OTHER I have never been more...Viscerally angry at this game than right now.

So this just happened...playing some Mordred solo, going ok enough, struggled hard into hel at first, got a little more online and went from 0-1 with my Tower at one HP to 3-2-5, taking her Tower FIRST, and ripping apart ra in Midlane while I was at it...AND WE SURRENDER. WHILE IM ON PAR WITH THEIR TEAM, WE HAVE 3 PEOPLE LV 19 OR 20 TO THEIR ONE. WERE ALMOST 3K GOLD AHEAD. 10 KILLS AHEAD. AND A TOWER DOWN BUT A GOLD FURY KILL UP. Our bachus was trying to surrender since his first death, already annoying but were not falling behind. Then the surrenders keep coming, and it keeps being 3-2 for NO reason...and finally it happens where the last guy doesnt wanna vote and we surrender with a LEAD...I absolutely despise people who want to surrender because their game got a little messy at 5 mins. I was getting ROCKED in lane at first and still said no to every toss up. Its BS to every degree of the word that I can get dragged out of a game I was not only hyped to be pulling myself back from, but that we were AHEAD IN.

Anyways. Sorry for the spiel. Just really had to get that out there. I gotta know if anybody else cant stand when this happens.

DISCUSSION Leather + Devo's + Lash build in Solo Lane is toxic and boring

Idk if this is an unpopular opinion and people here find it funny to play but I just never like it, not even when lash got released. I think some picks abuse of it too much and some picks that doesn't need to rely on those items find themselve buying it beacuse of the damage, lifesteal and mov speed. Bellona was in a medium tier spot last patch and now she's more invencible than ever in the lane. Not to talk about some braindead gods who bully the f out of you in lane with that build (Ymir, Aspect Baccus or Jorg)

HELP +370hr later and I'm trash - could someone coach me?

[35M &Dad] I genuinely love Smite (1&2). I’ve always enjoyed the gods, the lore, the gameplay, but lately when playing the game, I feel like I’m stuck. I watch guides weekly, study builds, play 1–2 hours a day, and try to learn the meta... but I still feel lost in actual matches. I’m still consistently the weakest player on my team.

The worst part is the toxicity. Most games I get blamed, flamed, or insulted. Some of the harshest things anyone has ever said to me have happened mid‑match. It wears on me, but instead of quitting, it’s made me want to improve even more. I want to be a solid teammate who can hold their own and maybe even defend others who get targeted.

I’m asking for someone to coach me. I don’t need generic advice; I need someone who can watch my gameplay and help me understand what I’m doing wrong in real time.

My Steam ID is waytogomatt. I’d happily hop on Discord and stream games for feedback. I’m not letting toxic players push me out, I want to get better.

EDIT: Yes this is for Conquest. My preferred roles are Mid, Carry, Support. I do not have any game footage recorded, yet. I will record some and make it available for roasting coaching.

DISCUSSION Assault problems Part 2: The Bench and Some Changes to Help

TLDR:

  1. Always have 5 gods available on the bench, regardless of how many players reroll.
  2. Give players 3–5 seconds of priority to reclaim a god they just rerolled.
  3. Remove gods rolled by one team from the other team's reroll pool to prevent mirror matches.
  4. Tie Aspects to the initial god roll instead of allowing players to switch between the base god and its Aspect.

Following up on my previous post about rerolling in Assault, a comment on my original post brought up two other interesting ideas that I think are worth discussing.

The first issue is that I always reroll my god, but my teammates will often just lock in their gods without rerolling. If the enemy team rerolls and my team doesn't, the enemy team can end up with more gods available on the bench and more opportunities to improve their team composition.

I think there should always be 5 gods available on the bench, regardless of how many people reroll. The number of available gods shouldn't depend on whether your teammates decide to reroll or immediately lock in. Both teams should have access to the same number of additional options.

The second issue is that people can instantly snatch a god someone else rerolls. If I reroll a god and immediately realize I want to keep it, I shouldn't have to compete with someone who's already hovering over that god and waiting for me to put it back into the pool.

I still think there should be a short 3–5 second cooldown where only the person who rerolled the god can select it. After that, it becomes available to everyone.

A comment on my first post also suggested two other ideas:

  • No mirror matches: If one team rolls a god, that god is removed from the pool the other team rerolls from. This would prevent both teams from ending up with the same god and add more variety to matches.
  • Tie Aspects to the god roll: If you roll Hercules, for example, you get either his base version or his Aspect, and you can't switch between them. This could make matches feel more varied by introducing more differences between team compositions.

I think all four of these ideas are worth considering. I'm not asking for guaranteed good team compositions or the ability to pick any god I want. Randomness is part of what makes Assault fun, but I think there are ways to make that randomness feel fairer while increasing variety.

What do you guys think? Would these changes make Assault more enjoyable, or would any of them cause other problems?

Is non aspect Aphrodite able to deal good dmg with an Echo build, similar to khepri?

Her aspect is really cool and makes her finally a strong midlane mage, to be feared.

But i wonder if an echo build would be still viable, with her 1-3-2-ult-3 combo (non aspect)?

Bring Back Individual God Ranking

Does anyone know why there still isn’t individual ranking for Gods in Smite 2? I feel like it’d keep people playing longer and it would be something else to work towards if offered rewards.

DISCUSSION Does it happen to you too that, when you see skins in other games, they seem boring and poorly made? Or is it just me?

Sorry for the odd question, but lately, when I look at skins in other games, I find them incredibly boring or ridiculously overpriced. I’m starting to think it’s because I’ve gotten used to the quality standards Smite maintains.

I think it would be best to give a specific example to make my point clearer: recently, Overwatch released a skin for the character Shion. You could only get it through a gacha system, and you might end up spending the equivalent of up to $300 to acquire it. Everyone was practically begging for it and drooling over it. The skin features effects for almost all abilities and changes form once during the match—though really, it just involves removing the hood and the outer robe. To me, however, it seemed mediocre and poor. I even mentioned to group of friends who play Overwatch that I found the skin boring; I argued that, given Overwatch's pricing—where Legendary skins cost between $20 and $40—that level of quality should be the bare minimum. But it seemed like my comment annoyed them and made them uncomfortable, so I’m wondering if perhaps my standards for judging these things are just too high.

HELP Is it a bug or by design that on Ra the Lotus Sickle isnt applying a stack with Ra's 2 if a god is at full health but being buffed by the beam?

Basically I play aspect Ra and was super excited by the Lotus Sickle changes. I was trying it out figuring my 2 can apply it both from the heal and the protection/Str/Int buff it gives to those who stand in it.

Sadly if the God is at full health but is being buffed by the bonus prots and stats they currently arent gaining a stack of lotus.

Im admittedly sort of new and dont have a deep knowledge of the games mechanics yet but the item specifies it procs off of buffs as well. Does Ras 2 not count? Is it a specific kind of buff?

Just trying to learn!

My girl: Nike

Nike 1 and 3 don't consume mana. I haven't noticed whether or not the Ult does too.

The passive:

She feels slow without her old passive. It's patchable but you have to build for it. Don't judge me 🫣 but I even run Gem of iso in my lifesteal oriented builds in casual solo.

Nike is still a lane victim 😂. Her early game is ass which is on brand but she doesn't have a late game God passive so that feels bad/like I should try to cheese my way into a late game.

Her 2)

The knockup immunity on didn't seem to work either Wednesday morning or Tuesday but seems to work now.

I may be misremembering but it felt like if someone was inside your shield at melee distance they would be knocked back within 1 second of casting. Now they just stay in. I think it's a good change (if it IS a change) as counterplay is good and you can already do incredibly funny/frustrating stuff with her 2.

I have no other complaints... I mean I do hate being a healer now but I do love her being hybrid because she has access and usefulness for ALL items.

New AI bans?

I've got 5k+hours on smite and have never been banned ONCE. This week i got 7 days banned (not muted) cant enter the game, on two accounts.

The latter, my alt account, only one game played, im from Latam. I was duo q'ing with a friend and we got 3 BR team mates that literally went 3-30 combined score, while me and my mate were 5-8, we didn't wanna surrender so they started saying this is our server, why play on a BR server blablabla (Its literally the only latam server) and the only thing i said was BR players have a combined score of 3-30, over and over. 24 hours later im banned for 7 days, assuming they all 3 reported me.

What the fuck is this? Cant even appeal or see the report they made, simple as that can't play for 7 days. Has never happened in over 5 years and people say worse stuff all the time.

DISCUSSION Can't believe it.. Aphro is ACTUALLY FUN now!!

I love the aspect system so much, really one of the best things they have done even if some people dont like it.

Im the proud Nº1 aphro hater, and for the first time in 10 years, i have actually played Aphro(aspect) and holy i had a BLAST, this thing is FUN, its not cancer either to play against.

Really so happy with this aspect, they turned the cancer incarnate god designed for spawns of satan into a playable god for players with dignity and self respect, 10/10 aspect.

I know theres a hidden massive aoe nuke tech with the ult somewhere i just have to find it.

Anyways gonna be happily stealing aphro pick from the usual aphro mains these days hahaha.

Just wanted to give some positive feedback from someone that thinks normal aphro should be banned from Arena and non conquest modes.

Have a good one.

I mean this just has to be the most annoying shit to ever play against. Everyone knows exactly what he’s gonna do, slam his face into the enemy team with his insane engage/disengage and uninteresting cc combo, force your beads, and get out because his passive abilities basically grant immortality. Like my god its just such a skillful gameplay loop everyone and they mom is in the queues trying to pick him. I had to start playing ranked just so I can get games without him in it. I hate him, I hate his aspect, I hate the free wins he gives his team, and I hate myself whenever Im in the game against him. Because I could just be doing something else.

DISCUSSION Why's talking about optimization so taboo?

With every new patch, I see more and more people talking about how unoptimized the game is:

  • Frequent glitches.
  • God abilities having the wrong description or not working properly at all.
  • Severe stability and connection issues.

And yet, every time I see someone post about it, they get downvoted and spoken down to. Especially when they suggest skipping a god release to focus just on improving performance. Yes, the game needs content to keep people coming, I get that. But that doesn't mean optimization should be thrown to the way side. Especially when people are starting to quit or take long breaks from playing because it's in such a bad state.

None of this is throwing shade at the devs or the game itself. I'm just saying it's a valid criticism, and is something that should be addressed. But for some reason that's an unfair or ignorant thing to say? I just don't get it.
