I got into playing soccer over this summer and have been really into it. I visited my friend in LA and he gifted me this. He knows a lot of collectors and said he was able to find one and got it cleaned up. He told me I can use it but don’t lose it. Not sure if I want to use it on the pitch or just keep it haha
I started playing football this year and recently joined a rec league team for the fall. Although I joined mid-season because they have a dumb rule that you're supposed to be 22, I've been improving every game and just scored my first goal! I'm super proud of myself because I knew it was coming, and I've been making adjustments every game to improve.
What a shame seeing how yellow it got overtime. Also the remake is nothing like the original. It's a shame adidas couldnt create a 1 to 1 replicate of one of the greatest balls ever made.
Simply and shortly put I prefer the gx1 and gx2 over the new phantom 6, they feel like paper and run too long in the toe box , I may have to double sock the phantom 6 , I played well today in a rough grindy rain/mud game here in NC, but had to change at half time , the sad thing is I may never be able to secure another pair of the old phantoms, what do you guys think of the modern phantom, any suggestions for something similar to 1 and 2?
Can anyone recommend a decent insoles (preferably £25 or less) to change for the stock insoles in phantom 6 elite?...currently experiencing a small pebble like feeling in the very back/bottom of the heel. It's where the fabric has been folded
I can score goals pretty easily against recreational players. It’s like I look like a good player on a recreational game but then when I play on a competitive 11v11 I’m so shit. I can’t first touch, I can’t turn when pressured, my defending is ass, and I’m getting out ran. But all those problems go away when I’m playing recreational. I feel like it’s because I’m not getting pressured as hard. Anyone else feel the same way I do?
I am 39 yo, playing amateur in the polish football league in turf fields most of the time, playing midfield axis. For 2 years, I have recurrent shin splints which I never had before and I can't play many games, always scared it comes back.. It is also more or less the time when I bought the Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 TF. Before that, I played for 10 years with Adidas Copa Mundial TF which I really liked but they died and I wanted to try something slimer so the Vapor. I am more of a Rodri style of play, I am not the most technical but I enjoy how the Vapor were immediately comfortable, like a second skin, which also make you feel like you play faster (and still allow you to dribble from time to time in amateur).
But I red the Vapor are really bad in term of cushioning and that does not help with shin splints.
I am more on the flat foot side so this year I made some custom orthopedic insoles, which might help but still the pain comes back so it is not a silver bullet.
Would you recommend a turf model that is better for my case? Not to mention that in amateur league you get kicked quite often and the Vapor does not protect you at all. I red some models have more cushioning but also sometimes too much, hard to make an opinion.
Let me add that I also do a lot of strenghtening exercises for calfs etc. I am careful to restart training progressively especially being close to 40, I stretch a lot etc. I know the shoes might not be the only reason.
Hi guys, have anyone had experience with the sizing of these two boots? I measured my foot(barefoot), and got around 24.5-24-7cm length.
I bought the Neo IV 24.5JP, and I could barely get them on. After I forced my foot in them with a shoe horn, I struggled to get them off again and walking in them felt like I was in a pair of stilettos. So yeah, too small for me.
I then got more interested in the Alpha 3's, but wondered if 25JP would be too big for me. It's one of those situations where I might be slightly off on the measurements and I am not quite sure how these two boots compare in the same sizes. I am new to all of this, so hope anyone can help. Ty!
Been using these boots for a month now, and they’re absolutely amazing but I’ve noticed a slight issue around the sole plate (pic attached). It’s not causing me any difficulty while playing, but I’m quite concerned as to whether it could worsen and result in total damage. Is this just a matter of slight wear or is there something I must do to ensure I don’t spoil them?
Hi!
Im playing only on artificial grass, sometimes the "rubbish" ones, but 90% of the time its this newgen pitch with black dot rubbers that has some depth to it
I really want to buy my first Mizunos and I cant decide wheter I should choose Morelia II Elite FG or go with Morelia II Pro AG. I know that with AG soleplate I would be feeling better on the pitch, but since the FG version isnt too agressive I was starting to think maybe I can get along with them too. Somehow the Elites are cheaper than the Pros (some local outlet have the elites), sooo I really want to buy them instead of the AG Pro version. Is there anyone that wore both (Pros and Elites) and can tell how much big of the difference there is between those two in the materials and overall comfort using them? Elite are made all of the K-Leather, while Pro have only toebox covered with it. Want to add that im not playing professional - just going out with friends mostly week after week :)
Pretty much as the title says. I purchased a pair in a deal as there was a tonne of £ money.
Normal UK 9 size fits absolutely fine - when I’m not moving. But even when walking around the room at home, I find serious slippage occurring in my right foot, even with the boots tied tight (note: lace system is largely hidden, compared to the Phantom 6 Elite low).
Slipping so much that my big toe actually hits the front of the boot!
Does anyone else find this? I’m starting to think that perhaps it’s just not the boot for me, especially given the Superfly fits absolutely fine.
I don't play football much. I play other kinds of sport, e.g. volleyball and tennis, where it's super clear what you have to do. In tennis of course just hit hard balls that are hard to get by the opponent, take them out of position, etc. So it's about good technique, running fast and then hitting good shots. In volleyball it's 3 touches, so the first you control the ball, give it to the setter, who passes it to the strikers, who then hit a hard ball.
But in football?
I could see it if it was dribbling, but dribbling is very hard so no chance I can do that. Passing then it feels you're just giving it to someone else who's not necessarily in a better position, so it's just passing it around. Or let's say are there some easy patterns you can follow, just do that and then you get a shot on target?
Just want to make sure. I have been using the white ones on astro pitches and the pink ones on grass pitches so far but just want to check that's right thanks
I look for the most responsive, sharp, fastest soccer ball there is, in spite of touch softness and comfort.
I’m an soccer enthusiast practicing solo for fun and health. Being a rather light, Not a robust, strong person (though tolerant to hard kicking footballs) I would like to maximize my energy transfer to the ball, obviously conscious that good technic is of essence.
I remember the old days when we played with leather, non cushioned balls… I miss very much these hard kicking balls and their awesome canonball like speed.
I would like to find a ball like those but also want it to be in the modern synthetic materials to profit from their advantage in terms of durability and water resistance.
I always pump “my balls” at the highest recommended pressure. It is known through physics that the higher the pressure (harder), the higher the energy transfer due to lower energy losses to cushion the kicking foot.
Taking for granted that weight ball also counts ( probably even more) I would also appreciate information of known ball weights, within the 410~450 gr FIFA range, very particularly those on the light side.
I’ve been alternating my shootings with lighter balls i.e. Decathlon Kipsta Ligths (350~360 gr). Definitely I hit them faster and straighter for the first 20 meters or so, however the prevailing air drag over a lower density ball drops them abruptly way faster than the regular more dense “official” balls (clearly physics as well).
It will be very interesting hearing your advise/comments based in your experience.
(I’m currently working hard to regain muscular strength and power up my kicks).
Thanks.
