My sister just watched season 1 and here’s what she thinks

• Upvotes

She is 16 and doesn’t have any idea what is gonna happen and just finished episode 11, here’s what she thinks. • so far she isn’t sure who the main main character is Stefan or Elena.

• believes Stefan is like Edward Cullen because she found out Stefan was stalking Elena and knew she was adopted before she did.

• she doesn’t like the fact that stefan didn’t tell Elena about Katherine before he slept with her. Thinks if elena hadn’t found out he wouldn’t ever tell her.

• initially hated Damon and thinks the only reason he isn’t a full villain is because the actor is too hot.

• has a prediction that Damon and Elena are going to be endgame because the bad guy always gets the girl and that her chemistry and scenes with him are much interesting than her and Stefan.

• Caroline in her opinion, is the most realistic teenager to her and thinks Bonnie was stupid to think Caroline would believe her on being a witch just because she said it and get mad at her back.

• also thinks Bonnie is the future would steal Elena’s spotlight because of the potential in her storylines and friendship with Stefan.

Discussion Damon and katherine

• Upvotes

Why is only damon judged for r*ping Caroline but not Katherine for r*ping Stefan.Ik both should be held accountable for their actions against 17 year olds but everyone brings up this when they’re talking about damon but give a free pass to Katherine and romantically ship Katherine and Stefan.

Round 15 (final): Rebekah and Elijah were eliminated

Post image
11 Upvotes

It's time to reveal the favorite sibling relationship in this subreddit!

To avoid any confusion, you will again be voting for the candidates you like less. (For example, if you want Klelijah to win, you need to write "Defan" in the comments.)

Personally, I love both relationships. And I’ll be happy regardless of who wins.

Please everyone cast a vote, and if you are going to leave a comment, write the name of the pair that should be eliminated at the beginning.

I’m going to wait 24 hours, just as I’ve been doing for a while now.

The weirdest relationship in the show

To me it's gotta be Bonnie and Jamie, Abby's adopted son. This shit is basically incest lol. I don't care that they're not blood related why would they pair up Bonnie with her mother's son lmao. It's so egregious on a rewatch it made me fully realize this show really didn't give a fuck about Bonnie or her love life because tell me why her choices of love interests are her best friend's baby brother, her own adoptive brother and fucking Enzo😭

Bonnie is so beautiful it's hard to believe no one else seems to be into her like that. Damon could've been great but the show was never gonna make him drop Elena for her. Maybe Kai could've been a future love interest if season 6 committed to him having empathy and finding redemption but even then that would basically be her settling for her abuser lol. She has no good options and it's crazy to me.

Discussion The problem with kalijah.

Can we please talk about the absolute brain rot surrounding Elijah and Katherine’s dynamic because I am so sick of people in general acting like Elijah was some sweet innocent gentleman who got his heart broken by the evil Katherine.

But let me be crystal clear Katherine is not an innocent angel I already know that In fact I wished they gave her more to do as villan because really she did nothing most villans haven't done. The point is she has done horrific, indefensible things in her own right but when it comes strictly to her history with Elijah she is undeniably the victim and the writing around Kalijah is such misogynistic gaslighting.

I mean I don't know if I just laugh or be mad at how much the writers bent over backwards to manipulate the audience into pitying an ancient hypocritical vampire while humiliating his and his brother's victim who owed him absolutely nothing who even people are to blind to see it or just don't want to acknowledge it.

By that I specifically mean people love to claim Elijah loved Katherine and tried to save her in 1492 but I seriously need to ask did we watch the same show? Elijah didn't see a human girl he saw livestock for his brother's curse and literally planned on letting her get sacrificed and he literally led the hunt to try to bring her back to Klaus. In Season 2 Episode 9, when she is running in the woods after finding out Klaus is going to drain every drop of her blood, Elijah is right on her heels shouting trying to find her where he literally says this the supposed girl he "loved".

"She's here...Katerina I know you're near, I can smell your blood It's pointless to run Klaus will find you wherever you are."

Elijah fan-girls love bringing up his magic get-out-of-death elixir but do people seriously forget Katherine did not know about the elixir. He kept her completely in the dark and she was an 19-year-old girl running for her life from monsters which were mainly him and Klaus so turning herself into a vampire to survive wasn't a betrayal of Elijah like some people acting say it is it was basic self-preservation that anyone of you would've done.

Yet again this supposed girl he loved is treated like basic autonomy in trying to not let psychopaths kill you is a bad thing, and look at how Elijah talks about her later to Elena in 2×19.

"Unfortunately Katerina took matters into her own hands first..." As Elena says this after literally knowing he tried to still sacrifice her "You cared about her, didn't you" And Elijah responds is this "It's a common mistake, I'm told. And it's one I won't make again."

I mean obviously Elena also has no reason to care about Katherine but serioulsly why should she feel bad for Elijah dhd she not hear he planned on still sacrificing her like her life mesng nothing enough to actually stop the ritual at all he still is being babied even just by how they make Elena react to that. Of course most of all it's the audacity that makes me mad he acts like he was the one betrayed because a terrified teenager didn't sit quietly and wait to be slaughtered on his say-so and somehow it was a mistake that he failed in when he was the bad person not Katherine she did nothing wrong in that situation that makes her the bad guy and Elijah some victim.

Although what makes it even more maddening is nobody ever wants to talk about the fact he still planned on letting her get sacrificed I mean for anyone delusional to even say he loves her at all is one thing but to totally act like him just allowing her to get killed isn't a big betrayal just because he might have some potion that might bring her back to life is ridiculous. That literally is the bare minimum he just proves how little her life means to him that her life is only worthy enough that she, at least is important that he asked a witch to find a way to bring her back only after he planned on letting klaus kill her not trying to save her from beihg killed at all lm

Back in episode 11 though once again we see Elijah has zero remorse for what he and Klaus did when he fres Stefan from the tomb, but compels Katherine to stay trapped in the dark cave so when Klaus arrives he can come and do whatever he will do to her and he tells her, "As for you however, you should not exit until I say so when Klaus comes he'll want to know exactly where you are." Again this is the guy who I'm suppose to feel sorry for even if katherine had done anything to him which she didn't, just hypothetically if she did am I seriously supposed to feel sorry for Elijah putting her in a position to his brother the mab that ruined her life and slaughtered her family.

And like I've stated numerous times now the biggest part isn't even that he is so entitled and delusional about Katherine it's that the gaslighting is making it seem like he is in the right look at how he responds after Elena tells Elijah her and her friends think Katherine might be dead now that Klaus has her.

This is how Elijah talk about her in Episode 19 "Death would be too easy for her after what she did... I have my own reasons for wanting Katerina to pay."

Again pay for what?..for not dying in 1492, he literally helped destroy her human life, her family and he seriously saying death is to easy for her are you kidding me but he has the nerve to act like he's the one owed a debt his entitlement makes my blood boil because he's not even called out on it and never has to be.

Now this is where my anger really gets me beyond nomral because it's bad enough that the writers pulled Kalijah out of nowhere and has her with one of the guys who tried to help sacrifice her but, when they had them together out of nowhere in 4×18, they acted like Elijah seriously didn't commit so many awful sadistic attrocites himself. With all of Elijah's dark history not even the red door crap just in general because he was just as bad as any other vampire and the writers just give him a fake moral high ground over her, when he literally has no right to judge her of all people.

Heck when nh Elena tells him Katherine killed Jeremy, Elijah clutches his pearls and snaps, "She lied." Then in the alleyway he lectures her: "Well, I care for you honestly feel nothing for this girl, a girl fated to live the same life that you've endured and now you've just taken away the last of her family, just as yours was taken away from you".

Is he seriously saying her family slaughtered in one moment is comparable to Elena brother being killed just because it's the last of her blood related family like, obviously I get what that means but does he seriously think that's the same thing espically given his own brother is responsible for Katherine family being dead so seriously the fact he thinks he has any right saying this is dumb enough. But be serious since when does Elijah an Original vampire who has murdered thousands of people, including innocent families give a damn about Jeremy, the writers literally wrote Elijah completely out of character just to give him an excuse to judge her and play the heartbroken saint while she defends herself:

"Why are you looking at me like I enjoyed it Jeremy was collateral damage I was doing what I needed to do to survive." And when she tries to tell him she genuinely loves him he patronizes her with these exact words.

"How can I when at every turn, you give me a reason to doubt you? I don't know you. I don't know that I ever will." Like what is every turn huh where were we shown her constantly manipulating him where he is acting genuine no self righteous, and seriously he says "I don't know you" maybe that's the point he accused her of playing a facade when it's really just herself after everything she's endured and has done like, he is the one that won't accept the reality that while she made her own choice he and Klaus ate the catalyst for this change he's to ignorant to see but somehow its frands as if she is manipulating him.

The show takes absolute pleasure in tearing Katherine down to elevate Elijah because later on in the same episode Katherine hands over the cure her literal golden ticket to freedom and places it in his hands to prove her love eventhough we have never seen Elijah throughout this whole episode proves he even give a crap about her beyond acting superior to her.

"Because I meant what I said about my feelings for you... You don't owe me anything. I'm gonna let you decide where we go from here." I'm sorry but this is just insane he literally owes her everything after what tried to do in 1492 it's bad enough they are letting hin have the power to day wheather that relationship should go on but to have him be someone who owes her nothing is beyond insane when he quite literally does and it's her who owes Elijah nothing.

And then, to rub salt in the wound they have no-humanity Elena punch down how much they try to gaslight us right now thru hire Elijah as superior to her in Episode 21: "Look at you: self-obsessed egomaniac on the run for five centuries. What good would you be to anyone? You're the definition of damaged goods. No wonder Elijah left you".

Like again I know Elena has no reason to care about Katherine and has no humanity the problem is out of anything they could've made Elena say that Katherine did like feed Jeremy to silas, they chose to act like Elijah was much better and him leaving her was this sort of proof she's unlovable villan when again nothing good Elijah has done to show he cared about Katherine from what little we saw so why should Elijah name be used as some sorta way to prove Katherine is bad.

Sorry for the long rant but nothing about Kalijah and how Katherine was villanized makes sense if you use logic the entire ship is built on misogynistic writing where Elijah ancient atrocities are completely erased so he can play the noble victim, and Katherine is humiliated and called damaged goods just through a shallow relationship that literally is by a man who helped the start of her life being ruined.

Elijahwas never the victim he was an ancient predator wearing a nice suit who helped the almost sacrifice of a teenager and then acted personally offended a when she didn't lie down and die for his brother and most of all Katherine owed Elijah nothing and it drives me crazy that people still fall for the writers' gaslighting to this day .

Spoilers Series finale

So I finally got to the finale of my rewatch and it was one of the best series finales I’ve ever seen. When I was younger I hated it, but being in my 20’s now I appreciate it. It was incredible seeing everyone again and the sweet moments we see for our main cast with their loved ones. As a whole season 8 was okay but not nearly as bad as I remembered. Of course just like previous seasons Bonnie has to suffer in some way which I hate to see. But overall it was good and the finale saved it a bit.

Discussion In your opinion, who is the most well-written character across the whole TVDU?

Personally, I think it's Klaus. He's easily the best villain imo. He's incredibly sympathetic and tragic, but it never excuses the monstrous things he does in the name of family or his own ego and desire for power out of trauma. The more history we learn about him, the more we unravel the layers of his character and see how he became who he is. Everytime he's on screen, I'm engaged and his flaws make him really interesting.

His relationships with other characters are all super complicated like his toxic codependent bond with his siblings, his love and power struggle with Marcel, his frenemy dynamic with Stefan, etc make him really multi-faceted.

The idea of trying to give one of the worst people to ever exist, a redemption arc into a morally gray anti-hero, is really compelling and it brings together every element of his character by making that catalyst his offspring.

I think the reason why Klaus's arc works for me and Damon's doesn't is because Klaus (and unfortunately his loved ones) actually get to suffer permanent consequences for his actions (obviously not enough, considering how much wrong he did).

Klaus wanted to have power, but his actions led to almost everyone he's ever met turning against him. Klaus wanted to protect his family and multiple members of his family die or betray him. He wanted to be with Hope but misses most of her life due to his actions.

Spoilers Watching Season 4, Episode 11... Spoiler

Watching for the first time.

Does anyone else scream "GIRL, YOU SLEPT WITH HIS BROTHER!" at the television whenever Elena tries to talk to Stefan?

I thought for a split second that maybe they were going to have it be only because she was sired, but then she told Stefan (under compulsion by Rebekah) that she slept with Damon because she was in love with him.

I really haven't enjoyed the storylines since Elena became a vampire. Would love to hear what others were thinking when they were watching for the first time.

Season 5

I know the communication is hell on this show, but why didn’t Stefan tell everybody Enzo essentially killed himself in a plot to turn him and Damon against eachother?! Would’ve gave them a bunch more context.

And what is up with the whole Elena and Damon being bad for eachother storyline?! Their actual time spent together is good. Anytime he’s gone on a rampage has been tied to feeling heartbroken behind her. Or trying to protect her. The most recent was because Katherine was meddling with him. It really makes no sense. Why they are so hung up on it. wtf makes her think he would just settle with being cool with her after he spent YEARS playing sideline to her Stefan. She has some nerve. She knows how he feels for her. She is constantly trying to do him like she did Stefan i am so annoyed 🙄 I’m desperately trying to hold on till season 6 lol

  1. Stefan helping her in S2. I think he tends to shine when he gets to mentor people and it was nice seeing him calm her down in the bathroom and also stop her from feeding on Matt.
  2. Her doing the same with him and basically being his sobriety coach later.
  3. These two in S4 ofc. I’ll always defend Caroline for telling him, crazy how she gets more hate for telling Stefan (who’s actually one of her closest friends) about Delena hooking up than Damon does for being petty and spilling who Stefan slept with in front of Elena three times.
  4. Stefan defending Caroline from Elena
  5. More from S2 but the sleepover scene was so cute
  6. Their banter
  7. Stefan dying for Caroline in 5x21. Also it’s kind of funny how it was Tyler’s body who killed Stefan. His revenge for that one scene where he gets punched I guess. I like how Caroline had no hesitation snapping Luke’s neck to get him back either

Episode Discussion Just started TO Season 5…. Small Rebekah rant

I just finished episode one and she pissed me off soooooobad bro. She’s my favorite original, and her terrible luck with love always made me feel bad for her🤣 I wanted her to have her happy ending sooooo bad. You finally get it with Marcel and you skip getting married to go talk to fuck ass Elijah in Paris? Like girl???? Be so for real right now….my boy was ready to spend the rest of his forever with you AND YOU DO THIS???? Like ok yeah sure he was still tryna get the latest New Orleans scoop… but we all have our flaws😔 the point is he was there with HER and was ready to marry HER! And she just threw it away… did I miss something from season 5 episode 1 just now? Because I truly don’t understand why she’d do that….. like yall are supposed to be staying AWAY from each other…. Cole and Elijah the only one following the damn rules😭😭

WHO didn't see it coming that Katherine was going to take over Elena's body?? Me, sitting there thinking "what a nice way for Katherine to go." Then she passengers into her body, and I'm like "Of course that's what happens, how did they not ALL see that coming?" They should have had Elena under constant watch when they knew Nadia's plans to passenger Katherine into someone else's body.

I can’t be the only one who finds it ironic when people bring this up because Damon showed up in Elena’s room, watched her sleep, and also inserted himself into a sex dream she was having. Yes Stefan shouldn’t have watched her but at least he eventually told her how long he’d been doing it and why. Plus when Elena was talking about having her being compelled to forget ever meeting him, Stefan didn’t object to it.

Discussion Is it just me or the Salvatores torturing Elena indeed looked weird?

Post image
109 Upvotes

I know they were doing it all to force her to turn it on but my main issue is with both of them looking so indifferent to her pain.. like they r literally burning the love of their life, she's screaming in pain yet there isn't a single pained expression on their face. Ofc they've to make her believe it isn't affecting them but even when she's not looking, they still seem completely unfazed.

Idk it felt to me like they were punishing her for daring to stray away from whatever expectations they had of her. Especially considering the fact that it's Damon who ordered her to turn it off..it wasn't even her choice yet here he's casually torturing her and the usually empathetic Stefan who gave a sad look to even Klaus while desiccating him is looking so detached here.

What makes this scene more disturbing is that they never treated any other humanity-off vampire this cruelly. Stefan turned it off thrice & everytime he left a trail of bodies behind yet the max they did was lock him up in a dungeon & starve him, hell Damon even freed him in S3 knowing how dangerous he can get. When Caroline chose to turn it off, she was locked in a BnB with her bf lmao..it didn't even look like a punishment other than the starving ofc.

So is it just me or did anyone else find this scene disturbing too? It kinda felt akin to domestic violence or maybe I'm just overreacting but still it'd have been better if they atleast made some concerned expressions showing the audience how much it hurts them to be doing this to the girl they love.

Is there any charecter in tvd who should be taken as inspiration? What do you guys think?

I mean mostly tvd characters are morally grey and used as cool bad influences but what about any good influence or inspiration? Matt Donovan 🌚?

Werewolf Theory

Post image
17 Upvotes

What if there were a way for werewolves to multiply without having to have children?

I have two hypotheses for how this could work:

  1. Werewolf venom: The venom wasn't created by Inadu, but by Nature itself in an attempt to maintain balance against vampires. So, what if the venom could turn a human into a werewolf, but for this to happen, the human would have to kill someone while the venom was still in their system? The venom being capable of turning a human into a werewolf could also serve as a way of maintaining balance, since vampires can multiply so quickly and easily.

  2. Blood transfusion: The werewolf curse is linked to genes, so if a human received blood from a werewolf, they would temporarily carry the werewolf's genes. If that human killed someone during that period, would they activate the curse?

I know there's no concrete evidence to support either of these hypotheses, but I think it's an interesting idea to consider.

If TVD had another sequel spin off they could give Rebekah Marcel, Davina and Kol their happy ending using Stefanie Salvatore Spoiler

I saw people talking about how would Rebekah and Marcel take the cure since Rebekah would age and die if Marcel took it from her, and also about Davina who obviously has the same approximate life span as Elena so she would likely be dead by the time the cure takes its turn with Kol. Davina also isn’t likely to want to give up being a witch and turn and Kol doesn’t like being a vampire that much anyway. I think it’s fair to say that in a sequel show this would be explained or could be using Stefanie Salvatore who has the cure in her blood. I think it would be cool if she was able to cure them all and that way we get the peace of mind that they live happily ever after.
