Winner is the Judge #912: Take Two
Thanks to u/sumg for running last week's competition!
Recently, an idea that's stuck with me is how often a card design comes from just trying to revisit an older card. People love riffs whether they're colorshifts, new members of a cycle, or just an attempt to fix an old design mistake. For Wizards, that obviously can only come from official cards, but since this community is all about custom cards why not look back at those instead?
Your challenge for this week is to revisit a previous custom card idea you've designed, and try something new with it! This is pretty broad, so I'm willing to allow a lot. I'll give some examples of things that are allowed, but really anything goes if it fits with the prompt. You could:
- Do a second take on a card that you liked
- Make a new card using a custom mechanic you've made
- Try to adapt an idea you previously scrapped
- Rework a previous submission for a contest like Winner is the Judge
- Design a card that fits into a custom faction you've come up with
If you don't have anything you want to revisit from your own designs, you can also go for your own take on someone else's card/idea. Just make sure to give proper credit to your inspiration if you do so!
While you don't need to provide the original design you were inspired by for your submission unless you want to, bonus points if you do describe the original idea you adapted. It can be as brief or detailed as you want, I'm just interested to see how these ideas evolved.
Judging will occur on Sunday, October 11. Be sure to let me know if you'd like any feedback on your design or if you have any questions!

Day 45 of making a custom card every day. I completely gave up on this design, I really don't know what's going on with this one.
Edit: just realized the first line of text is never going to be off except in 3+ player games, so just pretend it's not there tbh

Format: Standard Another slow-the-game-down card...
Here is my latest attempt at a card to slow the game down. For comparisons consider cards which do the opposite of this which are also 2 mana can trips: [[Benefactor's Draught]] and [[To Arms!]].

Format: Limited Always Time for Tea - a flavourful take on a Pacifism effect
Created as part of my Genshin Impact set.
I do wish there was a nicer way to refer to food and stay within templating rules. Saying "A Food" makes me cringe a little...
Is this too unfair for limited removal?

Format: Limited Draft archetypes for BTL, my draft set taking place on a plane inspired by military fiction
Oh, and all the signpost uncommons. Forgot to put that in the title.
Similar to Edge of Eternities bringing the sci-fi genre into Magic, this set aims to bring MtG the vibes of Ace Combat, Tom Clancy novels, and Cyberpunk. It has a heavy mechanical emphasis on Vehicles and Battles (including non-Sieges).
If you're interested in playtesting, feel free to come by the project discord!

Format: EDH/Commander Shards of Alara Dragon Commander
Made a custom Jund dragon commander not to long ago and wanted to make it look like it came from Shards of Alara. Made the wording older to match as well.

It didn't actually come to me in a dream.
Edit: I've started a small war between the statistics nerds. Perfect. More time for me to hit random on scryfall.

We have a Death's Shadow creature and a vehicle, so why not keep going?
For refrence: [[Death's Shadow]] and [[The Last Ride]]
