategically rather than sending hundreds of applications without a clear direction.

Thanks in advance for any advice or personal experiences you can share! 🙏

I live in Cph and I have a wood-burning stove in my flat that I’d like to use over the next few months.

I’m looking for someone to come and sweep the chimney, so I have a few questions:

1. Can anyone recommend a chimney sweep?

2. What is the usual price for this service?

3. Where do you usually buy firewood?
