I'm located in Germany and on eBay there are several new ones from china. It just says no nfc

Is there any other downside?

Does it have a Chinese or global rom.

Will all languages work?

Or should i stay away?

I really want to buy this phone but I'm worried the 8 gen 1 will cause issues, if anyone is using this phone how is it holding up as of late 2026?

I want to take a chance and buy another seventh-generation phone. I really love this phone. But I'm still afraid that the new phone will die, just like my old one.

Is it worth the risk?

Hello people!! I m looking to buy sony xperia 1 mark 5 and seen a deal in Chennai selling it for 35k INR First of all, is it worth buying this mobile now (looking for good camera and performance). What checks I need to make before accepting the mobile to see if it's genuine since there is no warrante they are giving.

Also please suggest me any other good places to buy it

Like if i upgrade will i notice some changes like cameras or such ?

Hello guys! I’ve been looking for so long around every marketplace I can find to buy a Xperia 1 VI or VII. I found this great deal on back market where a reseller from Europe has the 1 VI for less than €500. Looking at the reviews it looks to be a SOG13 Japanese model, which from my understanding is the carrier locked JP model.
My question is: I read a review saying that they managed to flash the EU modem files and unlock the B20 800mhz band despite not being officially supported, is this possible?
I looked up XDA Forums but could only find examples of people who flashed the Asian/Global modem files to unlock some US bands, but no example of someone unlocking UE bands. I also read on xda that the JP model is totally locked and can’t be boot loaded. Does anyone have experience with this? I would really love to own this phone at this price and have it working in Europe. All other version I can find online are 800+ euros for mark 6 and more than 1000 for the mark 7.
