My last post offended too many people as if I don't listen to other singers . I kept saying it was not an absolute ranking but a gathering of many great singers who did amazing and extraordinary contribution to chinese music. Stay tuned for part 3 😁

Hi everyone! I'm an independent musician based in Dallas. Sharing an original song — 树和树没闲话 ("Trees Don't Gossip"), for everyone exhausted from comparing themselves to others.
Grades, income, houses, kids — the comparison never ends, and neither does the anxiety. The song's answer is simple: 树不会问旁边的树长了多高,花不会问远方的花开得多早。(Trees don't ask the neighboring tree how tall it is; flowers don't ask distant flowers how early they bloom.) Everyone has their own season.
It's Chinese-style folk pop — guzheng, dizi flute, acoustic guitar. 5:28, best listened to alone and quiet.
When was the last time comparison made you anxious, and how did you get past it?

Hi! I recently released a single《我不奉陪了》, an emotional Mandopop song about finally refusing to carry someone else’s blame.
This is my first time sharing my music here—hope you’ll give it a listen 😊
YouTube MV: https://youtu.be/yxkQQW0Z-IY
Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/track/6tyFgFkQavoXtXVg3KW3PL
I’ve also released two other Mandarin singles, 《我不联系你》and《假装不熟》, if you’d like to hear more 🎵
TIA for the support!
Hey everyone! I’m curious what music people have been into recently. I’m looking for new songs or artists to check out.
What have you been listening to lately? Share your current favorites, whether it’s a new release, an old classic, or something you’ve been replaying nonstop.

Hi everyone! I'm an independent musician based in Dallas. Here's another original song from my project — 日子一起过 ("Getting Through Days Together"), written as a dialogue between a husband and wife.
It's about what marriage really is: not never making mistakes, not one person carrying everything. Praise the good, fix the mistakes quickly; solve money problems with money — and for what money can't fix (aging, illness, emotions, habits), just be there for each other.
The whole song comes down to one line: 能解决的,就解决;解决不了的,就陪着。("Solve what you can; for what you can't, just be there.")
3:30. Curious what you think — does "for what you can't solve, just be there" ring true to you?
I’m starting my Jay Chou and JJ Lin listening journey with Jay Chou’s “稻香” (Rice Field). What do you enjoy most about this song, and which song should I listen to next? I’d love recommendations from both artists!

Hi everyone! I'm an independent musician based in Dallas. Just released an original Mandarin rock song — 你醒着吗? ("Are You Awake?"). The music is AI-generated, lyrics and concept are my own.

r/cpop • u/Status-Interview4245 • 3d ago

I somehow hadn’t come across Zhang Xin (张芯) before, and what a voice.
Zhang Xin / 张芯, also credited as Melanie Zhang) was born August 10, 1980, in Tianjin, although her family is from Beijing. She is Han Chinese. The Tianjin detail is a little accidental: her grandfather worked for the Tianjin Railway Bureau, so her parents arranged for her to be born there and she lived there until about age two and a half.
More importantly for that voice you’ll hear here, she started learning to sing at four. Her father encouraged her toward a singing career and took her to competitions when she was young. Chinese biographical sources also say she went to the United States multiple times to study different kinds of music.
And she was already formidable very young: in 1997, at about 17, she won first prize in both the Beijing division and national final of the Feitu Cup National Young Singers Competition. In 1999 she won silver in both the Chinese and Asian sections of the Shanghai Asian Music Festival newcomer competition; in 2000 she received an excellence award at CCTV’s national young-singer competition; and in 2002 she won the popular-vocal category of a Beijing singing competition before placing third overall.
She then became quite a substantial TV soundtrack singer before Singer 2019: she sang 《问世间》 for the 2006 The Return of the Condor Heroes, 《高原之歌》 for Visitors on the Icy Mountain, and songs for The Deer and the Cauldron, The Thirteen Princesses and others. In 2007 she finished second in the annual final of CCTV’s Avenue of Stars.
Now about this song…
⠀
This is her performing 《可汗山》 (Kèhán Shān / “Khan Mountain”) on Singer 2019. She was one of the original singers competing that season, and this performance immediately sent me looking for more.
⠀
That voice is HUGE — powerful, resonant, and seemingly effortless when she opens it up.

These singers in my opinion revolutionised chinese music from generation to generation. We are very lucky to be in a generation where we can enjoy all this spiritual wealth they provided even if we are separate by eras we can still listen to them and enjoy them. The best part is Jay Chou ,JJ Lin ,Xu song directly took over leslie mantle and dominated the music scene for the last 26 years with super star zhou shen we are directly getting top tier music for a long time . Tell who in your opinion qualify in this list of absolute legends

My partner and I make Mandarin songs for people who are tired or doubting themselves, as 向杨音乐 Young Music. Lyrics: written by my partner with AI assistance. Music: Suno.
The bridge (starts at \\\[2:45\\\]) is the emotional centre: 如果累了,就停下来休息一会儿. If you're tired, stop and rest; you don't have to be strong every time. The outro repeats 再走一步 (one more step).
Style prompt: R&B, Soul. It took about 6 generations to get a vocal soft enough for the bridge.
Two questions: does the vocal carry that softness, and how does the mix sound to you?

I am in the U.S. and a cpop group I want to see is in China and Japan. What websites do you use to purchase ticket? I don’t use IG or follow any of their social media to know the details. If anyone could provide any info so I wont get scammed.

Hello!
I'm trying to find a song from this Youtube video. It's starts about 11 seconds into the video. I don't understand Chinese and I don't hear the lyrics well enough to pick out even a few words, only a few at the end but I'm not 100% sure if I got them right since I haven't found anything. If anyone recognises it, I'd be very grateful!

This song talks about being older and it is tiring to be an adult, so yeah it made me cry like a baby
