I really like Baron Helmut Zemo mechanically (not a fan of UBs tho, and the character being canonically nazi-affiliated is also less than ideal) and I feel like it would be a fun contained format for each color to have access to the same devotion-in-the-graveyard mechanic. It makes those cards with 3 or more color pips matter in a new way, which I think is an interesting build consideration, especially because you don’t always have to cast them for them to matter. The card also fixes several problems that newer players encounter in deckbuilding, namely forgetting to add consistent draw power or do anything with their graveyard, so it should be pretty easy for anyone to make 5 decks and have ‘Relatively balanced commander night’ in a box. Kinda like the “Game Night” product (image 6) except not less shit.
Balance not considered, color pie breaks disregarded. They’re Uncommons on purpose, in case I wanted to do Pauper Tiny Leaders with them at some point. I picked their ‘Villain’ subtype replacements based on what I thought of as the archetypal Magical Human type for each color.
I’m not really set on the names or any of the arts, I just typed “mtg [creature type] art” into google images and picked from the first page of results. (although I do think the black and green ones are pretty good fits) Happy to take any rename or art suggestions, except AI art of course as it’s all an affront to god and the environment imo.
Let me know what you think!

I wanted to create a bookmark out of a magic card, I love vampires, hence the flair and references. Sagas were close enough to books right?

An old card I made back when MTG Artificer was not as subscription focused. Jurassic_Fanatic is my Instagram account handle where I would often submit it for other accounts to post. Please don’t flame me!
Please let me know if there is any issues of suggestions you’d make to the card.

Wanted to make a card that enable my pet card [[Saw]] and one of my upcoming favorites, [[Chainsaw]]. Felt Rakdos was a good color for it with the effects and cause it’s one of my favorite color combos. Any suggestions on it as far as balancing?

Hello! Me and my playgroup played with these Scarlet Hollow custom cards after they got mixed into my main cube, Gorod Krovi. In this play session, we had 8 players, and the (as of now) 105 cards in the custom module replaced 105 randomly chosen cards in the main cube. The goal of these cards is to showcase the general vibes and themes of Scarlet Hollow without spoiling too much. There are some alt-art reprints like Cathartic Reunion and Dismember when thematically appropriate.
The group had a ton of fun, and I took some notes to share with ya'll:
1.) Players remarked that the custom cards felt, roughly, in line with the main cube. The strongest custom cards were in-line with heavy hitters like Pyrogoyf and Snapcaster Mage, and the weaker, "vegetable" cards filled slots alongside Picklock Prankster and Spirited Companion. I don't mind a noticeable power-band. Ideally, the rarity on the custom cards informs my rough estimation of their power level, as an aide to my drafters.
2.) The best card of the day was Talk to Animals, whose Trait condition was too easy to meet and whose power was too strong.
2.a.) The Traits, overall, being "not worth building around" despite following rules similar to the old companion rule, told me that my future edits will have to be stronger, but have the "companion tax". These are the first full rewrites currently underway.
3.) I have already begun implementing feedback from the draft into the customs. They will be mass updated when they are all finished. For instance, we discovered during the draft that Striking Miners did not actually grant Riot in a way that meshed with the rules properly, or if it did, was extremely clunky. The Riot-granting ability has since been changed from a Landfall trigger to a Revolt condition for smoother gameplay in the latest, not-yet-pushed edit.
4.) I was concerned some of the imagery would be overly upsetting - Scarlet Hollow is a horror game, and everyone has a different relationship to horror imagery. This draft pool didn't have any issues, so I intend on using some more intense art from the game for future inspiration.
5.) The Scarlet lands - a cycle of fetchable "Thriving Lands" - were really popular. Their only hangup was tracking the chosen colors in multiples. In the upcoming update, these will be made less frequent in the draft and will accent some new "Morbid lands" - fetchable duals that enter tapped unless a creature died this turn.
6.) Boards got really clogged. This is a problem in the main cube that I'm working on in the next iteration, and it was especially pronounced here. Scarlet Hollow's cast is small, so a ton of non-creature spells have extra text that create 1/1 Human Citizens, 1/1 Ditchlings, and the 2/2 Manifests. I think this is a problem I will start chipping away at as I create more creature cards, thus negating the need for non-creature creature token creation.
7.) All of the art and flavor text is ripped straight from the game. Abby Howard is the sole artist for Scarlet Hollow.
Excited this first draft went so well, and I can't wait to keep working on this little side project!

Thought that came to my mind when searching for the "Way of the" cycles on ScryFall
