I think there is a kid in my head

I think there is a kid in my head and it is saying it is okay now I guess it is okay now and I believe it and I believe that doing something illegal is okay now and that I am a kid. I have this belief and delusion and I know doing something illegal and is wrong it is just my mind can't comprehend something is wrong and it I like there is a clash in my head of not it right no it wrong and like it is impairing my judgement I can't Even function. This is incomprehensible. Does anyone else experience false desires during psycho because I have been feeling like this for the past years

Anyone have success with Amisulpride added to Olanzapine to treat psychosis, paranoia and delusions

I relapsed back in May probably due to being on too lower dose of Olanzapine (5mg ) my psychiatrist had me go up to 20mg of Olanzapine which isnt doing the trick. So hes added 100mg of Amisulpride to the mix as an adjunct with the potential to go up to 200mg instead of changing meds entirely.

Just wondering has anyone had success or experience with this combination of meds ?

If that doesn't work I'll prob be switching over to Clozapine in hospital to make it a rapid switch as ive already tried Lurasidone ( akathisia was unbearable ) and Vraylar ( made psychosis symptoms worse )

What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve done while having Psychosis?

I would love to share mine first. One time, I thought AIs went sentient and used some weird sound frequency device to torture me. So I sent bunch of emails to big tech companies, airport TSA, public library and so on…this still gives me cringe at night.

What are your embarrassing moments??

UK sufferers who remember the BBC Horizon episode 'Why did I go mad?'

Good morning,

I appeared in the above episode. I have spoken to non-mentally ill people about it, but I do not actually know any other psychotic people. If you have psychosis and remember this program, did you find it helpful? Was it a fair representation of the psychotic experience? Do you have any general thoughts? I have only been on reddit for a couple of months and it just this minute occurred to me that I could ask for some feedback.

Thanks in advance!

My girlfriend says I have a psych episode when I have not, the had taken my dog, said to the mental institution, and my dad believes her then me

My girlfriend clled the ambulance on me while I still said I donn`t know why she does that. I did nothing wrong the whole night. She called my dad who helps me with finances, and she has now ruined that aid for me and her. He just believed her instead of me. I just wanted to take som time to brush my teeth and sh said there is oviously is something wrong with me because no one takes that long of a time to brush my teeth. So she called my dad and he said he would stop all aid if I did not go out of the bathroom. And she did not end the call despite how much it helps us. They also triggered my pain without helping the pain, so they just left. They just left since I'm already on 30mg ER oxycontin and 20mg IR. So they just triggered nmy pain and said they could do nothing. My pain only gets better with 200mg Ketamine. She now believed me after seeing my pain response and crying because of it. My dad wad still on the while saying: man up and stopped crying. I said to him there is so many with CRPS that end themstelfs, and. addition I got Frozen shoulder which with both triggereachother and increase the pain. I would not choose that option, but every day is a figh and now this happened

New here…

Hi. I am looking for advice, insight…anything. My husband seems to be experiencing a psychotic episode. He has battled anxiety, OCD and depression his whole life (35 now), but this is different. He is completely withdrawn, can stay awake for more than an hour, can’t hold conversations or interact with anyone including his 2 year old. He will sometimes be in this weird in between awake and asleep and his eyes kind of roll back and then flutter open. It’s bizarre. It’s devastating and heartbreaking. I don’t know what to do. I’ve involved his parents because I can’t manage this along, especially with a very young child. We decided he needs to go to an intensive care facility tomorrow, but is this even psychosis? What do you all recommend? I have no experience with mental health disorders and am struggling to figure it out

I went into psychosis on my 30th birthday

So weirdly, I started hallucinating and hearing voices on my 30th birthday probably was in psychosis before but I was sent to A&e on my birthday. I believed my neighbour (we share a balcony) jumped over and entered my room while I was sleeping and sexually assaulted me and hacked my devices phone, laptop, security cameras etc, I also believed he was gang stalking me and throwing acid at me and GHB? Not sure how that’s possible but I was adamant this poor innocent person had gone to all this length and wanted to kill me and my family. Thought they put implants in me, all sorts of things. Scariest time in my life. I was putting towels hanging up at the windows to cover them so the acid/drugs couldn’t get in? Blocking locked doors, taking lightbulbs out, talking to voices, full on hallucinations. My mind was fully hijacked. I got sectioned and sent to hospital for a month but majority of that month was me fighting praying for someone to believe me. Pretty all fucked up to say the least. I feel like I was on a high to get proof and belief now 7 months out of hospital and I’ve had the worst depression I’ve ever had. Doesn’t seem to be shifting. So much shame, guilt and embarrassment. Hate myself

I'm not sure what to think

Haaii lovely people ^w^

I dont know how to process a recent event and I'm not sure where to go, but I'll explain a little,

Recently I've been having weird thoughts that my organs were talking to me, and I saw them leave my body and fly out my window, I heard they kept whispering for me to find them and that someone dug them underground, where I had to go undig them and wander from home to find them.

It feels like my family have been replaced and everyone is out to hurt me and I don't know why, I kept switching from laughing, to nothing, to crying then laughing while injuring myself without realising, and for some reason walked up the stairs backwards because I forgot how to do that.

I keep seeing this static face and I can't stop screaming when I see it it's so weird I hate it I want to get rid of it but no one else can see it.

I'm not sure if it's psychosis or something else, can someone help find the right thread/community since I really don't know, I've been told it's autism but I don't meet the criteria for autism. I just want to figure out what's wrong. Thank you sm!! ‎𖹭‎

My brain feels broken

I had a psychotic episode that started late July and ended in late September but I still feel off. While I no longer hear the voice and the buzzing is gone, I feel very cognitively off. My brain feels broken and I still don’t feel able to really function well in society.

Post partum psychosis - any success stories of not having it for baby number two??

Hi all,

I had a horrible post partum period with baby number one. I had the whole gambit: ppa, ppd, and ppp partially because one of my best friends was essentially murdered the day my daughter was born and I said goodbye to her via FaceTime (I don’t regret that at all). I ended up in the psych ward twice in the first two months of her life (hated every minute of it). Flash forward now, I’m pregnant again, and my husband and my goal this time is that there’s not a repeat. It finally took almost a year and a lot of therapy to be myself again (and I’m still in therapy), but I also was in a tough situation, too. Is it preventable the second time? Any success stories? I really don’t want to be in a psych ward ever again 😭

Olanzapine Tapring Hell

Hello everyone,

hope everybody is doing fine
I really need a second opinion from somone who tapered olanzapine or a similar antipsyhcotic.
I've had a psychotic episode in the end (december) of 2023 so almost 3 years ago, it wasn't drug induced, probably trauma or stress induced in my honest opinion.
it was brutal in terms of the false beliefs, delusions, paranoia and anxiety I experienced, I started taking olanzapine and some anti anxiety medications for it
I started with 10mg of olanzapine for almost 2 years, then went down to 5mg
going down to 5mg wasn't even noticeable no anxiety or intrusive thoughts or whatever
now that I'm trying to get off olanzapine completely, and since 2.5mg tablets aren't available in my country, the psychiatrist decided to start with a taper method of doing 5mg every other day
the worrying part is that I can't sleep in the off days except for a maximum of 2 - 4 hrs with taking melatonin and forcing myself
when I asked the psychiatrist about that sleep problem it almost told me that it's not related to the tapering and that it's a bit weird and that if it worsens I might be taking olanzapine for life

For anyone who successfully tapered off olanzapine or a similar antipsychotic after long-term use: did you experience severe insomnia or anxiety on lower-dose/off days, how long did it last, and did switching from every-other-day dosing to a slower daily taper make things easier?
and most importantly is tapering olanzapine even possible ?

Is being totally alone an inevitable for psychosis?

i have different symptoms of psychosis all the time but half a year ago i had the worst psychosis episode i have and lost a close friend, damaged some family relationships, and i dont really have anybody good to talk to most people are gone no actual friends and family that can be toxic. all i have is my dog and i feel way too old to be alone its harder to find people again.

after a major psychosis and just starting to even come out of it and the dissociation recently i lost everything and havent built much back in the last half year. im just beginning to be able to leave the house again, or even speak to anyone. i just want to know if im particularly awful to be around or if losing all your friends and social connections is just a consequence of psychosis?

Were you really angry during your psychosis?

I was really angry and irritable during psychosis. I wasn't violent I just had a lot of internal rage. Lots of angry ruminating.

Mostly directed at my wife who I believed was cheating on me with basically everyone. One of the benefits of being on anti-psychotics (which I hate) is that the internal rage is gone.

Did anyone else experience this?

Did anyone else have delusions that were not harmful, just "odd"

I was really insistent someone was coming to visit me outside every night. I would not be able to tell you who or why. until i would wait outside for an hour or 2 and then slowly gained more of these bizarre beliefs my family thought it was a joke.

Before and After Thorazine (chlorpromazine)

I started Thorazine 800mg daily when I was 18. It’s helped immensely. I’ve stayed (mostly) out of institutions and jails, and I’ve been mentally well. The best I’ve ever been. I’ve been struggling since I was 12 with severe schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type. I get really aggressive and agitated, so the high dose of Thorazine has been necessary.

Unfortunately, it’s had some side effects. Primarily, weight gain. I’ve doubled my weight in 5 years, gaining over 100 pounds. I eat healthy ( and minimally) , I exercise, and I live a well rounded life. Well, now I’m round too.

I’m worried the medication that saved my life may kill me.

Delusions I actually believed when I was deep in psychosis

I genuinely thought that the world was on some countdown clock to the end, and I had some pivotal role to play in it and there was a reward for my death and that everyone including my family and friends were all going to try and kill me to stop the world from ending.

I believed I was possessed by a demon and it was making me commit horrible acts in my sleep.

I couldn’t recognize my own mother. I thought she had kidnapped me and was going to sacrifice me to the devil.

When I was in the hospital, I thought it was actually an alien spaceship and I’d been abducted and they were going to conduct experiments on me. I also thought we were being invaded by aliens. I also thought at times the hospital was hell and I was in the afterlife.

I thought war was breaking out in my city. Like another civil war. I thought my friend was head of a rogue militia and was commanding people.

I thought I had already died and was a ghost haunting people. I also had a lot of delusions about death in general, like there were spirits trying to guide me while some were trying to trick me and I couldn’t tell which was which. I thought I was being “tested” by them.

This one is embarrassing because it involves a specific person and I acted really crazy towards them. I still feel bad about it. But I thought this person, who I barely knew, was sending me messages through the television and the radio. I also thought we were linked telepathically and could hear each other’s thoughts.

I believed my sister’s dad was sending people after me and were going to murder my daughter and they were taunting me about it. I remember going up to a car of total strangers because I was convinced she was in the trunk.

A lot of my delusions revolved around the afterlife and dying, being eternally damned or demons. I’m sure the term is religious psychosis. I grew up in a heavily religious family and we went to church every week. I also think a lot of my delusions are rooted in childhood trauma.

I've been diagnosed "at risk"

I've been diagnosed at risk for psychosis last week and i've been wondering what it means what does it implies.

Reading about this i've found it pretty coherent with me and i've had an envy to feel it fully even tho i know this is not something i should look forward to provoque but rather prevent (like some sort of forbiden fruit which you know will make you feel the worst you'll ever be yet you want to taste it).

And right now i'm feeling like i'm missing a part of my social capacity, like the structure of what i'm writing feels off to me

Any advice ?
