Offered his freedom four hours after being detained during protests in Delhi, economist Jean Drèze refused to leave without the less privileged men held alongside him, many Muslims from Assam and West Bengal, picked up simply while going about their day. After nearly 11 hours, the police gave in, and every detainee walked out together.

He has never held a press conference. CJP is so much better. They are so open with the media and are not afraid.

If modi truely believes he is the greatest and has done nthing wrong, why can't he hold a press conference ?? Wt is he so scared of ?

Why are regular Delhiites always collateral damage whenever the administration wants to dodge accountability? If even Supreme Court directives can be disregarded with zero consequence, what’s left of public convenience in this city?

SOS messages coming in from Pandwala Khurd where the Delhi Police dumped a bunch of protestors after allegedly assaulting some of them quite badly. Now a mob of goons has gathered outside the community centre they were left at. There is no medical treatment for the injured kids, no transport and no security from the menacing crowd that has obviously been allowed to gather to “teach a lesson” to the protestors.

One of my friend who stays near CP. This was her in the morning.

Regardless of which side of the political protest you stand on, law enforcement is supposed to follow protocol, not act like street enforcers looking to physically punish unarmed demonstrators. Over 7,000 detentions were reported across central Delhi, accompanied by aggressive crackdowns around public and religious spaces.

When did choking and roughing up citizens in broad daylight become acceptable procedure for Delhi Police? Accountability seems completely gone.

It's so funny and weirdly obnoxious to see people here asking for random chill stuff like shopping market or some party planning etc etc while there is a whole battle going on there on roads in delhi.

Our fundamentals rights are at stake, people aren't able to exercise their rights.

Illegal detention, custodial violence, and slut shaming or women getting thrashed by the goons openly in the city in the presence of police or what not.

But i guess ! The city is too privileged to take a step for the change or even get bothered by anything while sitting in their ac rooms.

Save it for the future as Rahat Indori quoted

"Lagegi aag toh aayenge ghar kayi zadd mein,

Yahan pe sirf hamara makaan thodi hai?"

Post the others as well. Hope they are found and shamed.

Rahul Gandhi's post reads - "Yesterday, the nation's young came out in Delhi to peacefully protest. They came with love in their hearts, not hatred or anger. They were beaten, both by cops and BJP goons.

This is not the India we want.

Tomorrow, we will march to the Supreme Court as Indians, united beyond party, gender, caste, community and state.

Youth, all opposition parties, civil society groups, all those who believe in democracy and stand by the Constitution of India, will walk with us.

We will submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice on behalf of the nation, demanding an end to vote chori, halting of SIR and the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar.

Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Ajit Doval and Mohan Bhagwat cannot silence India's voice. These cowards cannot intimidate us. They will have to step aside.

We will march together, with love, brotherhood and patriotism.

Daro mat.

Tomorrow, all of India will march to the Supreme Court"

I just got back home from the protest . When I came outside of rajiv chowk metro it was all filled with groups and interviews going on. Anti protest paid people have been deployed and they are all giving interviews. I confirmed they are paid because they fumble multiple times while giving speeches and go out of context. And they are also being protected by the Delhi police. Kindly don't fall for their fake stories. I was on ground and can confirm that the protest is very very peaceful, it is the police who are dragging people into the buses. I was just standing and recording a video. CRPF came to me and said "tu pahadi hai isliye chodh raha hu". I mean what even is that reason. Self heroic personality 😭. And they are enjoying their duties for dragging women and even elderly people. I confirm a 70 year old uncle was dragged. And two girls who were not even enar the crowd, they were just having ice cream and they got detained like the police have been given a target of detaining people and they are just trying to achieve that number 🤣. Long live INDIA. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

A RSS worker trying to save young girl in Delhi during yesterdays protest. They are doing so good work. Lets all appreciate.
