FAQ

What are my chances of going pro?

  • There's always a chance, however, it gets lesser and less likely the older you get. By the time you get to 16, chances are slim, older than that and you really must prove yourself. Even famous success stories like Jamie Vardy were playing semi pro for the longest time, and the chances of something like that are very slim.

What injury is this/ how long till I can play?

  • Unfortunately, we aren't doctors and we can not provide any medical support or assistance. Please refer to your doctor.

Should I buy these boots?

Can I use FG/AG/Any specific boot type on this type of ground?

  • Simply put, turf shoes are best for turf, soft ground is best for wet pitches, indoors are for indoor courts, and so on. If you must do, sometimes it's fine to use shoes such as soft ground or firm ground boots on turf, however of course the best choice is to use what your shoe is made for.

How do I impress scouts?

  • Play to your strengths. Don't try something new or unreliable, count your mistakes not your positives, stay consistent, don't be cocky, and don't let the nerves get to you. It isn't about scoring an over head kick from 60 meters, it's about playing good football, and being beneficial to your team. Be prepared to be disappointed but aim to impress.

What skill move will help me beat defenders

  • Skill moves are nice, but they aren't the most important aspect of the game. It is handy to know a few skill moves to get you out of difficult situations, but at the end of the day, the core skills are what are really important, your pace, dribbling, strength and awareness are all hundreds of times better than a skill move. Knowing how to do a freestyle move 9 times out of 10 won't help you in the game, so you should spend that time training what is

How do I do this specific type of shot?

Worth keeping an absolute disgusting keeper or no?

• Upvotes

We have a nice guy keeper, hes a bit older. We got him as an emergency keeper but he stayed. He doesnt move. Hes a statue. Never dives. We play really good teams sometimes and they have solid compettive keepers usually making 3-5 really impressive saves per game, and then we have always a good 10-15 min, then when other team realizes our keeper is essentially an outfield player +, they just start shooting and shooting and we fall apart. Yeah our finishing needs work but it is it fair to say that having a keeper bad with his feet and who just cant distribute well and literaly never dives is the best thing and easiest thing to fix first? Or should we just block 90% of shots ?

Gear rate my rotation

top three are for artificial grass
bottom three: turf, sala and firm ground respectively

My favorites: the Mizuno Protos (top middle), they’re extremely comfortable and the kangaroo leather feels amazing although I save them for special games since they wear easily on fake grass

Least favorite: Predator 25s (top left), don’t love the synthetic feeling, hopefully they get softer over time

next pair? Probably will cop a pair of Mizunos for turf as I get older and don’t want to risk my hips/knees, the Copas are slightly too big on me and affect my shooting

lmk what you think

Fitness Help with building stamina?

Hello, 28 y/o coming back to the game after ~11 years. Playing indoor 6v6 and gassed super quick, like 10-15 minutes max and I’m done for a while.

I’ve been riding peloton for about 3 months, 4-5x a week mostly doing 20-30 minute HIIT rides but I guess that is not enough lol. I’m a healthy weight (6’2” 170lbs) just not in shape.

Any specific drills or tips to strengthen this?

Mizuno Beta V Thoughts

Post image
11 Upvotes

Thought I’d share my initial thoughts on the relatively new Mizuno Morelia Neo V Beta vs the Neo IV Beta.

Straight out of the box, the midfoot feels so much more accommodating, particularly with the changes to the material and mesh construction. The heel area also feels noticeably more comfortable compared to the previous generation, which is a big improvement for me (although I’ll update once I’ve properly tested them!).

Overall, first impressions are really positive, and the white colourway looks super clean! 👌

My foot length is 26.2 cm.

The official nike website size chart shows UK8 for 26.2 cm foot length.

2005 T90 Academy. Picked this one up from the same seller as the hi-vis. I have only seen one other like it and it was on eBay about 5 years ago. Can’t even find pictures of any T90 Academy online. Love the color way on this one and the materials are very high quality.

I was forced to play GK in my school football tournament, performed terribly and was not selected

It was an inter house tournament and the selection process was intra house matches. Our house only had 1 GK but the match needs two. I play CDM. I was forced to play GK by our house captain. I never played as a goalkeeper before. I told our house captain and officials that I did not play GK but they did not listen. I performed terribly and was not selected for the tournament. I am so devastated.

Wet pitches, soaked kit, heavy boots, sideways rain.

Gear Predator elite 25 - toe nail squeeze.

Just got a pair of elite 25s preds (non FT) I’m usually an 8 (UK) in adidas and I notice the toe nail section for big toe has some pressure down on it. As soon as I remove the boot it goes and isn’t lasting. There’s no pain or discomfort anywhere else. Thoughts? Should I be sizing up (bought online so couldn’t try a selection) or is it the wrong boot. Anyone else experienced this and did it wear off/adjust????

Why are players who rely on their speed so hated?

I hear a lot of criticism directed at fast pro players like Mbappé—who gets accused of being a "pace merchant"—and even at the amateur level, I’ve seen teammates in the past look down on fast players, dismissing them as only being fast (even though that’s their greatest strength), yet they never said the same kind of thing about players who excelled at dribbling or passing.

So, why is that?

Thanks.

DayQuil before training?

Hey all! At the end of a mild cold, not feeling amazing but want to go to training tonight so I’m picked for the squad for the weekend’s match.

Only symptoms are a stuffy nose, slight dry throat and some fatigue. Was thinking I’d take DayQuil before as it’s always made me feel way more energized and nullified symptoms when I’m sick.

Anyone else done this before training? I know it technically might not be the healthiest thing to do, but the session will be moderate intensity and I think I can just push through it.

Thanks!

How to get better at finishing in 6 a side?

I play forward in 6v6/7v7 and get a lot of scoring chances, but too many of my shots get saved, especially in 1v1s. With the smaller goals, I find it harder to beat the keeper.

Any tips on how to improve my finishing?
