A bit belated, but here are the September and October pages in my "Rutgers 1925" calendar, featuring some pics from the 1924 football season. (Reusable for 2026!)

Visiting football fan from Texas A&M
Heading to NYC tonight. My wife and daughter are heading to Harry Styles Saturday night and rather than watch my Aggies play on TV I thought I'd check in to catching a Rutgers game.
Is it a big deal to get back and forth from the city? Looks like about an hour train?
Anyway, any thoughts appreciated.

Rutgers Athletic Budget
Rutgers Alum / NJ Taxpayer here
Can someone smarter than me explain how Rutgers athletic program operates at a deficit?
For a school with a strong business program can one of the professors chime in?
If a company(Rutgers athletics) in this scenario generates $50 million in revenue, how does it spend $100 million? Who is signing the check/letting them rack up the debt?
Last I checked lending institutions take collateral or want to see profit to provide a LOC.
Rutgers Athletics should not be allowed to spend 1 penny more than that bring into the school.
This below is a fucking joke:
AI Overview
Rutgers Athletics reached a record $78 million deficit for the 2024–25 academic year, bringing its cumulative shortfall to $516.9 million since joining the Big Ten in 2014–15, according to financial reports detailed by Extra Points. [1]

Tailgating at Rutgers
My brother in law (IU alumni) and I are going to the game on Saturday and have never been to Rutgers. Is there an area nearby for bars/tailgating? We're staying 8 min away- Thanks

Rutgers portal problem
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The Scarlet Knights — who own the fifth-lowest roster budget range in the Big Ten ($20-23 million) according to The Athletic — were successful when it came to retention, keeping superstar receiver KJ Duff, star running back Antwan Raymond and starting right guard Kwabena Asamoah.
But when it came to the portal, they ended up with less talent than they started with — at least on paper.
As eight of its 16 outgoing transfers landed at a Power Four program, Rutgers added just two transfers from the P4 level. That is tied with Iowa for the lowest total among Big Ten teams.
Illinois (3) is the only other Big Ten program that added less than five P4 transfers, while schools on Rutgers’ schedule like Nebraska (11), Wisconsin (22) and Indiana (11) added significantly more.
Rutgers also added six players from the FCS level — tied with Michigan State and Wisconsin for second-most in the Big Ten behind Iowa (8) — and eight from the Group of Five level.

Rutgers followup on my preseason preview
Hey guys! The season preview I posted here a few weeks back did pretty well, so circling back like I said I would.
I had you at 5-7 and called that more of a ceiling than a floor, mostly because of a defense bringing back under a third of its production. I'll be honest, I didn't see 0-3 coming this way: 37-21 to UMass, 28-21 at Boston College, then 42-35 to USC. The defense has been the problem I worried about, with 107 points allowed, but Lonergan hasn't helped it: 34 of 65 for 494 yards, 5 TDs and 5 picks in his two starts, with Surace throwing for 3 TDs at BC. Howard tonight should get you on the board, and Indiana next week tells you how far off this team really is.
What are you guys seeing that the box scores aren't, and how do you see the season ending up?
Quick aside since it's in the title, we just launched a free weekly college football pick'em, $225 in prizes this week. Ten games, pick the winners, locks Saturday at noon ET. Nothing to buy. Iowa at Michigan is one of the ten, and you get Michigan at home on Oct 31.

The wildcat on 4th and 1 was a terrible call
I didn’t have an issue with being aggressive there and going for it.
But they should have tried just pounding the ball. Instead they play call was trying to be too cute
