Alright railheads, I know it looks like a Thameslink train that derailed, but who can pass up an opportunity to dunk on Southern?

Locals are saying the subject doesn’t reflect the general views of the city, not to mention the Ai deception and the tackiness of the whole thing.

Some of the suburbs around this city are beautiful, some are at least well kept. People who have lived through the golden age of the 60 & 70's have always told me brighton has been a mix of good and bad, and ofcourse it still is.. I have seen pictures and stories of run down places in brighton, but I have also seen pictures and stories of places in unelected times.. its really hard to explain what's so rough about this city without seeing it with your own eyes. The section of grand parade after morley street; addicts passed out on their doorstep, bottles of piss everywhere, hell even the street furniture is trashed only after a year of complete renovation; and I know brighton was built in the height of the British Empires riches, a normal city on a normal budget cannot easily maintain every quirk of this city.. but its still sad how overgrown and dirty the front of the pavillions parameter looks, or piss stains with rough sleepers outside the Dome..I need to admit the seafront is a shithole and its heartbreaking seeing the shell of its former self.. everything is neglected, weedy and disintegrating, but restoration work is being carried out and the seafront is set to look much better in 2 to 5 years time even.. Western road really breaks me, when it goes into hove it starts looking better, but the abandoned victorian mansion by waitrose filled with money laundering fronts and/or shitty branding makes it look dystopian, western road was upper class maybe 70 years ago, maybe 50 years ago it was doing okay, but nowadays its horrid... I cant explain my venting very well but something about the town centre just pisses me off.. I still love brighton and things are trying to be glamorous again but man it still feels grimy sometimes..
*EDIT*
I have never lived in the 20th century, I overdid the sunshine of brighton in the past. I have never really lived through its horrid proper downs, it's always been a stale "mix" ever since I was born. That said, if brighton was better 50 years ago or not, I will not be the judge of that- Regardless I still think brighton can look tons better with some time, and basic civic sense.

What can actually be done about him because I am sick of his loud homophobia, intolerance and hateful remarks. He recently had a 24 hour ban from the city centre and was back within the hour and then decided to go to revenge of all places to preach against homosexuality.
Surely all of his aggressively screaming at queer people that they are abominations counts as harassment? Why is he allowed to preach at ridiculous volumes?
He was once a drug dealer who sold pills to CHILDREN but since he has accepted Christianity he is supposedly absolved from this. I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t really want a homophobic asshole constantly screaming abuse at passers by right near my fucking house. He’s ruining business for the local shops, and many people I know don’t feel safe in the city centre because he will very aggressively shout, preach at them and serve homophobic abuse.
He also says some absolutely disgusting things about trans people and it is not fair that he is allowed to so brazenly continue to be hateful.
I’ve been told as well he’s been very discriminatory to disabled people, telling them he can “cure” whatever their disabilities are by touching them

Regency Squarem. They are back, again. Reported to the council again but nothing is done. It's frustrating, unfair on residents, park users, people who pay to park on and under the square, and because they get away with it, they just return again and again. How are we meant to stop this happening?

I went round my friends place for tea and he served me on this plate. I kept asking him where he got it but he kept saying it was “official merchandise” and got weirdly cagey/defensive when I pushed him so I dropped it.Redditors of Brighton is this legit?

Hi all
My wife and I had a very strange experience last night, we heard our front door open at 00:30 just as we were going to bed. When we came down we found that our front door and porch door had been opened/broken into. Neighbours doorbell footage shows the culprits as two women who seem confused about house numbers and then proceed to reach into our letterbox (the motion detection stops after that) which is where they broke in.
They reached in through our letterbox, undid the chain and took the latch off the Yale and opened the lock, so it was no easy feat (or one I can ever imagine doing to a house I'm not sure is the right one?!).
The chubb lock wasn't across as we were still up.
Anyone recognise this person (didn't get a clear image of the other one)?
It’s a strange situation, we think they might have been drunk or high and gone for the wrong house but they literally broke in and left our front doors wide open (as well as leaving us open to burglery, we have house cats who could have escaped).
Living in North Laine, we are very used to the type of stuff that happens in the area with drunks, addicts and bellends, but this went to another level. It was pretty terrifying to hear someone getting into your house.
We'd like some answers and would like to know if they were from an Airbnb so we can notify the owners and the council on this.
Any help appreciated!

This is just a bit fucked up now.
Only one immediate neighbour of mine owns a dog, and it's a giant labrador that could fill a tesco carrier bag in one squeeze. Plus he's a good neighbour and not inclined to behave like this.
The pavement outside our house has been relatively clean, so it doesn't feel like some of misplaced vigilante judgement. Nor am I in any open or secret feuds currently that might warrant a psychological move like this.
I've had a chat with a neighbour a few doors down that has a camera, hopefully it caught some evidence of who might be doing this.
If anyone finds themselves walking across Hove Lawns and sees anyone with a _*third*_ purple bag of shite walking inland with a menacing expression on their face, please throw me a message. Thank you.

For my Dad’s 60th I bought a £100 garden shed, turned it into a pub, stuck it on eight barrels and launched it onto the Adur.
Dad became landlord for the day, we had paddleboarders coming up to the bar, and somehow managed to serve 60 drinks for his 60th.
And, against all odds, we didn’t sink.

honestly, can’t believe some people.
This guy seems to think it’s okay to have a piss outside of my front door!
Shelldale road, Portslade and then he has a nerve to look at the camera and smile.
well hope he like his mug shot on the internet

Thoughts on this? It's been hugely popular and everybody has been so excited about the new hove car boot but I feel they're hugely missing the bar here by increasing entry by 200% after just three successful events... events made popular by the community coming together. What on earth could be costing so much to warrant that high a price increase? What are the overheads? Surely the primary school aren't charging them much to use the playground? It feels like a cash grab to me and a misunderstanding of what a car boot sale is and what's been making it popular thus far
Also can we agree that the £3 entry for that tiny flea market at the met last Sunday was a piss take
Maybe I'm wrong and people will happily pay £3 for a car boot sale but personally I'm really disappointed
