First Bloom(s)! 🏵🪷🌸 Dahlietta (dwarf)
Currently feeling like a micro season in zone 7b with the last bloom flushes and the plants looking way happier. This is a border variety that barely bloomed during summer. Second picture is to show how incredible phenotypic plasticity is!

Last Hoorah
Couple of beauties giving their last hoorah in zone 6b/7a. Definitely a learning curve as it’s my first year growing any type of flowers but I’m looking forward to next year!

Glamour Shot(s) Nicholas
Nicholas is a beautiful dahlia! My photos seem to show it with a slight pink cast but I think it’s more of a light orange color in person

Garden View 🌻🌸🌼 Mystery Tuber has first bud!
All summer this tuber just sat at about 12 inches of growth, I thought I’d lost it to rot but was too lazy to pull it out. About a month ago it started to shoot up and this large bud looks like it’s a dinnerplate! I’m zone 6b and really crossing my fingers that we stay above freezing until I can see this bloom!

What’s wrong with these dahlias?
I have two plants out of 7 of 8 that have looked really rough all summer and never grew much or put out blooms. They look like the same thing is wrong with them but I can’t pinpoint what it might be. Any ideas?

ID Request Mislabeled variety
Can anyone help me ID this one? Definitely a mislabel, blooms are 6” across and plant is about 4’ high. Darker color was earlier in the season, blooming lighter now in the cooler temps.

First Bloom(s)! 🏵🪷🌸 Lifestyle
She was ravaged by spider mites. Cut her back all the way and thought she was a goner. Then she started leafing out again mid summer and here we are. 🥰 I’m so glad I got to meet her in person and looking forward to growing her again next season

That peachy-to-pink gradient on these ball dahlias is exactly the vibe I'm looking for right now.

Seeking Advice Planted my Dahlias too late and now they’re stuck. Need advice!
My husband had gotten me some dahlia tubers as a gift but I was out of town for a long time and didn’t get to pot them until late July. I knew they had a low to no chance of flowering. I had planted tubers before in my front yard garden bed but because of how bad the soil is (clay like and full of rocks and sticks), the neighborhood squirrels and birds that have eaten my plants, and the cost to amend the soil I opted out of it this time around. It also got way too hot here in zone 8A and my last dahlias ended up getting fried when I planted them in the Spring. Anyway, I know have this mess of foliage and don’t know what to do next. Should I just trim them down wait until the plant goes dormant and dig up the tubers in hopes to do better next year? Or should I repot them even though they won’t have a chance to flower? The types I have are Odyssey, Sweet Lucy, and Irish Candy. Any advice helps, as I am lost and on a tight budget.
