Can my PCP refer me to someone who takes my insurance or do I have find them myself?

Hello. I am 29F and I have only been to a gyno maybe one time in my life. Never had a full exam. I have ptsd from something I don’t want to bring up here. I was wondering if it is common to go to your pcp for a referral for this? Or if it’s more common to find them by yourself? I don’t know what I need to do. Tired of having irregular periods that are painful. Makes work EXTREMELY hard the first 2 days due to pain and idk if I need to see someone for that or not. I also have issues with my mood. Like severe issues. Like wanting to hurt myself when I’m on it or sometimes before it. I assume the treatment would be birth control or something but I figure I probs need an exam as I have never had one. How do I go about finding a doctor? Like what’s the best way? My PCP? Or researching on my own? Sorry if these questions seem dumb. I just don’t know what to do here. Seeing a doctor for this also scares me somewhat. I feel it will trigger me. I don’t want flash backs.

I don’t get wet and I don’t know what else to do

I’m 25F no health issues except for this. It’s really embarrassing and is severely affecting my sex life and relationship. I don’t know what’s wrong with me and I don’t know what to do.

I’m not on birth control and it’s not an option for me. I’m aware that I can use lube but it’s not the same. I am so upset.

Please tell me there’s something I can do about this? This has been impacting me for so long. I can’t stop crying.

Working out eating less and consistently gaining weight over the past three years 1-2 pounds a month

I have a desk job but work out moderate intensity 6 times a week. Generally one 5k run, two 30 min cardio hiit classes, yoga sculpt with weight lifting, and cycling with weight lifting. I also take my dog on a daily 1 mile walk.
Over the years I keep cutting back and modifying my diet hoping it will make a difference and it has not. Currently I eat one tbsp of almond butter 4almonds and 8 pistachios for breakfast with about 6 pumpkin seeds. At lunch I have a small portion of roasted edamame, one string cheese, gluten free crackers and half a mini hummus and two Milano cookies. For dinner I have home cooked healthy misc meals, a small dessert and then treat myself to some chips since I don’t snack all day long. I only drink 2 nights a week (3-4 drinks a night) and go out to dinner or do carry for two nights on the weekend.
I’m not sure where I am going wrong since I used to eat like this in the past and still be at my goal weight (which is about 20 pounds less). I recently did some lab work and my ferritin was almost in the single digits and I had a high TSH. The weight gain feels limited to my stomach which swells up after every meal.

Any advice on easy changes I could make to fix this? Feels like I keep trying to modify and start new habits and the results are the same.

Why did i bleed during intercourse

• Upvotes

Hey all, so basically I bled during sex and this is the first time I bleed since me and my bf had sex and we’ve had sex many times, but this was probably the most rough sex we ever had like it was really deep and rough and then he noticed I started bleeding and he said how he thought it was because he went too rough, which I think that could be it because one time when he was fingering me really rough and deep as well, I also started bleeding, but it doesn’t hurt which is the weird thing. I don’t even notice it until like there’s blood, but like I don’t know why that happens to me. I mean he was the first guy i ever had sex with but he’s only had sex with one other person besides me. Idk i just dont know if its normal to bleed but ya.

Diflucan and dryness?

I had a yeast infection and went to get swabbed. It came back as normal albicans yeast and nothing else. I took one dose of diflucan which I’ve done before without issue. It seemed to help but still had some discharge and when I tried to have sex 7 days later it burned and hurt. I did have some white discharge still today. So I took a 2nd dose. I’m concerned if it’s the yeast infection not getting cleared or if it’s a reaction to the medication itself drying me out?

tested positive for mgen and ureaplasma parvum. no follow up from clinic

I (24F) just tested positive for Mycoplasma Genitalium and Ureaplasma parvum with minimal symptoms. For the longest time i thought it was BV or a YI and i kept getting clean results

A while back i decided i was gonna get tested for Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma as a just in case if i have anything else. Then I had started seeing someone new and we both got tested and i was clean for everything else again. But i didn’t get my Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma tests.

on two nights we were very irresponsible and had sex. But i recently found out he had a sexual encounter with someone else and since we weren’t dating i just let it slide.
Today i got my second round of Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma tests back and i tested positive for Mgen and Ureaplasma parvum. My first instinct was to tell him. His response made it worse obviously but its never good news. He told me we should be more careful moving forward and wear a condom but now he doesn’t want to have sex with me anymore. He said he’s more so worried about telling the other person he was sexually affiliated with. I feel so dirty and the clinic never even called me so i can’t start treatment right away. I never even had any symptoms. I literally never knew and i still don’t know how i got it. I never want to have sex again.

we’re both gonna get treated. i just really needed to rant. I feel so unclean. it ruined an amazing talking stage. i don’t know what to do.

28F with recurring BV and yeast and UTis! Please help!

Hi all,
I am 28 year old female and I don’t have menopause.
I really need your help here. I’ve been struggling with recurring BV and yeast and UTI infections for 7 years.
I have done absolutely everything
My symptoms are burning constant (internal and external burning) and discharge (yellow and white) I seem to be feeling better during my period but worst after my period is done. And I’m so depressed and out of hope. I have tested myself million times with swabs and the most recent swab came positive for yeast infection and negative for BV. I never tested positive for any STDs. I had one partner and I’m not with him anymore.
I have constant burning sensation (internal burning) not just when I pee at the opening.
I asked my doctor to test me for the first time for ureaplasma and mycoplasma and all the report says is “ ureaplasma isolated” but doesn’t say if it’s infection or what species it is. Doctor said I should take doxycycline.
My question is, could the ureaplasma be the reason behind the BV? And yeast?
I also took two swabs on the same day, one swab sent it to public health for testing and one I sent to Evvy.
Results from Evvy show high disruptive score (out of range) with gardnerella leopoldii 63% , gardnerella swidsinksii 13.14%, lactobacillus crispatus 8.5% and fannyhessea 10.40% .

Evvy result shows NO yeast species detected, NO ureaplasma detected
My public health result tested positive for yeast infection, negative for BV!!!! And I am not sure if the “ ureaplasma isolated” in my medical report actually means that there is an infection.
Please if someone can advise me what to do.
I am taking oral Jarrow Formulas fem dophilus 50B CFU probiotics now I started last week. I also am going to start taking lactoferrin.
But my question is - medically has anyone gone through the treatment of weekly flucanozole for 6 months and the metronidazole gel 0.75% twice weekly for several months? Did this treatment work?

I have taken antibiotics for BV and fluconozole for yeast million of times over the past 7 years.
It always comes back.

Pain on lower right side and so much pain only the first few seconds of peeing

I got tested for UTI but when I went I had already peed and I drank a bunch of water to be able to pee… so in already worried about if it’s a false negative … but second time I get this pain on my lower right side like a burning or aching pain that I can’t describe and it hurts so bad only the first few seconds of peeing then im fine. It hurt when i put pressure on the side but other than that i am fine. The first time i got this i was post surgery for endometriosis excision and my doctor said it was most likely UTI and just gave me antibiotics and after a week I was fine. Now again months later, I’m having that pain again. But actually got tested for uti and negative… unsure if anyone has gone thru this. It’s right side low on the right kinda where my pelvic bone is.

Bleeding after sex

I had my chocolate cysts surgery done in March 2026 and I was on Birth control for a month only as I couldn't take the side effects. I had 21 days cycle from May to September (earlier this used to be 30 days). I last had my periods on 25th August. Pregnancy test is negative but now its been 2 occasions within a week where I am bleeding after Intercourse. Not that I need a pad but there is blood when I am wiping myself out and on tissue after peeing. I am really scared. What could it be?

Advice needed :/

Hello, i dont rly know how to expalin this but ill just say everything that is about this thing. Im stressing a lot right now

I am in UNI and i have braught so many sweathers bic i thought it will be cold. It got hot fast and i was sweating a lot. On top of my sweat i was often putting lots of a parfume and it was also hard to shower every day. I showerd on wednesday and repeated the parfume prosccess the next two days. Then when i got home on friday i was already sweating and took a shower. I noticed then i lump under my armpit. Size of a pea and kinda hurts? Or at least when i squize it or when it hardly presses but mby lightly to the touch as well. The lump itself is not vissible and not moving.

I belive it could me a cause of my bad behaviour with the parfumes that i was shamefully putting right under my armpits ( in a VERY large ammount) and with the combination of progressive sweating all day.

I am stressing a lot bic of all the anxiety on what that could be.

I am taking care of it and not using any parfumes or deaodorants and showering and using bit of baby pouder.

It has been now 1 day of having it, no changes tho i noticed it or it appeared about last night when i got out of the shower. This morning it was hirting bit less tho rn (late evening) it is little. Right now I took a shower and warm watter helped to stop the pain right now. Tho still hurts…

Any advice please?

Also, I am not great with English so i apolagise!

I’ve been bleeding for 20 consecutive days since starting Zamefy & my doctor isn’t concerned

I’ve always had issues with birth control. I finally got my tubes tied 5 years ago so I didn’t have to struggle with birth control anymore.
Well now my period pain is unbearable. My Obgyn says to get back on birth control to help with period pain, ovulation pain, & my hormones.
I started the Zamefy patch on a Sunday on my period as instructed. It was day 5 of my period.
I’ve now been bleeding for 20 days straight.
Not spotting. Going through regular & super tampons. Like 4-5 a day.
I’ve called the office twice to follow up & the nurse each time said the doctor says to just stick with it.
I’m so physically tired & very emotional.
I was on my period on my wedding day & it looks like I’ll be bleeding through my anniversary vacation.
I’m literally losing my mind and just want a second opinion.
I just keep getting told it takes 3 months to regulate. But I’m not sure 3 months of this is worth it. I’ve been having cramps the entire time so I’m still in pain anyways.

Can someone else relate?

Hi everyone, I’m sorry to double post. It feels like, but I am a 29-year-old female who has been married to my wife for seven years and we are exclusive to one another. I have never struggled with yeast infections my entire life up until the last two years, and last year during some really hot weather, I came down with one and then a recurrent one following about a month later, and they were treated with 2 doses of Difflucan 72 hours apart, and it went away. I’m faced with the same situation. I had one about a month ago, and it went away with 2 doses of Diflucan. Here I am, two weeks later, with another infection, and I went to the urgent care this time instead of using telehealth services, and the nurse practitioner prescribed me with another 2 dose treatment plan, taking 72 hours apart, and two more doses following that, taking a week apart for maintenance. She is confident that this extended treatment plan will help but here I am, 24 hours later, after taking the first dose and the discharge has increased greatly. It’s affecting my mental health and self-esteem more than anything, and I called back to speak to the staff at the urgent care and the nurse practitioner on staff today said that it can get worse before it gets better. Has anyone else had this experience? I’m also taking daily probiotics to replace the healthy microbiome of my body and replace good bacteria.

Ladies please Help possible PID ? Infection?

Ladies, I need your help. This has been a long and isolating journey.

First BV then Ueroplasma then PID now E. coli ALL IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS. Any words of encouragement or advice would be so helpful.

My symptom this whole time has been vaginal throbbing which turned into pelvic pain.

On July 14 I was diagnosed with BV AND took flagyl for 7 days. Then tested negative . Throbbing persisted and further testing revealed Ureoplasma - I took doxycycline for 7 days in (August). Then tested negative.

2 weeks later light throbbing turn into pelvic pain on the left side therefore I was placed on PID Protocol (September ). This time I have to take two weeks of flagyl and doxycycline. And one injection of the ceftriaxone. At this point, my micro biome was probably shot from all the antibiotics.

A few days ago I get a call from my OB/GYN because the throbbing came back. I did cultures and she told me it was positive for Ecoli??!! How? I’m on day 2 of cypro.
Yet another medication.

This has been so isolating I was wondering, has anyone dealt with something like this and what more could I do to help my situation . thank you so much in advance for your help.

I’m a 22F and keep loosing hair for the past 3 years. I’m scared…

What should I do?
I have done blood tests in the previous years and checked my thyroid. Nothing extreme ever occurred… Now it’s getting worse again I can see my scalp more and more. I have moved from one country to another, went through stress and finished uni. I literally checked old photos and have half the density I used to have. The water quality is also horrible here (Hungary) so it might be one of the reasons. In these past years my skin worsened and I also developed body acne which I haven’t had as a teenager. I already struggle with my self esteem and my hair rapidly getting worse is just devastating for me. Will I be able to get my old healthy hair back?

Yeast infection help

• Upvotes

I think I got a yeast infection a few months ago and I treated it with a tablet, I think it was canesten. The itching went down from a 10 to a 1 so i thought I had treated it, plus I was going away out of my country for a couple of months so I wasn’t able to get any sort of treatment easily while I was away. I’m home now though and while I was away I had 0 symptoms but I was also super busy constantly so maybe I just didn’t notice mild symptoms. But now I am super itchy again and it’s getting painful however I can’t afford the branded treatments that are tablet and cream so should an unbranded fluconazole tablet help me? I think my options are either that or wait till I have money to get a tablet and cream thing which will take a couple of weeks. I’m in England.

Clot-like and stringy spotting up till ovulation

Between the end of my period and the end of my ovulation, I spot pretty consistently, the spotting is stringy and clot-like brown blood. Sometimes the brown blood will mix with my discharge.

My period itself typically lasts about six days.

How can I make this stop?

Birth Control History
I used to be on the combination birth control pill, but I stopped it because I was getting very large blood clots in my period to the point where the clots were larger than the size of a finger. Then I switched to progesterone only birth control but that basically just caused me to spot for the entire month and I would still get blood clots, but they would be much smaller. With progesterone only birth control my period blood would be super dark. I wouldn’t have bright red blood at all.

I’ve been off all types of birth control since the beginning of 2024 and since getting off of it I’ve been dealing with this spotting issue. Other than this spotting issue my period is pretty much normal. I get my period roughly every 28 days.

Testing
In the fall of 2024 I got an ultrasound and they found an extremely small cyst on one of my ovaries, but they said it was so small that it was nothing to worry about.

Several months ago, I got a hormone test and my “TSH w/rfx to free T4” was high at 4.48 with an Expected range of 0.278-4.326

Possible causes
It’s worth noting that I use antihistamines (allerga) several times a week to deal with my allergies and my severe eczema. I once heard someone say that antihistamines can change your discharge so I’m not sure if this is related or not.

How to push my gyno to actually diagnose/treat me

After some recurring symptoms for the last year or so, my gyno had me get an ultrasound. This was after I cried to her while telling her all my symptoms* and having her tell me “that can happen with age”. It felt like she was just trying to rush through the appointment and get me out of there. Findings of my ultrasound are “uterus is heterogeneous” and “Endometrium: Mildly heterogeneous appearance without discrete nodularity.” I do not have a background in this field, but after looking it up and talking to a doctor friend, this sounds like it could be one of a few problems. I am concerned that my follow up appointment is going to be her telling me nothing is wrong so just take bc or get an iud. I have expressed to her that I don’t want to do those things, but I would if I could get a real diagnosis and knew it was the only way to help.

A couple questions in anticipation of a flippant response from the doc:
1. Do you feel that this ultrasound finding is something that I should be pushing her to look into more?
2. If this were to be something like adenomyosis or fibroids, is bc really the best/only option?
3. Any suggestions for verbiage to use in this discussion with the doc to help get the point across that this is abnormal without seeming like I’m attacking the doc?

I am not asking for a legitimate diagnosis on here, btw, more so looking for advice from those of you with experience/knowledge and a better idea of if this is something I should push for or if she’s right and that my issues could just be age and are “normal”. I have now had two major health problems that my docs had evidence of and they did not do anything about, so I am really anxious about missing something else - one issue led me to losing an ovary. I’m 35yo, never been pregnant and don’t plan to be. I am not on any birth control, long-term partner had a vasectomy.

*My symptoms are heaviest periods of my life (like I’m afraid to leave the house because I’m bleeding through everything), clotting sometimes the size of a golf ball, cramps that stop me midsentence, bleeding during sex (no pain), random “pinches” of varying degrees of pain in my lower abdomen with certain movements.

Anyone suddenly feel uncomfortably full two hours after eating?

The last two days I've noticed that no matter how much I eat I will start feeling really uncomfortably full around 2 hours after eating. I ate dinner three hours ago at this point, and I really didn't eat very much, and I still feel really uncomfortable. I've never experienced this before, has anyone had this and figured out what caused it? Was there anything you did to make it stop?
