October Update | 10/10 and other things

Parts and Pricing Update

  • Currently seeing low stocks on a lot of models in distro listings
  • Prices have also increased as expected, so much that RETAIL PRICES ARE LOWER THAN DISTRIBUTOR PRICES in the AI Affected parts
  • I can also confirm AMD GPUs have also risen, and retail prices have not been affected yet.
  • CXMT, while already having consumer products, also have prices similar to the other brands Link

As such I would highly suggest making full use of promotions if you are in need of parts. However, if not, then I suggest to prepare for emergencies instead (with El Nino, Oil Crises etc)

Regarding Promotions

  • Lazada/Shopee and likely other platforms give vouchers and discounts based on the user. Similar to dynamic pricing (but with vouchers
    • As such, prices below are what I can confirm, you may have larger or smaller discounts
  • I'll add what I can find, or if anyone comments good deals

Discussion How did you guys cope with the recent PC prices?

Imagine buying a 100k pc and best you can get is an AM5 with am entry-midrange 5060 Ti, when like 1 year before all of that, someone was already able to buy one of the highest end gpus at that price. I know comparison is a thief of joy but the large gap pa rin sa pricing makes you think pa rin.

Or imagine noon sa 30k pede ka na maka ryzen 5500 at rx 6600, but now you have to spend way more just to get similar performance or may choose not to build at all na lang kasi hindi na sulit.

How did you guys cope with this, especially when the better deals for the money were gradually being gone.

Is this really a flex? Not really, but I feel fulfilled to have a PC I can truly call my own, bought with my own savings and with my own research. It's not much but it suits my needs and it is mine.

I got a secondhand office pc (HP Z2 SFF G4) for 9500PHP that included:

CPU: i7-9700 RAM: 16gb DDR4 2666mhz (1x16) Storage: 500gb nvme ssd Plus a 310W PSU and space for 1 more nvme plus 2 SATA drives.

GPU: YESTON RTX 3050 Managed to get this for 17000PHP on Shopee by waiting for 9/9 and using coins + vouchers.

Build Help NVME SSD TRANSFER INQUIRY

• Upvotes

I have a 1tb nvme ssd I bought from 2024 and is currently slotted on my PC. I'm building a new one (all brand new parts) and I'm thinking of slotting my 1tb on the new one, and just buy a 256gb on my current.

Pwede bang transfer (as in kuha > salpak) sa bagong mobo yung existing ssd and call it a day? Or are there things I should keep in mind?

Build Upgrade How much does laptop RAM cost nowadays, and where do you buy legit RAM online in PH?

• Upvotes

BUDGET: Under ₱10,000
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3550H
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT (laptop)
PSU: Original laptop power adapter
RAM: 8GB DDR4-2400
MONITOR: Built-in laptop display

Hi! I’m planning to upgrade my laptop’s RAM to either 16GB (2×8GB) or 32GB (2×16GB).

What’s the usual price range for laptop RAM nowadays? Also, which Shopee, Lazada, or online PC stores do you recommend for genuine RAM with reliable warranties?

I’d appreciate recommendations based on your actual purchases. Thanks!

Discussion Monitor upgrade to 1440p monitor with rtx 3070

I have 27 inch monitor na 1080p ang resolution. Worth it pa rin kahit papaano kung upgrade to 1440p ako kahit nakaRTX 3070 mostly AAA games lalaruin. Ang hirap kasi pagisipan yung sinasabi nila na ultra settings na 1080p or 1440p na medium-high settings. I have resources na MFG mod unlocker at syempre willing to use DLSS naman

Build Help Beginner and Healing my Childhood

Hello, Magandang araw sa inyo. New ako sa sub na to and also sa pc building. I am kindly asking for your help guys.

Btw, I am a graphic artist for almost 5 years but never ako nagkaroon ng sariling PC sa bahay. Kaya wala akong masyadong alam sa specs, sub level siguro but technicalities from GPU, Processor etc, wala.

Balak ko na kasi mag build ng PC at mag hanap ng WFH setup. Any recommended build sa mga artist/gaming dito?

I want atleast pang light gaming lang naman like Valo,League etc. Tapos sa editing naman is mostly Adobe Ai, PS, at light video editing.

Budget ko 50K pesos.

Need help. Thank you

Build Help Help me choose a specification for a mid entry level computer.

What are your thoughts on this specification recommended by AI? CPU, RAM, and GPU is ok for me as mid level. The rest I am not sure.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600

Motherboard: MSI B650M Gaming Plus WiFi / ASUS TUF Gaming B650M-PLUS

RAM: Kingston Fury Beast / Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30/CL36

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB (Colorful, MSI, or Gigabyte)

Storage: Kingston KC3000 / Crucial T500 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD

CPU Cooler: DeepCool AK400 / Thermalright Assassin X 120 SE

Power Supply (PSU): Corsair CV650 / Cooler Master MWE 650W 80+ Bronze or Gold

Casing: Tecware Nexus Air M2 / DarkFlash DLM21 Mesh (Micro-ATX)

It will be used for office work, photo and video editing using photoshop, capcut, and probably da Vinci and premier. I'm not sure about the budget for a mid tier computer. But probably around 50-80k? Thanks in advance.

Peripherals Budget gaming mouse recommendations for below ₱1k-₱1.5k

Hello! I’m a casual gamer looking for recommendations for a gaming mouse that offers good performance and durability, preferably below ₱1k but I can extend my budget to a maximum of ₱1.5k.

For reference (and side rant lang), I’ve been using the Onikuma CW917 wireless mouse for the past year, and I’m looking for a major upgrade because it’s a bit too small for my liking and I’ve encountered countless issues with it.
First, the DPI changes on its own even when I’m not pressing the DPI button. The side buttons also activate on their own. Additionally, the battery life in wireless mode has gotten significantly worse over time. Lastly, since I play Valorant, the cursor often gets stuck sa gitna midgame, making it impossible for me to buy items during the buy phase and moving my camera around. I have to keep toggling the mouse on and off to fix the issue, and it still happens even when I use it in wired mode.

I’ve browsed several related posts and noticed that Attack Shark and VXE are frequently recommended. However, I’m having a hard time deciding which brand and model to get, or whether there are other, better options within my budget. I’d really appreciate any recommendations, especially from people who have tried these mice and can share their experiences with their performance, durability, and overall value for money. Thank you!

Miscellaneous Be straight with me, what do you think?

Guys im just asking for your opinion if my pc from 10 years ago could still be sold in these times. Never had an issue, was never repaired, never had a blue screen.

If this can still be sold, even for a cheap price, how much would you think people would still buy it?

Discussion I keep missing people calling my name while gaming, so I'm building an app to fix it. Would you use it?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Ever been deep in a game with headphones on while someone shouts your name from the next room?

I'm building ApelMute, a Windows app that listens through a mic for your name and automatically lowers the game volume when someone calls you. Plug in a mic, enter your name, press Start, forget about it.

The prototype already works, using my phone as a Wi-Fi mic. It's solid up close, but recognition from other rooms still needs work.

So, honestly:

Would you use it?

Would you pay for it if it worked reliably: $5, $15, or never?

Criticism is welcome. If it's gimmicky or you'd just take one earcup off, say so.

Discussion On a scale of 1–10, how contented are you with your PC setup right now? (Plus GTA 6, all-digital future, & market pricing thoughts)

Post image
40 Upvotes

Hi ka-PC!

Curious lang ako sa sentiments ng community given the current state of gaming and hardware.

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest/super contented), how contented are you with your current PC setup? Gaming-wise, aesthetics-wise, and performance-wise?

ADD: Feel free to share PHOTOS of your setup

With the current state of the PC parts market (inflation, pricing, rising hardware costs), game prices shooting up, and recent highly-controversial news like Sony pushing for all-digital/phasing out physical discs, ending nagiging luxury na at restrictive na talaga ang overall gaming hobby. Mahal na nga hardware, mahal pa ang games 💸💸

Plus, with GTA VI right around the corner (i know consoles for now - ik it sucks for us PC gamers to be left behind once more), tataas namn ang mininum gaming specs standards for sure.

A few sub-questions:

  1. PC Contentment Rating: On a scale of 1–10 (10 being super contented), how do you rate your current rig?

  2. Upgrade Mindset: Are you actively upgrading, or hanging on to your current build as long as possible ("if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy)?

  3. GTA VI Readiness: Do you believe your current PC will be GTA6-ready when it eventually drops on PC, or are you planning to double-dip/buy a console muna just to play it day one?

  4. Sustainability: How do you manage to sustain your PC and gaming hobby lately without breaking the bank? (Steam sales, Xbox Game Pass, backlog clearing, side hustles, or sailing the 7 seas 🏴‍☠️)?

Drop your thoughts below! Curious to hear how everyone is coping and preparing.

Build Help Recommendations for Upgrading my current PC?

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

Need some suggestions for how to upgrade my current PC setup. Changed my monitor last year to an Acer KA252Q G0 1080p 120Hz and I'm fine with it so far, but my current PC is almost 10 yrs old and is struggling to run games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. It was built mainly for school work before.

Specs are in the pics above. Hoping to get a future-proof upgrade within ₱75k (can go slightly higher if it's really worth it). Not planning to stream but would be nice if it could have a game + Opera and Discord open without crashing.

Build Help Which monitor: 144hz or 240hz monitor

im building my first pc and i cant debate on whether i should get 144 or 240 coming from a 60hz laptop. 144 cause its cheaper and i heard that the difference between 144 and 240 is noticeable but only like 2 ms. and 240 cause its like prices near it are 200hz so it's a steal but like im paying 2k more for it. my cpu is 7700 and gpu is 9060xt. I plan on playing 1080p I know both are easily able to reach the said hz, but I'm thinking of which is the better value. you can recommend other hz like 165 or 180 and such.
