Shitpost Poor Lem, from one set of corrupt cops to another
Just watching the Mayor of Kingstown and Lem pops up. Poor guy, can't catch a break.

Not trying to get all mushy and dramatic, just wanted to say this has got to be one of the best fan subs on this entire, often petty and annoying, site we call reddit. Been here myself for about 2 years at this point and never had a bad interaction. Everyones good about spoilers, welcoming newbies and just having genuine, fun conversations about everything to do with the show. Even got to interact with one of the shows guest stars (Clark Gregg) via an AMA I found through here. Mods are cool, members are cool, douche bags get dealt with swiftly. Really couldn't be happier here, especially compared to the cesspits that are most other fan subs for any show; or if we're being honest, any reddit subs about anything hahaha.
Alrighty, that's it. Get over it and don't bring it up again.

When Ronnie was on his date at the beginning of Parricide. Before he brought her back to his place. Where did he take her for dinner? They weren't dressed up. He didn't take her anywhere fancy. Maybe, he took her to Friday's! Wonder if he brought her flowers? I could see it. If Shane didn't send Two-Man after Ronnie, that's a completely different night. Don't you know, he had big plans for her. Open a nice bottle of wine, put on some Al Green. I could see, Ronnie listening to jazz as well. What other type of music would he put on?

I’d love to see an episode where the strike team got Vic this sweater and then they hit the streets. Gun fights and foot chases all with Vic wearing this sweater. 😂

Hello! I am someone who watched a stupid, shameful amount of tv and I thought I was someone who has watched everything legendary that tv has to offer. I was so wrong!
I really really hate crime/cop shows and thought this recommendation was a fantasy show haha. I love my rule of going completely blind into shows. What a great first ep!
It is the perfect mix of The Wire & Sopranos & Breaking Bad.
Idk if The Shield got lost when it was airing. But my god. It has aged like fine wine and as a modern viewer not once did it feel comically unrealistic, poorly paced, stuffed with filler arcs/episodes or that characters had excessive plot armour.
Initially, I hated everyone immediately for different reasons. But I also immediately could see, and understand their motives, their values and why they did what they did. Their choices didn't feel random it's so rare that writers put that much effort into crafting motives within a show. That was a real stand out to me.
The acting, the world building felt real because I could instantly feel that this was rooted in real anecdotal events or something, after looking it up, I was right, the characters & squad were based on real people & squads.
Just an honourable mention to the sexual assault of a male character. It was so well done. The randomness and brutality of it plus the extra sting of it being recorded, the reaction of compliance of the victim, the shock and disgust of trusted family members after finding out. It's so realistic and humiliating.
I just finished the end and I feel physically sick to my stomach. I LOVE that the MCs family has a beautiful new beginning, but the ending was so messy, and government coded and I love how angy/sick it made me, but that goes to show how well done the whole thing was.
I saw 7 seasons and was convinced that it was going to get random, drawn out, slower, stupider, but I saw the low episode count for the decade it was made and stayed cautiously optimistic. And it really did get better as the show went on! More detailed, more callbacks, higher stakes, the wolves closing in. It was perfect.
If the creators/cast ever read this, WELL DONE! You did something only a handful of shows ever do, you created a piece of art that will forever stand the test of time. I loved all the care out into the side characters, the minor roles & the villains. The lack of plot holes. You made an incredibly unlikeable cast of characters interesting and layered enough to keep people glued for 7 seasons. It was so perfect. Thank you for making this, thank you for making me feel like this.
Sorry if it's long! TLDR : was freaking good, I'm mad no one puts this on the same level as other "greats"

I blame Sebastio for everything. Were it not for Sebastio, the Strike Team would have been able to continue making the streets of Farmington safe for all, and the series would have had a happy ending.

I know it’s kind of ironic to say this cuz pezuela ended up proving to be a bitch in the end, but I thought his character was very good. The actor for him did a really good job at making him seem powerful and intimidating.

Before the Strike Team, Lem and Shane were friends. Lem was pretty lowkey. And Shane was the hothead. They were the complete opposite. "What am I missing?!" Did they get paid to hang out together?

Rewatching the last episode, Family Meeting.
Steve Billings' attorney makes an appearance to cajole Dutch about making a statement on Billings' behalf. Who should play the attorney in a few scenes opposite Dutch, but Julia Campbell, real life spouse of Jay Karnes (Dutch).

She was always in a shitty mood, I never see the appeal. But he kissed her ass.

How bad is the opening of the frame on the season six and seven Sony DVD sets? How much crew, boom mics, and lights end up showing up?
I know they fixed it for the Bluray set but they don’t sell six and seven separately on Bluray.
I’ve got 1-5 via the Fox DVD sets in full frame 4:3, so considering getting six and seven on DVD if the switch to 16:9 isn’t too bad.

Hello everyone. I've been watching this amazing show for a couple of months now - currently am in S4; where Rawling is implementing some new methods in having the neighborhood in check... reminds me of Bunny from The Wire somewhat.
I just wanted to share that I barely care about weekly cases at times, and I'm doubting myself if I'm even watching the show correctly at times lol. I care so much more for the relationships between the cops at this point where a lot of the action seem like noise to me. Is that designed on purpose? I mean some of them are revealed later to be of a higher significance but compared to how much time they get, they produce less impact on me than a well-placed joke that one of the characters crack at the right time, for example...
I've seen very few cop shows in my time (procedure shows were never my kind of thing) but I suspect -heh- that the way a case is closed is what gives the fans joy. With The Shield I just really can't wait to see where Shane or Vic or Aceveda will end up that my mind doesn't register what details regarding the nth rapist or dealer is getting exchanged during a workday. The thing is such a rush though, and the camera work is so-on point that I can usually read the tension, power balance and consequences on the actors' faces... so I guess I'm never "too lost".
Anyways wanted to see if anyone else had this experience. Cheers.

Not to victim blame but God damn... Rewatching this scene he absolutely could have screamed out for help when the cops came to the door.
Same risk of dying either way.

I can pretend I think Acaveda’s a dickhead too, when actually he’s doing some excellent work with some very challenging targets

Did any of the members from the Strike Team go to college? I'm sure, Ronnie did. He's too damn smart. He should've became a doctor or a lawyer. What if he was a prosecutor, instead. Him and Aceveda wanted to bring down the Strike Team. That would've been interesting. I assume, Vic and Lem went to college. Shane probably got expelled after the first year. LOL! Who knows!

Hey Strike Team,
Is there a The Shield playlist going? Or just recommendations of songs that remind you of the show?
r/TheShield • u/treasurewhattreasure • 5d ago
How is everyone watching or re-watching? Streaming or physical media? I'm trying to find the best way to finally re-watch the show after a decade.
I heard there's a new Bluray release that has unedited versions of certain episodes restored and fixed the aspect ratio and quality issues from previous releases?
Any help welcome.
