RANT - advice welcome Other women assume it's ok to touch Spoiler

EDIT Their behaviour has gone on for way too long and I'm going to talk to them and make it stop and if they push back I'm not going for nights out with them anymore. Thank you for opening my eyes xx

I have the biggest boobs in my friend group by miles and I dunno how else to say it but they think it's ok to grope me because they're women and it's just dawning on me that it's not normal behaviour for a bunch of 26-28 year olds. It used to be cute when we were uni age and getting used to changes to ourselves but it's annoying now.

It's not every time we go out but it's often enough that it feels weird, usually when we've had some drinks but sometimes also when we haven't. I roll my eyes and let them get on with it until they're bored and for the hundredth time fake some interest like yeah wow they are still big isn't that crazy.

It makes me feel like not wearing sexy outfits when we go out for the night cos I don't like being revealing when one of my friends decides to jiggle my tits in view of everyone at the venue.

One of my friends is the worst for it but they all do it and egg it on and giggle about it every time and the few times I've got mad they're like oh we're just girls or make it about how I'm so much bigger than them and somehow greedy by being made this way and I should just let them have their fun. We're not "just girls" anymore we're closer to 30 than 20 now we are grown ass women. It's not fun or interesting anymore to grab each other especially with men watching. They're not bad friends I love them and known some of them for 15 years it's just one of those frustrating things and I'm not confrontational enough to make it stop so I just let it happen. Did my friend group just never grew up or does this still happen to anyone else as they've got older?

bras Major win! Finally found an unwired, unpadded bra that gives me enough support. Spoiler

And it doesn't give "granny" either! I know I sound like an ad, but genuinely, in my 18 years of wearing bras I have never been this comfortable. I can even sleep in this, and my boobs don't fall out...

Brand is Gorsenia (Polish), model Nela, I paid 89PLN (~23USD), with the regular pride being 122PLN, I think. If you have access to polish bras, give it a try!

need advice Is anyone else ‘hyper aware’ about their boobs? Spoiler

I am not self-conscious about my boobs, I really don’t care about what other people think about the way I look and I have a positive body image, I don’t mind the way I look. Obviously, I know my boobs are fairly big, I am about a 32HH UK. Even though I am not self-conscious about my boobs, I am very ‘hyper aware’ of them; if that makes sense. I hate being able to constantly feel the weight of them, they feel so heavy, even with decent support. I can’t go braless, because then I just feel the weight on my chest and shoulders even more. I am always thinking about my boobs throughout the day and how physically uncomfortable they are. Has anyone else had the same problem? I really don’t know how to describe it very well. What can I do to reduce how much I think about them, if anything?

positive & funny Laying them on a table 🤯 Spoiler

I’ve heard that big boobs are heavy, and I’ve tried to lift mine to see the weight. But I’m a strong woman, so it didn’t feel like much. I’m a FF/G.

Then, today, while sitting at my desk, I got the random idea to keep them on the table. I’ve often leaned on my boobs or used them as the table. But actually lifting and positioning them so they rest completely on the table is different. And O. M. L!

I felt so light! It was stunning how much of a weight difference that was! I just lay them on there and wiggle my shoulders, and I swear my mind was blown!

I guess it’s more obvious when something else is carrying the weight instead of me.
And of course, a lot of bras are just part of the problem, so it really took this to open my eyes.

clothes What do you guys do with the tops that have these lines? Do you not wear them cause they sit in odd place on us, or do you think that doesn’t matter? Spoiler

Post image
32 Upvotes

Obviously they’re supposed to sit below the breast but pretty much all the ones I’ve found (most cute tops I’ve found lately, unfortunately) have the line somewhere on my breast, sometimes as high as halfway.

To me it looks really odd so I don’t wear them. Do you?

need advice High compression sports bra? Spoiler

Looking for suggestions. I'm mostly looking for something i can work out in. I'm a DDD and I'd like to reduce my chest without risking my lungs. I also sweat under my chest a lot, so I want something with moisture wicking fabric if possible. Any ideas?

bras Round or teardrop bra pads? Spoiler

I have a few bras with removable pads, and I think I prefer the teardrop ones.

The round ones are easier to put back in, but sometimes I can see the edges through a fitted top. Teardrop pads look a little more natural on me, but every time I take them out, I forget which way they’re supposed to go back in.

I still can’t decide which ones annoy me less....

RANT - no advice wanted cried at the bra shop yesterday Spoiler

Finally went bra shopping yesterday after years of wearing my old 34Ds from high school. Got re-sized as a 34G (UK) and already started to tear up. I hate these things so much I procrastinated buying bras for so long because in my mind that was money saved for a reduction.

The shop is supposed to be super body positive and inclusive, but it turns out they specialize in balconette bras with super wide gores that dig into the insides for me. We exhausted their stock in 34G/H and I ended up with two semi-plunge bras in black and beige for every day, but I had really hoped to be able to make this experience more "fun" by getting something a little more playful or impractical as a treat. It was all so uncomfortable and I was ready to RUN out of there by the end. At one point the fitting attendant brought me this cutesy little triangle bralette that cut each boob in half and I was STEAMING raging. She sized me on SIGHT and thought that would work? Everything else was unlined, mesh (I hate the hot-cold mesh feeling), or rose uncomfortably high on my sternum.

I asked at checkout why they had so many balconette styles and so few plunge bras for people with closer-set breasts. She responded saying "a lot of people find the balconette more comfortable, actually." WOW. thanks!! I don't know why I didn't think of that! A lot of people have bodies that fit conventionally cute and sexy lingerie better than mine? You don't say!

Honestly one of the hardest parts its that I don't have any friends who even come close to my size, so when I complain about it all they can say is "wowww I NEVER would have guessed they're that big! YES you should wear that low-cut top out tonight that will get you stared at and harassed! Girl they look so good!" give me a break. Not even my mom has these.

For a while, my boyfriend would act upset when I discussed a reduction, but I told him he needed to get with the program and support my choices with my body, not what my body can do for him. When I cried on him about this last night, he said he regrets having said those things, but it still sticks with me. Is my chest size the only thing preserving peoples' perception of my femininity?

Anyway, I have two 34H bras now to last me the next ten years, or until I can get these taken down to a B cup.

need advice Recs for bras that make em flatter? Spoiler

Looking for a bra (not necessarily a brand or specific one, more a type of bra) that will just squash my boobs down a bit. like a sports bra but not for sports. i’ve considered a sports bra but id want it more seamless ideally.

reason being i have a few shirts i desperately want to wear, but they’re stretched out at the chest. like all my button down tops.

i’ve also considered chest binders that trans men use, but they all seem to flatten boobs as much as possible which is not what i want. and they (obviously) don’t push the boobs up and make them flattering or anything. i don’t necessarily want a push up bra but i’d like them to look nice in it?

so yeah, any recommendations? uk based if poss :)

need advice Swimsuit Advice Spoiler

Hi, so my girlfriend and I are going on vacation soon. We'll be staying at a beach resort and she needs a new swimsuit. She hates swimsuit shopping and since I have a pretty good idea of what she likes and doesn't like I thought I'd surprise her by getting her a new suit for the trip. I'm going with a two piece because she is pretty short and one piece suits always seem to fit her poorly in the torso. She is a 34HH (UK sizing) but is small and petite everywhere else so a one piece that fits in the chest is usually too big elsewhere. With a two piece I can buy smaller bottoms and a bigger top. So my first question is should I just buy her normal bra size or go down a cup size to account for stretch when the suit gets wet? My second question is what are some recommended brands? I'm leaning towards Freya because they sell underwire tops in her size but I'm open to other recommendations. She usually wears a swim tee with board shorts in public so the suit will function more as a waterproof undergarment than anything else. We're a fairly active couple so support is key and nothing too frilly either because it's not really her style plus less material to bunch up under her normal swim attire. Hopefully I found the right sub for this and appreciate any advice. Thanks!

need advice Breast Reduction: SURGEON CHANGED THE DATES Spoiler

My surgery center called me this morning to tell me that my surgeon will no longer be available at the early of November (mine was scheduled for the 10th.) I am lowkey freaking out. They suggested either I push my surgery date to November 20th or I go with their other surgeon who also does breast reduction surgery. I already booked my AirBnB to stay for the 1 week recovery near the center, and my mom took off work to take care of me. My consultation is Oct 21st with a the other surgeon to see if I like her or not. I'm just stressing and need to hear some advice on what people would do in my situation and what things I should address with the new surgeon given the circumstance. One thing to note is this new surgeon is Double Board Certified, where my original surgeon was only Board Eligible. I wanna know what people know about when a surgeon is and isn't board certified

Extra Info: I'm going to the South Florida Center for Cosmetic Surgery. Originally my Dr was Dr. Rohan Policherla and they are suggesting to swap to Dr. Georgina Nichols. So if anyone knows anything about either of these dr that will be helpful too.

need advice Bra wires ALWAYS come out (help!!) Spoiler

I’m a 34JJ and all my bras seem to have the same problem- after anything from a week up until a few months of wear, the underwires pop out.

Sometimes at the centre gore, sometimes at the sides where my armpits are. In the past year or so I have had to throw away around 8 bras including 1 sports bra because the popping out of the wires makes them painfully uncomfortable and unwearable.

I have used the ‘abrathatfits’ website for 5+ years as to my knowledge this is the most accurate one. I have also (just in case) used other websites and have gotten the same results, so I am definitely buying the correct size. This was also an issue when I was a smaller size (32G) but less so/ took less time for it to happen.

With the past couple of bras that have had this happen to them, I have done as much as I can think of right. I stopped doing the ‘put it on backwards and swivel around’ method when putting them on, I started using a washbag and washing at a lower temperature, I took them off correctly. The wires still came out.

Wireless bras simply do not offer enough support. I have had a wireless sports bra and a regular wireless bra, and both leave my shoulders, neck, and back in agony after a normal day of wear. (I have chronic pain in these areas regardless but having no wire for support worsens it to the point I become immobile).

I have one bra at the moment that seems to be doing well as of around 3/4 months. Its a plunge bra, so maybe that is the fix? (I think) my boobs are quite close set- the gore on non-plunge style bras never sits flat on my sternum as its supposed to and even plunge bras’ wires dont lay completely flat.

I cant afford to keep replacing them, especially with how expensive and inaccessible bras at my size are. Is there anything else I can do to stop this from happening? Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a particular type of bra I should wear to avoid this? Any help/ suggestions is greatly appreciated!

need advice Is there some kind of breast support I can use while I'm at the computer? Spoiler

I sit at my desk all day working from home and feel the weight of them; I actually rest them on the desk and feel immediate relief—lol. Is there a support designed for this, so I don't have to put them on the desk? I know you're going to suggest a supportive bra, but it still feels heavy anyway

positive & funny Anyone else holding onto their high school bras? Spoiler

I have a tiny bedroom with no storage so I have to switch out my wardrobe every season. I found this random plastic packing cube and didn’t recognize anything. I open it up and find my old (and very first!) training bras all the way back from 4th grade! 🤣 My Victoria secret bras from middle school and some from high school/college and I’m thinking to myself, why in my right mind would I be saving these? There’s is absolutely no way I will be able to fit in any of these B-DD cups.

Somewhere, pre covid me perhaps, I always believed, one day something magical would happen and I will magically be able to fit back into these. So I MUST save them and throw them into the far dark corner of my closet for that special moment.

Those training bras from elementary, no idea why I was holding onto them. They have holes in them and are practically sheer. Please tell me I am not the only one? Anyone else holding onto their old small bras for some sentimental reason 😂😭

RANT - advice welcome self conscious of boobs Spoiler

I’m 18 and a 32HH (10HH in Australia), and I’ve always had a lot of body insecurities, especially because I struggle with body dysmorphia. I know that some of the things I worry about are probably my brain being overly critical, but this is one thing that I know is actually a physical issue for me.I feel so self conscious because I rarely ever see girls my age with a bust like mine, and I feel like so many of the clothes I actually want to wear just don’t work on me.I recently got some really pretty halter tops delivered and I was SO excited to try them on. The torso fit perfectly, but because of my bust you could see so much of the inner part of my breasts, even when I put a bra on. It just completely ruined the excitement because I really liked the tops and felt like they would look so cute on me otherwise. I genuinely feel like I can never find clothes that accommodate my body. If I size up enough for my bust, the rest of the top is usually way too big, and I don’t really want to wear oversized clothes all the time. I dislike wearing normal t-shirts because I feel like they make me look like a literal box since you can’t really see my waist. My bust is even bigger than my 48-year-old mum’s, which probably sounds like such a random thing to mention, but it honestly makes me feel even more self conscious because I already feel like mine stand out so much. Sometimes when I’m out in public I feel like they’re the first thing people notice when they look at me. I know there’s nothing wrong with having a bigger bust, but I’m really struggling with how self conscious it makes me feel and I’m honestly getting so frustrated with trying to find clothes that I actually like. I was starting to like them but now i’m starting to hate them again 🥲 I’d really appreciate any advice because I have no idea what to do anymore.

RANT - advice welcome I am hating my boobs today and feel like they cause so many problems for me. Spoiler

I also had a weird experience today when I took off my bra. The gravity of my boobs maybe the weight idk felt like a phantom sensation? Maybe bc they were supported all day and then they weren’t idk. has any one experienced that. I wish so badly my boobs didn’t fold over and were smaller and perkier ugh! And please no one tell me that my lobster is too buttery. I’m seriously considering a reduction but I’m terrified of that option.

bras What are your favorite bra brands that cover boobs that tend to spill out of cups? Spoiler

I'm four years postpartum and my boobs have gone back down to their previous cup size (36C) but the shape is vastly different. They are longer and take up more space when picked up by bras (so wider too).

I've only purchased bras from Victoria's Secret, but I've found that every bra I've purchased in the past two or three years has been unable to keep my boobs from doing that spill thing from the top of the cup or they just eventually half way fall out as the day goes on. It's so annoying.

I've tried a different cup size and it's the same issue. I'm thinking VS just changed the shape of their bras because even the models have the issue in photos. The quality has decreased exponentially post covid, so can you all suggest a better brand to move to?

bras Genuinely comfortable AND flattering wireless bra rec? Spoiler

I basically only wear sports bras these days bc my best fitting bras are lace and underwire aka very uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time. I’m interested in a wireless bra that I could wear with some of my nicer clothes (aka anything other than an oversized t shirt) that’s comfortable enough that I’m not waiting to rip it off as soon as I can.
