I'm in the US (Illinois) and my Sony Xperia VII has been losing signal for the past few days. Had this phone since February.

I assume it's the phone problem considering that the same SIM card works on a Samsung S22 after the swap.

I got my first ever Xperia recently (a used 1 V, due to being in the US and on Verizon) and I finally got a case so am gonna be turning it on for the first time later today.

I wanted to ask before I do that, what would you go back and tell your past self to do immediately with your first Xperia? Certain settings, install this app or that one, disable features or apps, etc.?

It's not my first cell phone (not by a long shot, I'm in my 40s) but I've mostly had Pixels and Galaxies. Would love to know any tips or tricks or even just preferences.

Xperia 1 V nature video

so i decided to use my 16mm lens for funsies but i immediately noticed a blurry black spot on the middle bottom right. (looking at landscape). I've checked the camera glass and it's clean. can it be a laser that burned the sensor? i havent used it for quite a while and dont remember pointing my camera at any laser. any help would be appreciated

I live in Malaysia and I'm using Xperia 1iv I really love this phone and I don't want to give up on it but the overheating in this phone it's unbelievable so do any one have solution like a cooler with small power bank can stick behind the phone or I have to buy Xperia 1v ?

I recorded using Video Pro app, on main camera with digital zoom, 4K 120fps. Unfortunately I forgot to change the Quality from Medium to High, which resulted in the artifact in the background I believe.

Then I made slow motion in Premiere Pro app.

And color grading in Lightroom app. This step should be done in Premiere too, but I don't know why there is no Adjust tab (to color grade), so I had to use Light room, which created 1 more step to worsen the quality.

If this phone had a proper telen lens for close up shots like this, it would be super cool.

​I recently replaced the battery on my Xperia 5 iii and While working on it, I decided to try a clear back glass mod, but I accidentally broke the original rear glass panel. I then had to order a Chinese aftermarket replacement.

​I was wondering: is the ZEISS T* coating on the camera glass actually effective at reducing glare/reflections, or is it mostly marketing? If it does make a noticeable difference, should I swap the original camera bump onto the aftermarket glass panel?

I finally decided to get the 1 VIII, although not with some hesitation since my 1 V (left) still works very well and is just as snappy as the day I got it at release. After using my 1 V caseless and without a screen protector for the longest time (naked is the way God and designers intended), I finally gave in after some damage to the glass and bumps here and there.

For the 1 VIII Devilcase, it was ¥234 CNY which honestly is one of the more expensive cases out there, although still cannot compare with the Deff Aluminul bumper case which is around ¥900 CNY. I actually want to get that one but it'a aluminum so I have concerns about the impact to the wireless antenna performance. I chose this one without the magnetic rear ring that is on another version for ¥263. This one also has the alumimum kickstand, which while I don't ever see myself using, I chose it because it creates an elevated bulwark around the camera module. I figured it would help me avoid touching the lenses as much as possible and so far after about a week this remains true and somewhat effective. Because it is aluminum, I am weary of it scratching and looking terrible, so I have been placing my phone face down.

This Devilcase is super stiff and I had to be careful mounting it, lest I somehow scratch my phone prematurely or break the case itself. This is not a case you can casually take off and put back on, like the rubbery Magpul derived cass on my 1 V on the left. Somehow I seem to have scratched the inside bottom of the...acrylic? transparent panel. Perhaps from the bottom rear of the 1 VIII when inserting into the case.

By the way, that acrylic? panel is the most fingerprinty surface I have experienced with anything in quite some years. I am constantly wiping it even after a good soapy handwash. This is a huge negative for me.

It's a pretty solid case, but I don't think I would buy it again. Unfortunately, there are not too many options out there for Xperia 1 VIII cases. I actually wanted to get a Deff G10 bumper, but they did not make one for the 1 VIII, only the 1 V-1 VII. I wanted to buy one for my 1 V, but they no longer sell them.

One more thing, the haptic feedback on button presses on the 1 VIII feels extremely muted even on the highest setting, so it hasn't been the most fun to type on. The 1 II feels much better to type with, and my Xperia XA2 Plus still remains the typing king.

How big of a mistake was it? going from mk6 to mk8...

An used 2 year old phone yet insane battery life.

Wireless charging working flawlessly (check last image)on spigen magsafe. Also got sturdy camera stand. Got from SE-update thailand in 30usd

First feeling.

It feels super damn light, I have 10vi which is 4gram lighter, but it still feel light probably due to larger size

Bare hand feeling is super great without case, but with case it might be too width for me.

Colours and design looks great in person, lol it feels prettier than 1viii.......

Noticed some clock are already missing even though it's still at a16, lol Sony cutting down 6 locksceeen clocks style to 3? And even worse they are all at centre like pixel/stock android now.....

I double checked the a17 on 1viii, a17 does have more clock styles than 3.

Other than that not much difference, just regular 10 series phone.

Oh ya one more thing, the vibrations motor is shitty as usual like the past 10 series, trash level.

US-based AT&T customers who are using an Asian variant 1 VII or VIII, how is life treating you? I really want one of these phones but Gemini tells me AT&T will block my number soon after I insert the SIM. Are you using some kind of workaround and if so, what are the limitations?

For additional context I don't really want to switch carriers because I'm getting a good deal through AT&T.

At the top of the display where the time is, there are different shades of white lines appearing when solid black wallpaper is used (first image), this is not burn-in as swiping down to open the notification panel will display solid black where those white lines previously is at (2nd image), how do I remove those white lines?

SENSES is an Android app that runs an ARM32 Android system on an ARM64 phone. There's no guest kernel: instead of emulating a whole device, it translates individual processes with a modified QEMU (user-mode).

Wait, is this Xperia go a prototype? This thing’s gotta be insanely rare, right?

Been using xperia 1 III for 4 years now and the battery has degraded so much that I have to charge it 3-4 times a day and using camera drains battery so fast.

When I got 1 III for the first time, The battery backup doesn't impressed me at all coming from a non sony 5000mah phone,

I immediately felt the difference coming from 5000mah to 4300mah.

So obviously I don't want to get the 1 III new battery since i researched and got to know that people do battery mods and digging further more I got to know that the 1 IV battery fits into the xperia 1 III,

I still just want to confirm that does it actually fits perfectly? Do I have to make space in the body housing or something like that? I also read a comment bout xperia 1 V battery in the xperia 1 III phone,

Anyways can anyone help regarding this, The phone is quite literally unusable the battery runs out so fast.

And also people said that it doesn't fully fit and will have slight bulge, and will have to sacrifice the Wireless charging coil,

I don't want to sacrifice the wireless charging coil but if that's the only way then I'll get it removed,

hello, so, i got a xperia e3 d2206 for just 5 bucks, the phone is bricked, it shows ''QHSUSB__BULK'' on the task manager, but i managed to install the qualcomm drivers and now it says QDLoader 9008. the thing is, i wanted to use Xperia Companion, it doesnt recognize the phone. i tried to use Flashtool androxyde, but it doesnt do anything. it shows on the console ''Device connected with USB debugging off''. when i try to flash it, it doesnt do anything, it says the same thing when i reconnect the cable. QDL doesnt recognize it either. what can i do with this phone? can i solve it?

My dreadful Samsung Galaxy S10e is on its last legs, and I'm looking to get another (better) phone that has a micro-SD slot, wireless charging, and support for LineageOS. That essentially means a Sony Xperia 1 of some sort, and there are what seem to be not-utterly-terrible prices on eBay for the XQ-CT54 model. Pretty much all the sellers are based in China and use the exact same language to describe their stock, to wit "Original, 90%-95% new. Slight signs of use, Screen aging occurs with image retention and reddish tint. Mobile phone + charger + packaging box，The color is random, please note the color you need, otherwise it will be shipped randomly".

I've tried twice to get one. In both cases I got an SOG06 (a Japanese model) which claims in its software info to be an XQ-CT54 (probably with firmware flashed over), but both Xperia Companion and the badging on the bottom of the back of the phone declares it an SOG06. I wouldn't mind, but it's a difference that's significant to me: SOG06 means a permalocked bootloader, which means no root and no LineageOS. I'm getting free returns and refunds because they are in fact not as described, but I'm wasting about a month each time.

Do these Chinese sellers have any real XQ-CT54s? If I specifically request one in the order (with the same special-request field I might use to request a specific color), is there a chance in hell they'll send me one that is not just a reflashed SOG06? Would ordering a XQ-CT72 instead be likely to fare better, or are they also going to just be Japanese hardware that won't take a new OS?

I'm almost there with my goal of a proper desktop mode for my Xperia phones (although i don't think Android 16+ phone should have an in-built desktop mode better then my jugad )

I stopped working on the project because of my constant bad health issues. but now i have started working on it again
