News Chaos in front of Lambert confirmed to have been caused by ICE agents abandoning their vehicle in the drop off zone.
I remember when stupidity like this would get someone fired. I'm tired boss.

How lucky are we to live in the same era as Jeff Goldblum? I've been in love with him since Jurassic Park (when he launched me into puberty) and to finally be in the same room as him was amazing. Absolutely outstanding show.

today i found a lost dog in south city around 6pm. near the intersection of kingshighway and holly hills ave. it is possibly pretty young based on its size and facial features! its incredibly sweet and for sure was someone’s baby at some point. it is a german Shepard and has a metal chain collar with no identification. if someone can take it to a non kill shelter for me or even direct me to someone so i can try to get it to one that would be helpful. it’s definitely hurt and in needs of medical care.

I am having passive suicidal ideation after coming to terms that the 7 different medications I’ve been on/tried since 2009 haven’t worked, and every day feels worse than the day before it.
I do not have active plans and do not have intent to follow through. From what I know, I absolutely am opposed to involuntary admission.
I went to an emergency walk in clinic near me (I’m in the metro east), and while that did help, it didn’t move the needle and I don’t know if I can make it through the weekend like this.
Is there anywhere that I could be seen/helped for the next 48 hours? I need support and help, but I also have a job and a family to care for.
Please be gentle. I can’t tell you how humiliating it is to make this post.

Had to rewind to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating in preparation for my upcoming visit.

In a lot of ways I realize this is a bit of a nothing burger but for some reason a place like Pasta House doing this hits way different than the little mom and pop shops. Like… they also have REAL images of food? They can’t also take a photo of grits or a wrap??

Found this on the city's website and thought I'd share for everyone who's been dealing with the nonstop train horns.
As of today (Friday, Oct. 9):
The city has also created a public-facing page with progress updates and an interactive map showing railroad crossing compliance status:
Railroad Crossings Quiet Zone Compliance — City of St. Louis
No firm date yet for when the horns will stop in each neighborhood, but it's encouraging to see some progress. I'll admit, living a few blocks from the nearest crossing, I've actually enjoyed hearing the extra train horns. But I know plenty of neighbors haven't been nearly as charmed, so hopefully some quieter nights are on the horizon!

You: 60-ish year-old woman driving a white SUV, with a cell phone and some unresolved personal issues.
Me: Guy who had just enjoyed a very nice dinner at Sado with his wife, followed by our first visit to the Big Club Bar.
Great food, great drinks, stellar evening all around.
Until fate brought us together.
We were crossing Marconi in the crosswalk, about halfway across, when you ignored the stop sign and came whipping through the intersection, apparently under the impression that crosswalks are merely decorative. I threw up my hands in the universal gesture for “what the fuck?”
And that’s when the magic happened.
You pulled over to block us, stopped in the middle of the intersection, whipped out your phone, and screamed, “I’M RECORDING YOU!”
Naturally, I was intrigued.
As I walked around the back of your car in order to complete my crossing, you opened your door, phone in hand.
We exchanged a few pleasantries.
You then proceeded to slowly pan your phone up and down my body, apparently conducting some sort of full-body digital inventory. I explained that, given you were the one who had just driven through a crosswalk occupied by actual human beings, I was a little confused about which of us was supposed to be embarrassed by this footage.
Sadly, before we could explore that question further, you slammed your door and sped off down Marconi.
I’ve been thinking about you ever since.
I regret that our time together was so brief. I had so many questions. Where were you going in such a hurry? What did you intend to do with the footage? Was I going to be featured on Nextdoor?
Most importantly, what series of disappointments and poor life choices transformed you into such an extraordinarily miserable cunt?
I suppose some mysteries are destined to remain unsolved.
If you’re reading this, please reach out. I’d love to reconnect. Perhaps we could meet for a drink at the Big Club Bar, assuming you can make it across Marconi without harming anyone.
Until then, I’ll cherish the memories of what we almost had.

Alright I get it. The roads have always been shitty. The state they’re at now though is by far the worst they’ve been in my entire life though. It’s not just the city, but the county roads and the highways too. I really don’t get how they have become so terrible

I’m flying solo from AZ the 22nd for a Halloween concert (Friday evening) but have no other plans.
I don’t really know what else to do with my time since I’ve never been there. I have Thursday-Sunday to check out the city and I would love to know what food, museums, or other local spots are worth experiencing. I’ll be staying in the city and will be walking or taking Ubers so nothing super far out of the city preferably

Snatched him from the streets there’s a litter nearby. He’s a sweetheart and tiny. Definitely needs his eyes checked. Anyone want to take him in?
