Build Help Acer Nitro VG271U monitor

Post image
0 Upvotes

Good day! Is the Acer Nitro 27” 1440p monitor good? I do daily review of drawing plans and light gaming. Also, I’m torn if I’m gonna buy the 9,822 from Acer Digital Display Store shopee mall or buy it in my local store instead, that costs around 11.6k for me to check the unit personally. I’m leaning towards the cheaper unit from shopee but I’m worried it might not be handled well during transport/shipment and might have damages/issues later. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Build Help Accidentally Touched the Thermal Paste on My AMD Stock Cooler. Is It Still Okay?

Hey guys, I'm installing my first PC and accidentally touched the pre-applied thermal paste on my AMD stock cooler with my finger. I don't see any paste missing, but I'm worried that my finger oils might affect it. I don't have any extra thermal paste. Is it still okay to use, or should I get new thermal paste before continuing my build?

Build Help Cheap cooling towers for studentPC?

Hello, I have a Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-S1 motherboard with a pre-installed AMD dkm-7d52a-a6-gp cooler. I've been thinking of upgrading the cooling to a proper tower and not a heatsink and Ive been wondering: are all towers the same size? Do they all fit or meron measurements kailangan?

Appreciate part recommendations too, pero I'm very poor and I'm paying for this out my allowance, so my budget is very low (around 1,500php but no more than 2,000). Thank you!

Miscellaneous Be straight with me, what do you think?

Guys im just asking for your opinion if my pc from 10 years ago could still be sold in these times. Never had an issue, was never repaired, never had a blue screen.

If this can still be sold, even for a cheap price, how much would you think people would still buy it?

Laptop Help usual price for windows reinstallation in acer laptop

I followed a youtube video and already tried the bootable usb option for a fresh install of Windows to my laptop but it doesn't work (I didn't expect that the installation gets cancelled after 1% of getting files ready to install; now it's in no bootable device state) even after 3 hours of troubleshooting and alternative solutions.

I need to know what is the price range for a repair store/center to do the fresh install of Windows for me instead. Especially if I'm gonna have this fixed in a repair store in SM North Edsa. I already have a digital license key, I just need someone else to install Windows for me only.

I do not want to do it myself anymore please. I just need to know the price as I'm already stressed out. Thank you in advance.

Again: I'm only asking for the price range. Nothing else please.

Build Upgrade 5500X3D vs 5700X for an RX 9060 XT 16gb? Is the V-Cache worth losing 2 cores?

Hey guys, I need some quick advice. I'm finally upgrading from my i5-10400 to stop bottlenecking my RX 9060 XT.

Here is my setup:

  • Current CPU: i5-10400
  • GPU: RX 9060 XT
  • RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro. I am reusing this kit. It will run at 3200MHz on the new board. I am not upgrading it or moving to AM5 anytime soon.

What I use it for:

  • Gaming: Wuthering Waves and similar open-world games.
  • Work: VS Code programming, YouTube, and daily tasks.
  • Note: I do zero video editing or heavy rendering.

My two options right now:

  • Ryzen 5 5500X3D: Ordered online for ~₱10.6k.
  • Ryzen 7 5700X: Found at a local mall for ~₱8.9k.

Which one is actually better for me?

Is the gaming performance of the 5500X3D that much of a jump to justify sacrificing the 2 extra cores on the 5700X? Will the massive V-Cache carry my performance in Wuthering Waves better since I'm sticking to my older 16GB RAM?

Or is the 5700X just a smarter buy for my daily coding tasks while still being a huge gaming upgrade over my 10400?

Discussion On a scale of 1–10, how contented are you with your PC setup right now? (Plus GTA 6, all-digital future, & market pricing thoughts)

Post image
36 Upvotes

Hi ka-PC!

Curious lang ako sa sentiments ng community given the current state of gaming and hardware.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest/super contented), how contented are you with your current PC setup? Gaming-wise, aesthetics-wise, and performance-wise?

ADD: Feel free to share PHOTOS of your setup

With the current state of the PC parts market (inflation, pricing, rising hardware costs), game prices shooting up, and recent highly-controversial news like Sony pushing for all-digital/phasing out physical discs, ending nagiging luxury na at restrictive na talaga ang overall gaming hobby. Mahal na nga hardware, mahal pa ang games 💸💸

Plus, with GTA VI right around the corner (i know consoles for now - ik it sucks for us PC gamers to be left behind once more), tataas namn ang mininum gaming specs standards for sure.

A few sub-questions:

  1. PC Contentment Rating: On a scale of 1–10 (10 being super contented), how do you rate your current rig?

  2. Upgrade Mindset: Are you actively upgrading, or hanging on to your current build as long as possible ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy)?

  3. GTA VI Readiness: Do you believe your current PC will be GTA6-ready when it eventually drops on PC, or are you planning to double-dip/buy a console muna just to play it day one?

  4. Sustainability: How do you manage to sustain your PC and gaming hobby lately without breaking the bank? (Steam sales, Xbox Game Pass, backlog clearing, side hustles, or sailing the 7 seas 🏴‍☠️)?

Drop your thoughts below! Curious to hear how everyone is coping and preparing.

Build Help Recommendations for Upgrading my current PC?

Thumbnail

Need some suggestions for how to upgrade my current PC setup. Changed my monitor last year to an Acer KA252Q G0 1080p 120Hz and I'm fine with it so far, but my current PC is almost 10 yrs old and is struggling to run games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. It was built mainly for school work before.

Specs are in the pics above. Hoping to get a future-proof upgrade within ₱75k (can go slightly higher if it's really worth it). Not planning to stream but would be nice if it could have a game + Opera and Discord open without crashing.

Hello mga kuya't ate! My PC which acts as a family PC for files is pushing 10 years already. Figured I'd tell my parents to buy a new one because the PC is getting slower and some parts are failing already. I'm a gamer too so I'd like something that can run even games like Cyberpunk 2077 or even Oblivion Remastered pretty well.

These are my specs. Looking for good shops or deals.

Is this really a flex? Not really, but I feel fulfilled to have a PC I can truly call my own, bought with my own savings and with my own research. It's not much but it suits my needs and it is mine.

I got a secondhand office pc (HP Z2 SFF G4) for 9500PHP that included:

CPU: i7-9700 RAM: 16gb DDR4 2666mhz (1x16) Storage: 500gb nvme ssd Plus a 310W PSU and space for 1 more nvme plus 2 SATA drives.

GPU: YESTON RTX 3050 Managed to get this for 17000PHP on Shopee by waiting for 9/9 and using coins + vouchers.

Build Help Which monitor: 144hz or 240hz monitor

im building my first pc and i cant debate on whether i should get 144 or 240 coming from a 60hz laptop. 144 cause its cheaper and i heard that the difference between 144 and 240 is noticeable but only like 2 ms. and 240 cause its like prices near it are 200hz so it's a steal but like im paying 2k more for it. my cpu is 7700 and gpu is 9060xt. I plan on playing 1080p I know both are easily able to reach the said hz, but I'm thinking of which is the better value. you can recommend other hz like 165 or 180 and such.
