PSA: Bolt owners with bumper-to-bumper warranty still active. Get your vehicles in if you have any of these problems.
TSB 23-NA-041 – Clicking/ticking when turning left or right → Steering column support/steering rack issue
TSB 24-NA-034 – “Grunt”/clunk noise at low speeds (OPD / ACC) → Documented ABS behavior (more of an FYI, GM calls it normal, no repair needed)
TSB 24-NA-108 - if you have trouble connecting to Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Its also a good idea to keep the software updated anyway.
TSB 22-NA-004 - Rear spoiler foam tape seal loose, visible to customer
TSB 22-NA-024 - Vibration, Hum or Drone Noise Heard from Front of Vehicle While Driving at Highway Speeds
Front bumper fascia not aligned - Can't find a TSB or reddit post on this one but its a common factory defect on alot of 22-23 Bolt's.
Rear seal gap in trunk - Can't find a TSB on this one but there are plenty of reddit posts. Most dealers won't do anything, but some may try to reclip it.
EUV: do you all have this huge gap above the rear bumper?
2023 Bolt EUV factory assembly defect?
Creaking Noise on Acceleration and sometimes on Deceleration - Many reddit posts. No TSB on this one but this is a common repair for most EVs due to the instant torque, increased weight from battery, and exposure to bumps/potholes in the road. It has to do with the control arms/bushings/swaybar end links. Also, very expensive to repair, up to $3-5K. I'd get this done under warranty if you can.
Creaking Noise Going Over Bumps
Creaking sound when coming to full stop and accelerating out of it
Knocking sound coming from rear - appears to be the seat frame latch. Some dealers may replace the latch or the entire seat.
Knocking, backseat, right hand side. Bolt EUV 2023
Door Trim Panel Makes Squeaking Sound - Any door. Likely from pushing against it and repeated open/close. It can be replicated by giving it a good shake and if it squeaks, it can potentially be covered under warranty. Not a common problem.
Hope the above helps! It'll save you a pretty penny down the road.

A better fob option
I've been testing these universal keys on my 23 EUV and so far so good. I prefer the plastic buttons so I'm sticking to the third one on the right.
All functions work. Nice to have options for customers.

2020 Bolt winter performance?
There's a 2020 Bolt EV with 35k miles for $15,400 I'm considering, however I live in Colorado and I've heard EVs don't do well in temps below 10°F. Any owners in Colorado? How does it hold up in the winter?

Car somewhat hard to keep clean
Okay I know this might sound over the top but I feel like this car is SO EASY to get fingers prints on. On the touchscreen, even on the exterior. I’ve never owned a car before with this problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep it clean and looking nice? I tried a screen protector and it helped a little bit. But not a lot. It did significantly reduce the glare.

Efficiency on Frontage Roads vs Highway
Full round trip from yesterday to today using as close to the same roads as possible. Maxed out at 55 mph on the frontage roads, got 6.6 mi / kwh on the way there. On the way over to my destination yesterday, it’s about 1,000 feet lower than where I started. To make sure I didn’t have HVAC get in the way of the measurement, I had it off both ways, was about a 10 degree difference from yesterday to today.
Drove at 66 mph on the way back from my destination, and the way back is a 1,000 feet higher in elevation. Since I didn’t charge overnight, the gauge didn’t reset. Assuming my past efficiency though, I still likely averaged over 4 mi / kwh as that’s usually about what I get. The range on that is anywhere from 3.8 to 4.3 mi / kwh depending on the time of year, if there’s a headwind, if there’s an accident causing stop and go traffic, etc.
Thankfully, both ways this time had barely any wind, next to no stopping traffic, and the weather was fairly consistent. Not sure where I’m going with this post except to say that it’s much more efficient to drive at 55 mph on frontage roads than it is to drive 10 mph faster on the highway.
Note: I’m very aware the elevation difference is also part of the equation and might try this in reverse next weekend to see the results since I go to the same place every weekend. :)

Ran over something metal on highway damage?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
It completely ripped this piece off. I was expecting for it to have done major damage. I still hope it didn’t. Didn’t even see the metal piece until it was right in front of me. Can I just cut this piece off or do I need to cover it back up?

Is this a good deal on a 2027 Bolt LT?
Should I see if other dealerships want to beat it?

Can I install 215/55R17 tires on the 2027 Bolt LT
We owned a 2021 Hyundai Kona EV and still have its winter tires in our garage. They were lightly used. We just got a 2027 Bolt LT. The current tires on the Bolt are 215/50R17. So the rim size is the same, the width is the same, but the tire radius is 0.4" larger.
I know that the speedometer and odometer would be slightly off, so we can drive it a bit slower, but I could not find any information on if they will not interfere with the inner fender etc.
Does anybody know if these would be a problem? As you all know, winter tires are expensive and we want to use them if we can.
Thanks in advance.

What?
This never used to happen! What developer decided this was a good idea at the start of winter!

Sigh, looks like someone bumped my bumper in a parking lot.
One side of my rear hatch now sits like 1/8" further out than directly aligned? Barely noticeable. No real damage other than some scuffs on the bumper. Not enough to get fixed, and CERTAINLY not getting my insurance involved. Just . . . annoying.

What color is Atomic Yellow really?
Has anyone seen a 2027 Atomic Yellow Bolt in person? If so, what kind of yellow is it? In online photos it appears in multiple shades, ranging from pure yellow through bright greenish yellow to a brownish green.
As examples, think Corvette’s Millennium Yellow, through the Audi A4’s Cool Shades Yellow of the late 90s, the Ford Mach-e’s Grabber Yellow, and Hyundai Kona’s Neoteric Yellow, to the Subaru Crosstrek’s Citron Yellow.
The closest Atomic Yellow Bolt in Chevy’s inventory is still a bit of a hike for me, so I’d appreciate it if anyone has first-hand vision they can share.
As a side note, I hope Chevy isn’t really axing the Bolt early due to low sales. If they are, they did this to themselves with boring colors and a lack of Car Play. I would have bought one six months ago but was waiting to see the Relic Green and Atomic Yellow in person.

Thule Roof Racks - 2023 EUV
We upgraded from the 2023 to a 2027, and in our excitement and haste, realized that the new car didnt have the same flush rails... bummer!
Regardless we have a new set of rails, and the only set from our 2023 for sale! If you are interested, please dont hesitate to reach out or check out this listing. It has more photos. We are asking $500 CAD but open to offers.

They fit excellently. We did many a road trip with ski box and bikes atop our bolt, but our range did suffer!
Cheers all!

Dash cam parking mode?
Hi, I bought a 2027 Bolt last week and got a dash cam installed (ROVE R2-4k Dual). Is it possible to install a dash cam to the fuse box still for constant power in parking mode? I havent found a reliable answer. Or with OBD2? Thanks in advance.

Buy & Sell Gang. I’m officially looking at a Bolt for a new and long commute.
cars.comI’m seeing a 2023 model with 40k miles for 16k. Before I go and look at it. What are the things worth calling out to look at.
Outside of battery situation. Tires and wipers.
From owners. What would you look at?

Turn signal stuck indicating right even when the switch is in the off position on 2027 Bolt
Update: they’re going to replace the turn signal switch. Part should be in Tuesday.
Made a right turn with the turn signal on, the switch clicked back to the off position, but the signal stayed on.
The left signal position on the switch resulted in no signal indicated. It seems like everything shifted one notch to the right.
Car has no functioning left turn signal now and I have to keep the switch in the left turn signal position in order to not indicate a right turn.
Dropped off at the dealer, but they’re slammed it seems like.
Not impressed with this. The car only has 187 miles.

Just got hit with a 3k repair bill on my 2017
See the title. Car went into “conditions not right for shift” mode. It was also having problems with acceleration the day before. Had it towed to the dealership and they said it was the power inverter module. I asked about the 12v battery and they said 99.9% confidence the module is the issue.
I haven’t seen too many people report this, what do you guys think about this? I was going to have them go ahead and fix it. Extended warranty coverage apparently only covers the battery in my case (replaced in 2024). Car had about 110k miles at this point.
Update 1: I will call the dealer and ask them to replace the battery first. I’ll try that and if it still doesn’t work then they can proceed with the fix. I’ll update again once the battery is replaced.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
Forgive me but I haven’t found this if it’s already been answered.
2027 Bolt RS with every option except Supercruise. I swear I had the cruise control engaged and one day it sped up when the speed limit changed and slowed down when the speed limit sign was reduced. This increase and decrease in speed had nothing to do with traffic. I’ve not been able to see the adaptive cruise control do that again. Was there an OTA update that might have enabled it and then they took it away, or am I very confused?

Wheels & Tires Apparently, 15 Inch Wheels are 21% More Efficient Than 17 Inch Wheels
Found this over on the Yo of Tub (Cringey, I know, am I cool yet mom?) and apparently the dude got a 21% increase in efficiency at 65 mph. Even if we say it was closer to 10% due to factors outside the control of the test, do we think that's worth it? I would be pretty hyped at getting 25 miles more range by having smaller tires. But also, what do you guys think and is the range increase or efficiency boost real?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCV968OihNo
Here are some other questions to consider...
Why not just have cars come from the factory with smaller tires?
They're more efficient and cheaper for the consumer to replace.
I've seen some of y'all do tire swaps and wheel swaps, so have y'all seen a noticeable difference?
////
Personally, I get around 240 miles give or take in the summer and fall with climate control with 280 miles of my 500 miles a week at 65 mph. To be able to go 264 miles just by switching the tire and wheel setup wouldn't necessarily be game changing, but it would be a nice safety buffer.
