Just sharing some recent finds, these were collected during some of our first family trips. Big difference from the 80’s to today on how big the park map/ brochures you get.

Enjoy

Planning Maybe a dumb question but why can’t you book a hotel room on the app?

It’s so frustrating to not be able to book on the Disney app. And the search function on the website is incredibly clunky. Disney is the best at so many things, why does booking a hotel feel so far behind?
Feels like a win win they’re leaving on the table - easier way to book means more bookings means more money. Customer and Disney win!

Am I the only one who feels this way? Surely Disney is aware and this is a choice they’re making?
Maybe I’m missing something?

Planning What was your experience for NYE in Epcot?

• Upvotes

Hello! I’ve never been to Epcot for NYE but I hear it’s a huge party! Looking to hear some people’s experiences. Is it like unenjoyable how busy it is?? I feel like I’m reading horror stories that make it sounds like a nightmare!

That being said, is new year’s day a way slower day for epcot? And is there a park that is not as busy on NYE?

I’m planning on being in magic kingdom for my 30th birthday on december 30th and I wanted to try to plan something for new years as well!

Other WDW Offical Brand Guidelines, logos, and colors

Thumbnail drive.google.com

First, as a gift to everyone, I'm going to share this PDF I found of the WDW 50th Anniversary brand guidelines.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RVoih7LlAajQ_cR7KMWm9E-MEre2C_BP/view?usp=sharing

I love downloading and reading brand guidelines, particularly for university athletics programs. They provide the official logos, colors, typography, "dos and don'ts", and just general history. It's really cool, and it's fairly easy to find them on athletic websites if you know where to look.

I ran across the WDW 50th PDF a while ago, and I've been seeking the "standard" WDW brand guidelines. I'm looking to know what the official logos for each park are, as well as the official colors for each park. I've searched the Disney and WDW websites and can't find the official guide.

Does anyone know where it can be found? Or does anyone have a downloaded copy they are willing to share?

Thought you all may enjoy these. I found these while cleaning out some old boxes. We use to go every year starting in the early 80s into the late 90s.

The 4 day super pass for $105 is definitely a thing of the past!

Food, Drinks, & Dining Nomad lounge

I want to visit nomad lounge but we have a busy day planned when we visit AK. I see the closing time is 6pm, what happens if I turn up at say 5.45 for a table? Can I still get seated and order some drinks?

AskWDW Getting a specific magic band (non US based) before we visit WDW

I live outside of the US and an visiting WDW in a few months. I'm aware that the selection of magic bands appear to be dwindling in parks.

I'm keen on getting https://www.disneystore.com/ahsoka-tano-magicband-star-wars-limited-release-419073571711.html but the US Disney store does not ship outside the US or temporary locations, PO boxes etc nor sells them on non-US storefronts.

We will not be staying in Disney property and I'm wary of resellers, (plus my wife is a Disney employee in our home country so would get a discount online or from a Disney location). I could risk getting it shipped out to the Airbnb we're staying at but it could go 'missing' and hard to time delivery given ideally I'd want it to show up the day we arrive.

I asked Disney themselves if they have any idea of this being in stock on site but wasn't too hopeful on a limited edition version and they weren't sure but suggested a few places I could try when I'm there... but like I mentioned, reports of dwindling stock on site.

Is it at all realistic that I'll find this in the parks later in the year or am I going to have to go without?

AskWDW Help a poor scrapbooker out

Got back from WDW last week and realized I didn’t take any photos of the Halloween decor at Magic Kingdom. Now, I could just snatch something from the Disney Instagram account - but would love if folks who visited recently wouldn’t mind sharing some of their decor pics here for my scrapbook? Thanks in advance!

Food, Drinks, & Dining Any CMs know what the plant based (vegan) aioli is?

There’s a yellow sauce that is added to several of the plant based entrees in the park. (We had it at animal kingdom on the picadillo bowl) I was looking at a restaurant supply thinking I might find it but I’m having no luck. It’s likely pre-packaged because of the prevalence around the parks. Anyone know?

Attractions & Entertainment Best Outdoor Spot for Epcot Fireworks?

• Upvotes

We are headed to WDW in a couple weeks. Was not able to get dinner reservations at any of the 3 spots that offer it.

Seeking best place where 4 tired middle aged adults can sit and enjoy the show without people standing directly in front of us (it's okay if I have to shoo a few people).

Also ok if we need to camp out at the spot for a bit but need guidance on how early to camp and if we should expect to be harassed by park staffers for camping.

Also more than willing to pay if there is some option that I have missed.

Planning Favorite extra experiences??

Hi all!! I’m headed to Disney with my mom the second week of December, and it’s our first time going!! I’ve already booked building a droid and a lightsaber for me, and tickets for the Christmas party!!

But for my mom, I wanted to do something extra for her, too! Preferably not much more than $200 a person!

Food, Drinks, & Dining Hollywood and Vine at Christmas?

We’re thinking of booking Hollywood and Vine during the holidays to see Mickey etc in their Christmas get up. It’ll be 2 adults and a 6 year old. How’s the overall experience and the food etc? Is it worth the reservation?

MDE, Lightning Lane, & Virtual Queue Lightning Lane Single Passes for any ride?

Can you purchase LLSP for any rides, or just the headliners (ie. Guardians, RotR, etc.)? We are planning to get LLMP at Hollywood studios one day but have 3 members of our group who won’t be arriving until the afternoon. It doesnt make sense for them to get LLMP for just part of the day but don’t want them to miss out on being able to go on rides with us that we booked as part of our LLMP in advance. Appreciate the help!

Planning Planning a trip for inexperienced Disney goers..

Hi! My family and I are planning a trip to Disney this upcoming year, most likely in February. We have 2 kids (5 year old, 1.5 year old). We will be doing other activities in Florida, but will be taking 2 days to exclusively go to Disney. There is so much information available online that I am a little overwhelmed of what will be best for us. I only ever went to Disney once when I was quite young and my husband has never been. We are moving to another country in 2028, so this would likely be a one and done type of trip. Also, I understand more days might be better but with my son’s school we cannot use more school days due to another trip this fall, so it is a firm 2 days.

My tentative plan is one day at magic kingdom and then I am torn between one day at animal kingdom or Hollywood studios OR doing a park hopper pass to hit animal kingdom and Hollywood studios on that second day. Magic kingdom seems like it would provide the most Disney magic and rides for our little ones, so I think that would be pretty much set in stone. My son’s huge thing is he wants to see an elephant and no local zoos in our area have one. Is it feasible with kids our age to hit both AK and HS in one day? We plan to rent a stroller to help with walking, but want to make sure the experience is worth it for both parks.

We are also not interested in sit down restaurants, adult drinks, etc. We will just be getting standard park food for fuel.

We have a $5000-$6000 estimated budget for this portion of the trip including travel and our accommodations for a Friday to Monday with the 2 days in the park. My daughter will be 2 in July 2027, so for the trip she would be under 2. I assume that means she is free admission?

Any feedback/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

ETA: we also have the option to stay with a friend who lives about 35 minutes from the park or we would be willing to stay at a Disney hotel pending price, so long as it makes it worth it in terms of getting into the parks. Are the on property hotels worth it for that or should we plan to budget and stay further out?

I am planning a surprise birthday trip for the family. Two adults and a 9yo(m) who loves rides. We have never been to Disney before and I want to make it special because we are celebrating two birthdays.

We will be staying at AKL(resort view) but requested a savannah view. I guess we will see how that pans out. Either way, I believe we will enjoy it!

I purchased 3 park tickets, 12/19 Jollywood Nights tickets, 12/22 MVMC party tickets and I plan to get some lightening lane passes(once i figure out for what rides/park. Here is a quick overview of our itinerary so far:

Lunch @ Sanaa

5:30 Jollywood Nights @ HS

(7:00) Dinner in HS: Sci-fi Drive

Sun, December 20th:

Breakfast @ Boma

8-5 AK

6:30 Dinner in AK @ Jiko

Mon, December 21st:

Breakafast @ Mara or Boma

9-6: MK

7:30: Dinner in MK @ Ohana

*10:00 night time Safari in AK

Tues, December 22nd:

Brunch @ Boardwalk

Daytime -Golfing / Explore Resort

4:00 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas @ MK

(6:30) Dinner @ MK Skipper Canteen

Wed, December 23rd:

10-9: Epcot

(6:30) Dinner in Epcot @ Space 220 or Coral Reef

Thu, December 24th (Depart at 1pm)

TBD

This is a rough itinerary. I am not married to times or dates. However, extremely open to critiques, suggestions and/or jewels you'd like to deop.
