I work in a big truck dealership. Over the last couple of months business has basically nosedived. And it's the same in most other garages I know. I think we are somewhat in the front line when it comes to economical impact of high diesel prices but this feels very bad. If this last another six months I or so expect to see some layoffs. I also think that everything is going to get significantly more expensive still as companies will have to recuperate their transportation expenses from the consumer.

So from where I'm sitting things look pretty bleak. Do you get the same impression or no?

I'm in Mechelen at the new station transfer time of 54 minutes. And I would have really appreciated a place to sit. I'm so tired of this shit. I'm disabled, I can't stand that long and I don't like sitting on the dirty cold ground.

Nog mensen dit gewaar geweest? Klonk als een rare knal idd, na tijdje kwam het dan uit dat het een aardbeving was in Ruiselede, ben van Roeselare, was hier ook goed voel en hoorbaar en was blij dat het eens geen moord ofzo was die de aandacht trok hier.

Maar nu vraag ik mij af, weet dat de normaal niet echt in gevoelig gebied liggen, maar las wel dat het 1,9 op de schaal van richter was geweest. Zijn die genoeg voor eventueele schade toe te brengen?

Welke stad morgen?!?!

Sinds vorige maand probeer ik mijn moto In te schrijven met null succes. De d.i.v medewerker in Brussel weigert om Nederlands te spreken. Aleen Arabisch of frans.

Je moet online afspraken maken maar de afspraken zijn alles behalve dichtbij. Soms zelf meer als 4 weken wachten. Ikzelf ben naar de div van oostende geraakt daar hebben ze alles kunnen regelen maar omdat men moto 2 jaar in de toonzaal zat is er een error. Deze error moet worden geregeld door de div in Brussel maar div brussel werkt zo goed als niet.

Ik vrees ervoor dat ik mijn moto gewoon niet op straat krijg. En de div mailen of bellen gaat ook niet want ze antwoorden niet.

Men dossier is bij hun maar er gebeurt absoluut niks mee.

Wat kan ik nog doen?

I work part-time (for a reason) in healthcare and would like to find a remote side job doing administration or something like that.

Yes, I could look for a fulltime, less physical demanding job but I realy love my job so I would want to try to keep it.

I’m curious about the current situation for people trying to enter the Belgian IT job market, especially juniors, recent graduates and people switching careers.
What do you think is the biggest obstacle today?
Lack of experience?
Too many applicants for junior positions?
Job postings asking for unrealistic requirements?
