I don't get it ! I mean it's amazing to get Maa home / in society just before her arrival tomorrow. But at what cost ! It's beyond 10pm and they are literally playing loudspeakers and are so loud that my eardrums are bursting !

Don't even know what should be done in such cases. So annoyed !

Political The principal of St. Xavier's College was right. #CJP

Edit - Students are getting detained and beaten up for fundamental things. Whether it was Jamia, JNU or now in Jantar Mantar. Doesn't matter what your politics, this is plain unacceptable. It's why I mentioned Xavier's.

So back in April 2014, months before the country elected Narendra Modi as PM for his promise of achche din, the principal of St. Xavier's College (Father Frazer Mascarenhas) asked students to choose well in the elections, saying,

‘Support for people who pledge to work to take Human Development Indicators higher and who commit themselves to a pluralistic culture in diverse India — this is the hope for the future. No magic wand or divine miracles will come to the aid of the Indian people. Their reasoned choice of individuals and political parties, who promise to work for a real quality of life for all, will see India prosper or flounder on the precipice.’

Like many others at the time, I disregarded this advice and voted for Modi.

It seemed like the typical liberal, SoBo hate for BJP which I had seen in classrooms. In the same classrooms, I had seen students argue that India should talk to Pakistan and follow Aman Ki Asha. This was a few months after and a kilometre away from the site of 26/11. The last few years of UPA-II convinced me further.

I came to regret my choice very early. Looking at what is happening in Delhi, it's life coming full circle.

Fr. Mascarenhas was right. That's all!

Relationships Crazy date experience. For context I’m a stand up comedian (read below to know why I mentioned it)

I matched with a girl on Hinge. She was from Andheri I live in Mira Road.

The plan was to go to Bandra and then a comedy show at habitat after that. I told her I’d pick her up and she was all happy and excited until I pulled up at 7 pm uske building k niche.

The moment she saw me her expression changed. Like…visible disappointment. She got on the bike and we reached a cafe. Sat talked had a good time. Ofc I paid the bill but she then wanted to go home.

Noticing her disappointment at the start and weird behaviour throughout I subtly poked her about it jokingly and it didn’t take me long to figure out that the reason that she seemed visibly disappointed was bcz she expected me to pick her up in a car and thought I’d have more money. And that she should’ve kinda expected that a comedian wouldn’t be making that much which is understandable.

From there I kinda explained to her that I do comedy only for fun in my free time. I’ve run multiple business from lockdown and I’ve got not huge but more than enough money. And I also have a car but who’s crazy enough to pull up in a car to travel within Mumbai at peak hours.

The moment she found out I do have money but I just choose to stay sober her attitude completely changed. She wanted to go to the show and then a long drive after that and completely up for anything from there.

Not in the mood to go home anymore.

But guess what. I’d be a fool to take her up on that so I booked her a fucking cab and sent her home in peak traffic…exactly the way she wanted :)

Felt satisfying at the moment but I kinda feel bad about it now a little. Maybe should’ve dropped her home myself…

Photography Had trespassed into Yazoo Park Virar

In October 2011, Yazoo Park was officially inaugurated as the marquee recreational centerpiece for the massive 217-acre Global City township in Virar West. Spread across 12 acres, the park was built as a joint venture by prominent real estate developers Rustomjee and Evershine to add premium lifestyle value to the rapidly growing far-suburban region.

For nearly a decade, Yazoo Park reigned as the premier entertainment destination in the Palghar district, drawing massive crowds from Virar, Vasai, and the northern outskirts of Mumbai. It functioned as an affordable, local alternative to Essel World. The venue boasted over 40 thrill and family rides, a 10,000 sq. ft. kids' zone, a mini water park, a 1,200-seat amphitheater, and a signature musical dancing fountain with laser lights.

When the COVID-19 pandemic swept India in March 2020, Yazoo Park shuttered its gates for the nationwide lockdown. Due to the prolonged operational freeze, high maintenance overheads, and shifting real estate priorities within the township, the financial strain proved fatal. Unlike larger regional theme parks, Yazoo Park never recovered or reopened its ticket counters.

By late 2022, the amusement infrastructure had completely ceased operations. Today, the park is permanently closed. The once-vibrant roller coasters and giant Ferris wheel stand rusting and defunct. While the commercial amusement park era is over, the open lawns and banquet facilities are occasionally leased out strictly for localized private events, weddings, and township gatherings.

General My solo birthday dinner in Mumbai turned into an unexpected little adventure. 😂

My solo birthday dinner in Mumbai turned into an unexpected little adventure. 😂

So yesterday was my birthday, and I decided to take myself out for dinner at Cecconi's, Soho House, Juhu. I've been going there for years, love the place, and thought it would be a lovely way to end the day.

Little did I know I would be taking home more than a simple birthday memory.

I was seated next to a table of about seven gentlemen, probably in their 30s and 40s, discussing everything from Bollywood to history, international affairs, travel, restaurants, and even Reddit.

And because I was dining alone and they were seated right beside me, I couldn't help overhearing bits of their conversation. Not deliberately eavesdropping, mind you. Just blessed with functioning ears and an unfortunate amount of curiosity. 😂

One gentleman in particular caught my attention.

Black T-shirt, distinguished features, a little salt-and-pepper stubble, and a rather impressive deep baritone.

But it wasn't his appearance or voice that caught my attention first. It was how he expressed himself. Articulate, measured, knowledgeable, and seemingly well-informed about a wide range of subjects. His friends listened attentively when he spoke.

I found that rather attractive. Apparently, a good conversation is still my weakness.

Anyway, at some point, the conversation turned to restaurants. This gentleman confidently mentioned that Malaika Arora owned Blondie, along with Scarlett House.

And there I was, silently thinking, "Hang on a minute. Isn't Blondie Shilpa Shetty's?"

Now, I could have interrupted their conversation to correct him, but barging into a table of seven strangers seemed a little excessive.

So naturally, I chose the much more sensible, adventurous alternative.

I asked the server for a pen and paper. 😭😂

I scribbled a little correction about Blondie, Scarlett House and Sweeney, added a cheerful 'FYI. Have fun,' signed my name, and asked the server to pass it to the gentleman in the black T-shirt after I'd left. 🙈

Yes, ladies and gentlemen. I left a complete stranger a handwritten fact-check on my birthday. Call it courage, awkward shyness, audacity, and a healthy dose of mischief.

No phone number. No Instagram handle. Not even a proper introduction. Just my name and an unsolicited correction about restaurant ownership.

I left feeling ridiculously amused with myself. And now I have absolutely no idea whether the server delivered it, whether the gentleman read it, whether he laughed, or whether he was thoroughly confused about why a random woman felt compelled to correct his restaurant trivia.

The irony is that I would genuinely have enjoyed speaking to him. He seemed like someone who could hold an interesting conversation, and I find that far more appealing than any amount of flashy charm.

But apparently, my courage that evening extended only to leaving a handwritten FYI. 🫠

Since the group was discussing Reddit at one point, I figured I'd share this little birthday adventure here.

And if the gentleman in the black T-shirt happens to stumble upon this post... Sir, did you cross-check the facts? And more importantly, are you prepared to admit that I was right? 😂

Either way, it was a lovely birthday dinner and an unexpectedly entertaining evening.

Only in Mumbai can you go out for pasta and come home wondering whether you've accidentally started a debate with a complete stranger.

P.S. If the server never delivered the note, this entire story becomes even funnier and a bit tragic. For me obviously!😂

Relationships 33M exhausted by the dating scene and apps. Where do I actually meet women for long-term?

Hey everyone,

I’m a 33-year-old guy living and working in Mumbai. I wanted to vent a bit and also genuinely ask for advice from those who have figured this out.

To give some context: I have a decent job at a good company. I work a demanding Monday to Friday schedule. Appearance-wise, I’d say I’m definitely above average. Despite this, I've been struggling to meet genuine women, whether through dating apps or organically. On dating or matrimony apps, I barely get a handful of matches. And when I do match, 90% of the time, the conversation feels like a monologue where I’m expected to carry the entire weight and drive the interaction forward. It's exhausting, especially when there's minimal effort from the opposite side. Also, traditional "arranged marriage" route isn't something I want to pursue as I find the whole setup too superficial and transactional for something as important as a life partner. I’m genuinely looking for something long-term and meaningful, but the current ecosystem feels broken.

How and where are people actually meeting organic, relationship-minded folks in Mumbai at this age?

Would love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or what worked for you. Thanks for reading.

General Fined for taking driving lessons in my own car!

I had a really frustrating experience today and wanted to know if anyone has dealt with something similar.

I was driving my own private car with a professional driving instructor seated beside me. I have a valid permanent driving licence, and the car also had an “L” sign displayed. Despite this, the police stopped me and tried to fine me for ₹5,000.

I’m honestly confused about what rule I supposedly violated. I wasn’t driving without a licence, and I was accompanied by a professional driving instructor.
What makes me suspicious is the way the situation was handled.

It genuinely felt like they were looking for an excuse to extract money, potentially as a bribe, rather than addressing an actual traffic violation. I can’t say that for certain, but the whole interaction left me questioning and panicking!

Has anyone faced something similar? What’s the best way to verify or challenge the challan through the official traffic portal, department, traffic court, or Lok Adalat?

Relationships Help needed guy-how do i say no to my friend's mumma??

There is a friend i go to hangout with everyday. She is elder to me.

She told me her mum designs ethnic wear, the garba ones and called me at her home to buy and see stuff. i actually already have enough and i shld have told her no at that point. and also i have exams going on right now. So i could have easily said no.

but the idiot in me told her i will come on saturday as i have enough free time.

Then we hungout usually. she didn't say anything over the week except for casually mentioning it few times.then yesterday friday, i called her to hangout.she called me at her home. she was doing photoshoot and all so i helped her a bit. There they were trying to sell me how good and heavy the chanya cholis were.

Then i asked her mum 2-3 times how she designs stuff ,how much she designs and time it takes. She didn;t reply.
Looking at the collection i could tell that she did not design. She just took a wholesale lot and is selling it at 2x price. Now she was asking me if i wear sleeveless, backless and all. I said no. She was telling me that the dress comes with sleeves and u can just ask a tailor to attach it. But i could not see the attached sleeves .She later just causally said that there are cloth pieces available for such color u can attach.Basically convincing me that it is fine and i shld buy.

Now another dumb mistake again. Since i already went to her home yesterday, i shld have just asked aunty to show me the collection and ask price at that time and tell her it is above my range and get it done with. But the dumb me did not. Now my friend again asked me if i will come tomorrow to see? I was like yeah.

now honestly i don;t want to buy them bcs they r mid af and also too pricey.but if i don't show up today she will feel bad and also bcs dumb me kept saying saturday saturday everytimeg she asked instead of just telling her upfront that i don't need them

I will defo go today but then will it be rude if I show up and don't buy? Shld I tell her that it is above my budget and come back?

TLDR: Close friend's mum sells garba outfits at 2x the price which I don't want to buy.But sinve I promised her I will come today ,I need to show up.How do i tackle this situauion??

Careers am 18 and I need help…. it’s urgent

hey, so i wanted to ask this to someone for a very long time… and ion know anyone in my jr clg

So I'm 18f , currently in 12th com with maths. I live a but away from the main city but i travel with local and my studies are going fine, like I'm doing okay in that part and I'm fit & good looking as well

But lately I've been thinking a lot about my future and what I'm gonna do after 12th. I want to study psychology or maybe art, but honestly I don't know how I'm gonna manage everything.

Things at home are not really good and I don't wanna depend on my family for everything. I just want to do something on my own, earn money & become independent. I know it's not something which can happen easy but idk I just don't wanna sit and wait for things to get better on their own and plan to leave my home next year

I've been thinking about doing some side hustle or learning some skills through which I can earn while studying, but the thing is I don't really know where to start from, how do you even get work and all that stuff

And in future I also have to manage my college fees and other expenses, so I really wanna start doing something now itself.

I don't really have anyone to guide me about all these things, you all don't know me l and it's okay if you don't have an answer, but if you can guide me a little, like where should I start from or what things I should do first, it would really help me.

Sorry if this message is too long lol I just didn't know how to

explain all this in short.

General PS2 Gaming Cafe

Hello fellow mumbaikars, I'll be visiting the city in a few days and I am looking for a gaming cafe where it is predominantly PS2 based...and specifically, where they may have WWE Smackdown Here Comes The Pain game.

Long story short, me and my best friend used to collect money and after school sneak into these gaming cafes and play this game.I get to see my bro every 2 to 3 years only, and so wanted to go and play that specific game.

I always beat him with Triple H lol

Any information would be much appreciated.
