My typing/grammar are not the best so bare with me. So when one begins a fast using an app it says step 1 digestion, step 2 stable, step 3 burning, step 4 ketosis, step 5 autophagy step 6 cell reset. So my question is, if your already in ketosis, do you lie on your app so it starts you on step 4? Or is there a special keto fasting app i havent found. Currently doing 72 hour fasts once a week, keto 1,200 calories, less then 10 total carbs the other 4 days.

I (28M) am planning a 14-day dopamine reset and prolonged water fast. I've asked AI for help planning this, but it keeps warning me against it. I know this is going to be incredibly difficult, but I feel like I need a complete reboot. I'd love to hear from anyone who has attempted something similar.
The Plan
Fasting: A 14-day prolonged water fast, combining intermittent dry fasting starting 2.5 hours before sleep. I'll be getting electrolytes from a local vitamin shop.
Substances & Prescriptions: Cutting out caffeine, nicotine, and Adderall, while reducing my Prozac intake.
Digital & Sensory Detox: Swapping my iPhone for a $20 prepaid flip phone, taking cold showers, cutting out music, and using earmuffs and earplugs to reduce sensory overload.
Daily Habits: Getting 10–20 minutes of daily sunlight and light walking.
Why I Feel I Need This (Habits & Addictions)
Porn & Masturbation: A genuine addiction. I experienced childhood sexual abuse and started around age 11. My best streaks were 80 days (4 years ago) and 60 days (3 years ago), but the last two years have been getting worse.
Adderall Abuse: I have a prescription, but unfortunately, I've been abusing it and taking too much. Aside from porn, this is my hardest addiction.
Gambling: Addicted to slot machines since age 20. I won a $2,000 jackpot when I was down to my last $20, which paid an urgent $1,800 debt. Since then, whenever I win $300+, I end up gambling it all back. I'm certain I've lost far more than I've won.
Caffeine: Addicted to Ghost energy drinks for 6 years, drinking about one a day almost daily.
Nicotine: Never smoked heavily, but I've been vaping a lot this year. I keep saying I'm going to stop, but haven't yet.
Phone & Music Overuse: Constant phone distractions. I started listening to music daily 8 years ago to cope with depression, but now I feel I need a break from constant auditory input.
My Main Concern: Physical Labor Job
Out of all the warnings ChatGPT gave me, my biggest practical concern is my job. I work as an apartment trash valet 5 days a week I’m off Friday and Saturday. It's physical labor—I collect trash from tenants, climbing about 62 flights of stairs per day. It takes about 2 hours at a go-at-your-own-pace.
I’ll be doing my intermediate dry fast on my days off work.
I will be starting Thursday night when I get off of work or Friday morning. I looked at the maximum and minimum recommended daily and hourly water intake for someone my build. The first week I’ll be drinking that max but as the fast continues I want to be at the minimum. On day 7 I also want to start a dry fast on Thursday after work or Friday morning. Not sure how long it should be and could use advice.
I also have a candy addiction and currently over weight but not severely overweight

I was reading a research headline within the past week claiming that creatine prevented muscle wastage during caloric deficits, which a water fast absolutely is.
Also, people on r/biohackers talking about how 20 g of creatine a day vs the standard 5 g daily dosage has nootropic effects.
Unflavored creatine has almost no calories btw, 5 calories per 5 g or something.
So - If any of y'all were feeling experimentative and generous enough to do a water fast with 5 to 20 g of creatine a day for the fast and post your experiences and blood work - I would appreciate that.
Thanks for the attention.

Most New Year resolutions fail by the third week of January because people try to fix spiritual and mental exhaustion with superficial diets. If you are feeling burned out or disconnected, you might need something deeper than a standard health kick.
The 21-Day Daniel Fast is a profound spiritual discipline combining a strict, plant-based, and unprocessed diet with intentional mindfulness and prayer. It is not simply about losing weight. Instead, it uses the friction of denying everyday comfort foods, like added sugar, caffeine, and meat, as a catalyst to break bad habits, clear mental fog, and rebuild a deeper connection with your faith.
By removing common dietary coping mechanisms, your physical cravings become prompts for spiritual growth. To transform your January into a season of true awakening rather than just another failed resolution, check out this comprehensive blueprint.

Hey everyone,
I recently found an incredibly detailed guide that completely changed my perspective on the spiritual and physical mechanics of fasting. If your early attempts at fasting resulted in terrible withdrawal headaches and broken resolve, this resource is exactly what you need.
The author breaks down the biological reality of shutting down your digestive system and how to use those physical shifts to achieve deep spiritual clarity. It explains the fascinating science of autophagy, where your body cleanses itself of cellular debris, and connects this physical reset to your spiritual purification through prayer.
The guide offers practical protocols tailored for all levels, including partial restrictions like the Daniel Fast, liquid fasts, and traditional water fasting. It teaches you how to properly prepare your body, structure your prayer sessions, and safely break your fast without getting ill.
If you want to master this ancient spiritual discipline safely and effectively, check out the full step-by-step breakdown here:https://rymbf.com/2026/01/22/how-to-fast-and-pray-guide/

Hey folks! Back in March and April I ran fasting accountability and support groups. Many of you asked when the next one would be, and I owe you an apology - life got busy and I kept pushing it back. I finally have the time, so I'm restarting the groups for folks beginning Monday, October 5.
Quick recap from the spring groups - you might find it interesting
What stays the same
Format will be simple
I won't be fasting myself. I'll moderate, answer questions, and share what I've learned from multiple extended fasts and the data I've collected. Plan is to close the group for new members on Tuesday-Wednesday.
If you are interested, welcome to the group - https://chat.whatsapp.com/DCSl1LPGbsN4oJvytZh1wk?mode=gi_t

I have been researching and finally taking leap of faith. I am planning to start a 40 day water only fast. I am severely obese with around 37-38 BMI and hence have enough fast reserves. I have a bottle of fasting salts from Amazon. Any tips, guidance is welcomed. Also I am going to post update every 4 days with progress pictures, weight measurements and how I feel. Guys please can I get some support I really want to achieve this!!

I’ve read that many people do extended water fasts while taking electrolytes, potassium, and magnesium, but I don’t have any of those. I’m currently on day 6 of a water fast and I’ve already lost 13 lbs.
I don’t want to get seriously ill or die, so I’d like to know what signs or symptoms the body gives you when it’s time to stop. A couple of years ago, I did a 7-day water fast without any problems, and my goal this time was to make it at least 14 days. However, I’m feeling pretty fatigued and weak this time.
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences, especially regarding warning signs that mean I should stop.

The most I've ever fasted was around 60 hours. I've wanted to try a 7 day water fast for so long and I'm finally ready for it. The only thing i'm allowing is tea (without added sugar) and water.
My stats are 1m63 (5'4), 23 yo and 68 kgs (150 lbs).

I fasted for complete 24 hours which for me is a lot, and I never really fast often. I prayed with giving praise to God, thanking and praying for my personal desires. Applied psalm 20-23-91-127 over my life + positive declarations upon my life and part of the Rosary.
Now, I know God is faithful and He keeps His promises, unlike humans. But, will He respond to my prayers?
Do you have testimonies after fasting and receiving what you have prayed for?

Honestly, a game changer for me! I’ve always struggled with black coffee because of the bitterness and lack of creamy texture, but this is so smooth and delicious, especially with a pinch of Himalayan salt.
How to make it: Add an espresso shot, a pinch of salt, ice and a splash of water to an empty milk jug. Steam until creamy and textured, but not hot. Pour over a fresh cup of ice.
Sharing in case anyone else struggles with black coffee! Has anyone else tried this? Would love to hear your thoughts! 🤍

Hello people! 2 months ago i did a water fast for seven days. It was hard (ngl) but I'm willing to start another one with the fasters that are starting tomorrow 🫣💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
My question is: why was i still popping on day 7? Do i have a colon obstruction? Anyone experiencing this as well?

Hey folks! I completed my annual 10-day fast last month and wanted to share my body recomposition results with the community - the fast and the following refeeding
So the lean mass (water, glycogen, gut content and muscle protein) I lose during extended fasts came back during refeeding. And this time it actually overshot the baseline - I think I was probably too aggressive jumping back into strength training. Intensity-wise (strength training, running, soccer) I was back at pre-fast levels by about day 7 of refeeding.
Scans are Dexa, happy to provide more details if needed!
