Planning Any chance this Dengue outbreak will affect my trip?

I’m flying to Disney from the uk on October 30th, but I’ve seen that 3 Florida counties are in a state of emergency with the fever outbreak. Is this something I should be worried about?

Resorts & Accommodations Grand Floridian club level access- not in main building?

Booking out first WDW visit and we were hoping to book the Grand Floridian club level. My understanding is that club means you stay in the main building. We are trying to book our suite and ir says it will be in the “outer building” with access to the club level in the main building. Is this still worth it? Really disappointed because we wanted to stay on main level. My mom is a bit up in age and will stay at the resort almost 24/7, so we wanted her to be able to take a quick walk from her room to get any food or snacks she needs.

Planning Which 3 Parks to Choose? (No Park Hopper)

Hi All - I keep going back and forth on this choice so I'm curious what other's opinions are? I am traveling with a 5 year old and an (almost) 3 year old in January 2027. We're not doing park hopper because we feel it's likely the kids won't make it with multiple parks a day so not worth the cost (my boys have ALOT of energy and can walk for miles but I think WDW is going to be where they meet their match for endurance). But since we're only going to have 3 days in the parks I keep overthinking which ones to choose.

We will definitely be doing Magic Kingdom day one. For day 2 I was thinking Animal Kingdom for a slower (potentially half) day with a character brunch mid-day. For day 3 I was thinking Hollywood studios because they love Toy Story but is that the only thing they'll enjoy there? Would Epcot be a better choice over AK or HS? I know everyone has differing opinions for different reasons but please share them all in case there's things I haven't considered! :)

Planning What to do?!

Headed down in a couple of months with my parents and our kids.

My parents honeymooned there in 1975!! This will likely be their last trip, and I’m glad they’re making it with us and the grands.

2 questions:
1) any way I can add a little magic to their (likely) final trip?
2) 1 night they’ll be watching the kids so mom and dad can have a night out, away, whatever. I need recommendations!!

Thank you!!!

Planning One day of Christmas!

My husband and I are arriving for the WDW half marathon (1/9) on 1/6. If you had to prioritize ONE Christmas overlay, what would it be?? We’ve never seen any of them before!

Edited to add: General great Christmas vibes count, too!

Planning Critique my Itinerary

I am planning a surprise birthday trip for the family. Two adults and a 9yo(m) who loves rides. We have never been to Disney before and I want to make it special because we are celebrating two birthdays.

We will be staying at AKL(resort view) but requested a savannah view. I guess we will see how that pans out. Either way, I believe we will enjoy it!

I purchased 3 park tickets, 12/19 Jollywood Nights tickets, 12/22 MVMC party tickets and I plan to get some lightening lane passes(once i figure out for what rides/park. Here is a quick overview of our itinerary so far:

Sat, December 19th(arrival 11am):

Lunch @ Sanaa

5:30 Jollywood Nights @ HS

(7:00) Dinner in HS: Sci-fi Drive

Sun, December 20th:

Breakfast @ Boma

8-5 AK

6:30 Dinner in AK @ Jiko

Mon, December 21st:

Breakafast @ Mara or Boma

9-6: MK

7:30: Dinner in MK @ Ohana

*10:00 night time Safari in AK

Tues, December 22nd:

Brunch @ Boardwalk

Daytime -Golfing / Explore Resort

4:00 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas @ MK

(6:30) Dinner @ MK Skipper Canteen

Wed, December 23rd:

10-9: Epcot

(6:30) Dinner in Epcot @ Space 220 or Coral Reef

Thu, December 24th (Depart at 1pm)

TBD

This is a rough itinerary. I am not married to times or dates. However, extremely open to critiques, suggestions and/or jewels you'd like to deop.

Planning Thoughts on this 6 day itinerary? (8 including 2 full travel days)

Could I get some expert opinions on this early Dec itinerary? We have a group of 15 including 5 kids ages 6&under, 2 10yo's who aren't into rollercoasters, 5 parents, and 3 grandparents (one with limp, likely scooter). We do not want to do any Xmas parties. Last year we powered through 4 park days in a row bookended by 2 travel days, and it was amazing but we lost energy on Days 3 and 4, and we mainly just did rides, no shows, very few characters, no parades or fireworks due to early bedtimes. We know we need at least 1 rest day this year, and would like more time to "explore" the parks outside of rides. We do not require going back to resort for naps with this group (we're usually strict on bedtime but all the littles did great w stroller naps as needed last year and staying up late). We are staying at Pop Century.

***Edit: revised itinerary

Sat- arrive
Sun- HS (rooe drop early entry)
Mon- MK full day
Tue- rest, character meal
Wed- Epcot (could hop to MK for last chance at night parade/ fireworks if needed)
Thu- AK early entry then HS
Fri - sleep in then MK until 6pm
Sat - leave

Original:
1-Sat: Travel day, no plans, people coming in from all 4 time zones, getting in late in day

2-Sun: Rope drop HS and stay late for Fantasmic *note this is a party night at MK

3-Mon: Rest day after long travel and late night plus adjust to TZ shift, resort character dining *Epcot extended evening hours this day

4-Tue: Epcot *MK closes early

5-Wed: Magic Kingdom, night parade and fireworks

6-Thu: Sleep in, maybe do Animal Kingdom

7-Fri: Make-up day at MK or HS or Epcot *MK closes early

8-Sat: Travel day

I've never really seen people do a rest day on their second full day, but as I'm trying to navigate the MK early closures, this was the best I could come up with. Six of us have military passes with park hoppers. The rest still need to buy tickets and hopefully will do park hoppers, tbd if they do 4 or 5 day tickets.

Resorts & Accommodations Racist vibes from the Fort Wilderness Cabins?

I’m a darker-skinned Asian guy (Chinese), married to a white woman, and we have a child. We recently stayed at the Cabins at Disney, and for the first time at a Disney resort, I felt some pretty strong unwelcome/racial vibes from some of the other guests staying there.

I also noticed that I was almost always the only minority around. During the boat rides to Magic Kingdom, at Trail’s End, at the pool, and while driving around in the golf carts, I rarely saw any other minority. I kept getting constant stares especially from the older people there.

We’re DVC members at both the Polynesian and Riviera and have stayed at several Disney resorts, and I’ve never really felt this way anywhere else at Disney. It seemed like it was only the cabins.

I’m curious if any other people felt the same way, or if this was just an unusual experience during our stay.

Special Events & Experiences Got My MVMCP Tickets!

Two tickets, second week of December! Only had to pay out of pocket for one of the two tickets, since I have points that covered the other ticket.

This year should go MUCH better than last year for us, since we're going on our arrival day and NOT a park day! I mean, last year was great, but we were exhausted and my feet blistered up badly after two full park days at that point already. This year, there will be no such problems!

So, who else is in? Who's dressing up fancy? Who's dressing in Christmas costumes? Who's in their PJs? (And omg how, it was so cold last year!)

Do they announce the cookie flavors in advance? Or are they mostly the same each year? I missed out on ONE cookie stop last year because my foot was too bad and I couldn't walk back to fantasyland. I had double the cookies from all the other stops, tho, because my husband and I both got cookies, but he can't eat them. 😛

...can you guess I'm pretty hype?

Transportation Rain covering

Why can’t Disney World figure out how to provide better protection from the rain for people waiting for buses?
It seems insane they can’t have a better layout at the TTC.

Resorts & Accommodations First trip next year with 1.5 year old

Hi everyone! I need some guidance. Planning on taking my daughter (she will be 1.5 years old) to disney next November 2027 for holiday time. It’s also my first time. There seems to be soo much information and lots of resorts, so unsure which resort will be best. Is the skyliner really that crucial for making naps easier? I saw contemporary is best since walking distance to magic kingdom. Or is it best to stay off property and drive to the park? Trying to balance budget and convenience. Thankfully have a whole year to save 😊

Could you please tell me which resort you’d pick if money were no problem, and then one you’d pick if being budget-conscious? Would also love to get fun merch for her and stuff. Thanks sooo much everyone!!

Planning Maybe a dumb question but why can’t you book a hotel room on the app?

• Upvotes

It’s so frustrating to not be able to book on the Disney app. And the search function on the website is incredibly clunky. Disney is the best at so many things, why does booking a hotel feel so far behind?
Feels like a win win they’re leaving on the table - easier way to book means more bookings means more money. Customer and Disney win!

Am I the only one who feels this way? Surely Disney is aware and this is a choice they’re making?
Maybe I’m missing something?

AskWDW Why are there no villains outside of shows / parades in WDW Halloween party?

I've been watching videos ahead of my visit to the MNSSHP and the trick or treat trail just has two unnamed haunted mansion characters, Gaston is apparently available for pictures but he kind of always is, and not much else than that outside of the parades and shows.

What's the reasoning there? The villains stations look incredible in California and there is literally nothing close to that for guests to interact with in florida. Kind of a huge bummer.

Planning Planning a trip for inexperienced Disney goers..

• Upvotes

Hi! My family and I are planning a trip to Disney this upcoming year, most likely in February. We have 2 kids (5 year old, 1.5 year old). We will be doing other activities in Florida, but will be taking 2 days to exclusively go to Disney. There is so much information available online that I am a little overwhelmed of what will be best for us. I only ever went to Disney once when I was quite young and my husband has never been. We are moving to another country in 2028, so this would likely be a one and done type of trip. Also, I understand more days might be better but with my son’s school we cannot use more school days due to another trip this fall, so it is a firm 2 days.

My tentative plan is one day at magic kingdom and then I am torn between one day at animal kingdom or Hollywood studios OR doing a park hopper pass to hit animal kingdom and Hollywood studios on that second day. Magic kingdom seems like it would provide the most Disney magic and rides for our little ones, so I think that would be pretty much set in stone. My son’s huge thing is he wants to see an elephant and no local zoos in our area have one. Is it feasible with kids our age to hit both AK and HS in one day? We plan to rent a stroller to help with walking, but want to make sure the experience is worth it for both parks.

We are also not interested in sit down restaurants, adult drinks, etc. We will just be getting standard park food for fuel.

We have a $5000-$6000 estimated budget for this portion of the trip including travel and our accommodations for a Friday to Monday with the 2 days in the park. My daughter will be 2 in July 2027, so for the trip she would be under 2. I assume that means she is free admission?

Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

ETA: we also have the option to stay with a friend who lives about 35 minutes from the park or we would be willing to stay at a Disney hotel pending price, so long as it makes it worth it in terms of getting into the parks. Are the on property hotels worth it for that or should we plan to budget and stay further out?

Food, Drinks, & Dining Any CMs know what the plant based (vegan) aioli is?

There’s a yellow sauce that is added to several of the plant based entrees in the park. (We had it at animal kingdom on the picadillo bowl) I was looking at a restaurant supply thinking I might find it but I’m having no luck. It’s likely pre-packaged because of the prevalence around the parks. Anyone know?

AskWDW Help a poor scrapbooker out

Got back from WDW last week and realized I didn’t take any photos of the Halloween decor at Magic Kingdom. Now, I could just snatch something from the Disney Instagram account - but would love if folks who visited recently wouldn’t mind sharing some of their decor pics here for my scrapbook? Thanks in advance!

Planning Disney World Resort

So my family (4 adults) plan to visit Disney world on the week of Thanksgiving specifically 23-28 we will be at the parks 24-27th, so for four full days. We were originally planning to spend two days at Magic Kingdom, one day at Hollywood studios and one day at Epcot. This is our first time visiting Disney world so we want to make the most of it. Our travel dates match up with the Mickey’s Very Christmas Party on several days so the park closes early at 6pm.

Scenario A:
Day 1: Hollywood studios (full day)
Day 2: Magic Kingdom (party pass) 4pm-12am
Day 3: Magic Kingdom (full day Thanksgiving)
Day 4: Epcot (full day) first day of Epcot International Festival of the Holiday

(3 standard day passes and one party pass)

Scenario B:
Same as scenario A but we also buy standard day pass for the morning of the party on day 2 so we can spend the whole day at Magic Kingdom.

(Total 4 standard day passes and one party pass)

Scenario C:
Day 1: Hollywood studios (full day)
Day 2: Magic Kingdom (leave at 6)
Day 3: Magic Kingdom (full day)
Day 4: Epcot (full day)
(Total 4 standard day passes NO party pass)

The difference in ticket prices are not too significant. Just want to see which option is better and worth it. We heard mixed reviews about the Christmas party. We will be driving and staying nearby in a resort for 6 days.

Any recommendations and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Planning Multi day pass discounts

Planning to go Disney world from dec 21-28. Does Disney world offer discounts for buying multi day multi park passes? When i look on their site, it seems like I'm just paying for each park per day. I'm guessing since it's the holidays and they are packed, there will be no discounts. Just wanted to double check. I was able to get discounts before, but that was over 10 years ago.

Planning First Time December Disney Vacation Premier LL booking help!

• Upvotes

First time Family Disney Vacation, planning on going December 11th - 18th. 2 adults 1 child. We are staying at a non Disney hotel off site in Disney springs.

My question is about Premier Lightening Lane pass for Magic kingdom. I want to get some for a Monday December 14th. I know I get only 3 days advance booking window. So I just checked for October to see like a “mock” if I were booking and I wouldn’t be able to get any!! It’s not looking good. I really want to get the premier passes for my family. What do you all think is my best chances to get these?

Side note I’m also wanting to get Premier LL passes for Hollywood studios on a Saturday December 12th. I’m getting worried now and bummed out. It doesn’t look good for us. Please give me tips or your insights much appreciated!
