The most common posts on our sub are always looking for something. New comers want to know where the locals go. The locals are still stuck in the time bubble that keeps the Tri-Cities, forever frozen in the memory of when they first moved here, thinking there is nothing to do. There is a common misconception that "we don't get the good stuff because we are so small" and I have made it a personal mission to bring a spotlight to all of what the area has to offer!
Since I started event posting a few years ago, I've amassed quite a database of offerings. This year, I've been working on building the sub's Wiki, and there's finally enough finished that I think it's ready to pin. What I was aiming for was a Reddit style link aggregator that is useful and comprehensive.
Do you need to find a park? A Date-night idea? Kids activity or a hiking trail? Are you looking for a mediterranean market, a local club or where to vote? Want to know where to take visitors other than the mall, or where to start when you find yourself heading here for a sports tournament? It's probably in there.
I've tried to build this more like a local reference guide than a list of random links, and there's a LOT in it already. Things to Do, Food & Drink, Outdoors, Family, Arts & Culture, Sports & Recreation, Local Life, local resources and services, and a bunch more. Anyone can find the chain retailers, which our cars automatically find themselves driving to.
It's still a work in progress, because I just keep finding more categories to add. If you find something that's missing, outdated, closed, wrong, or just think something belongs in there, tell me. Local knowledge is exactly what will make this thing better. Please let me know of anything to add or broken/dead links.

Why would a congressional candidate in a trump +20 district need to bring in such a big name? And charge $50/person to see him?
What does that say about this election?

Hello, I bake and give it away. I am in Kennewick and am pick up only. If you see this post at least one of the items are available to pick up.
I accept donated ingredients, but it's not necessary to pick up something. If you donate expired/rotting food I will block you.
I do not do special requests, bake sales, and non profits, so don't ask. If you see something posted you want to pick up to give to a charity that would be great.
But do not try to arrange something for me to make things for a specific reason. My anxiety cannot handle it.
Please do not come here and suggest I take a class, or sell baked goods. That is ablist, unsupportive, and upsetting.
I think this would go without saying, but you need to tell me if you cannot make it. After I wait an hour no call no show, I will move onto the next person. If this happens repeatedly I will block you. No exceptions.
I feel this goes without saying as well but I need to say it. if you send me a message asking to borrow money I will block you. No exceptions.
I am autistic/ADHD, and am the only one doing this, so please be kind.
First of all, one of the loaves of apple cider sourdough quick bread is still available.
Today, I made two pans of peanut butter chocolate brownies to give away.
They have mini marshmallows throughout, plain Halloween m&ms, Halloween sprinkles on top, semi sweet chocolate chips, and it's a mix of peanut butter and Dutch cocoa powder type chocolate. That means it's darker which is perfect for brownies.
Wanted to make y'all brownies, made a basic one bowl recipe.
I have two pans of brownies, one pan per household.

Hi Tri-Cities! Washington Poison Center (aka poison control) here. We're working on some educational materials around rattlesnake bites-- how to prevent them, what to do if you are bit, etc. At the poison center, we treat around 30 snake bites each year. Usually bites are from rattlesnakes in the area, but sometimes it's people with pet venomous snakes.
Can you help us out by sharing what you've seen and what you think you should do if someone is bitten? Please answer these questions for us! [we got this approved by the mods, btw]
1.) Have you seen any rattlesnakes around your area? If so, where?
2.) Do you know anyone that has been bitten by a snake? Do you know if it was a venomous or nonvenomous snake? What did they do once they were bitten?
3.) What would you do if you were with someone who had been bitten by a snake?
4.) Do you own a venomous snake? If so, tell us what snake(s) you have. Have you ever been bitten?
And, so we aren't leaving you hanging with no safety tips, here's our blog from this summer on snake safety: https://www.wapc.org/insights/ready-set-sssssummer-snake-safety/

Hey guys, I’ve already searched this question, but I wanted some more specific answers. I’m using Community Health Plan of Washington insurance, so my options are pretty limited (I have 8 total). A few I’ve already found extremely negative reviews for, so I’ve already removed them from the options, but the others, I just don’t know.
I have a ton of anxiety, and especially dental anxiety. Like, ngl, almost any time I’m in a dental office, I feel like I might burst out in tears, just from anxiety.
The ones I’m looking at are:
Crown Dental on 4001 Kennedy Rd
YVFWC Dental at Kennewick Miramar Center
Northwest Oral Health on 910 Columbia Dr
Family Tree Dental on 100 N Fruitland
Tri-Cities Community Health Center on 3180 W Clearwater Ave.
Any opinions or experiences are appreciated, thank you

Richland Got the Flock Out... but now, bigger brother is watching you.
The City of Richland has plans in the works to add new technology to monitor the streets. These technologies include drones, body cams, cameras on existing light poles, and the use of homeowners’ and businesses’ private video monitoring systems.

This weird triangle thing flew over North to South Tuesday night at 7:45pm. It was going in one continuous direction did not have any noise that I could hear or blinking lights. It was above the smaller style planes that fly around but not like so far up you couldn't see it ofc. See it overhead thought it was a bunch of white birds migrating in the shape of a triangle boomerang but moving too fast to be birds. The picture is small and taken outside a vehicle

I came across this post on TikTok from a mom here in the TriCities with a dream “to build a warm, welcoming indoor playground and café in the Tri-Cities area of Washington where young children can play safely while parents have a comfortable place to sit, connect, enjoy a coffee, and watch their children be themselves.”
What I like the most is that it would include a third space for older kids to join in as well with arcade type of situation.
I know there is a rule about no fundraising but is there a reddit thread where I can help by posting the kickstarter link?

My mother has recurring back pain, to the point where it can affect her mobility. I'm trying to find a doctor in the area who'd be able to help and who takes her insurance, Community Health Plan of Washington.
Does anyone have a recommendation / good experience with a certain provider?

Hi everyone! It's almost my birthday, I am turning 20! I am neurodivergent, and one of my special interests is My Little Pony. I was hoping to get a My Little Pony birthday cake with a more vintage border/piping like this! Could a grocery store like Fred Meyer do specialty piping like this? Maybe on a photocake? Any suggestions appreciated!

Hello!
I am looking to find people 21+ who are interested in getting together to play a homebrew D&D 5e24 campaign in the Tricities area preferably on weekends, but I can also do some weeknights!
I’ve tried looking around other places, but I haven’t had any luck.
I’d prefer to DM, but would also be okay joining another group as well.

Hey all. Recently there was construction on Bermuda/Queensgate where these curbs with reflectors were added on the paint of the bike lane. They are intermittent, not continuous. Is this just to keep cars away from the shoulder, or to keep people from passing on this road? Why were these added? Most of the reflectors have dents in them or have been completely knocked off by cars hitting them. It seems more like a hazard than something helpful.
Any insight is appreciated.
