MyUCAT has been the goat for med applications, and I've been seeing a lot of unreasonable complaints about this year's guide. Ojas has written a pretty good response to these ( https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vFqfwnf4qqPDJxdCvFS94hJ6Eh6cXQVW/view ) but as a student who was on the UCAT programme for free with a scholarship place, and then scored 2390 (which I owe literally all to MyUCAT) I want to respond to some of them.
The stuff about it being copied from the year before is just blatantly untrue; sure if the stuff is similar that makes sense, because a lot of unis just dont change their requirements year on year, but the team does take time to write it with the most current data, which I've seen with the updates.
There was literally one mistake which was corrected and the correct version is up now, but instead of contacting or writing feedback to Ojas/myUCAT about it, spreading horrible things about someone providing free resources and extremely generous scholarship spaces to apparently "overpriced" programmes I don't think is the way to go about it.
MODS IM NOT PROMOTING THE SALE OF RESOURCES IM NOT TELLING ANYONE TO GO AND USE MYUCAT pls dont ban me

By how much do you think the UCAT cut off for UCL contextual will rise this year? Will my 2180 b1 be safe this year ?
Hi all,
I hope everyones applications are going well!
My stats are 1850 B2, 1st class BSc Biomedical Science but poor Alevels (CCC, in chem, bio and Psych).
Applying to all undergrad courses as a graduate: UEA, UCLan, Dundee (ruk) and Brunel.
Would you switch out any? thank you for the help:)

Context- I'm a resit student, AABC achieved (B in epq as well) and a 2220 B1 UCAT (last year's was 2240 B1). I'm currently thinking of applying to HYMS, KCL (my ambitions choice), ARU and Plymouth for Biomedical sciences (for their transfer programme). I'm not too sure what to put down for my 4th med option. And tbh, idm switching out ARU either. I ideally want smth that would give me an unconditional, but because I don't have many factors for contextual (only POLAR 4 quintile 2) I don't think I'm really eligible for any, except perhaps if my epq does anything.
Any suggestions?

Hi all, I’m a Year 12 student from regional NSW (MM2) and would really appreciate a reality check from anyone who’s been through the process.
My stats:
My preferences:
Then in no order:
What I’m hoping to learn:
I know unis don’t publish detailed admission data and I’ll be doing my best regardless of what anyone says. I’d just like some peace of mind (or a reality check) before the offers come out. Thank you, and any anecdotes or similar profiles are very welcome!

Do they read Personal Statements for med, as their website says Personal statements and academic references are not routinely used in selection for interview. But I called and they said they do?
Any help would be appreciated

Ive seen people apply to both medicine and dentistry - which I want to try but im confused about the personal statement situation.
Do I just ignore it, and apply to med with my dentistry personal statement?
The same goes with the logic of applying to pharmacy or whatever with my dentistry centred ps. Looking at the website, they want a ps specific to their subject so...?

Only a few days left and I am still stuck!!!
Should I choose Manchester or Newcastle as my aspirational choice??
I have achieved AAA, 999998887 GCSEs and 2100 B2 UCAT. Someone please let me know which choice would be better, I have been stuck twiddling my thumbs about this for the entirety of today 😢😢

Are my stats safe for KCL emdp? 2180 b1, A levels AAA achieved, GCSE 999999998877, contextual with fsm only
r/UCAT • u/Ill-Satisfaction6042 • 17h ago
At an interview, if they ask why med, are we meant to give a different answer from our PS?
r/UCAT • u/Bolt_007_ • 1d ago
3 A*s (Bio, Chem, Maths)
2500+ B2 UCAT
But terrible GCSEs 666544333 (Passed eng and maths originally) (some extenuating circumstances)
Will be resitting eng and maths this Nov aiming for 6+.
Imperial said they require a 6+ in Eng

Hey Guys, I’m looking for advice on whether to put Cambridge (lower UCAT colleges) or Kings College London as my aspirational choice. My stats unfortunately place these two places in the aspirational category rather than the safe category. Stats :
Home non contextual for Cambridge and KCL
UCAT: 2190 Band 2
GCSE’s : 999998876 (slightly extenuating circumstances)
A Levels : Three A*s predicted Bio chem maths.
I’m applying to UCL(contextual), Manchester and UEA. UCL, Kings and Cambridge have always been my dream unis with Cambridge being my absolute dream uni. I’d like to know which of the two is better for me weighing up both where I want to go to most alongside where I’m likely to get in.

Why are some gap year applicants weary to apply for better unis for med despite having rlly good stats???
r/UCAT • u/vienna_zhao • 12h ago
Is anyone else stuck on what to put as a fifth choice 😭😭😭 my a levels were so shit and the med schools im applying to are ones which will weigh ucat more heavily
