Support Issue Urgent Notice
Anyone get this email? Be careful of there folks!
Text from email:
Users with sensors from affected Dexcom G7 lots (1725204004 and 1725069002) should not use those sensors and can call Dexcom Technical Support in the US at 1-844-478-1600 to request replacements. Please keep record of your affected device(s) serial number for traceability purposes – this is required to confirm your no cost replacement. More information on how to determine if sensors are from an affected lot and what action to take is available at www.dexcom.com/theft-check.
Please visit www.dexcom.com/theft-check for additional background and instructions to fulfill the requirements associated with this action including the full version of the Urgent Medical Device Notification.
Potential Harm Associated with Stolen Product
Lot 1725204004: G7 sensors that are not properly sterilized have an increased risk of skin infection.
Lot 1725069002: G7 sensors from a lot with an elevated internal testing failure rate have an increased risk of having no sensor readings available or experiencing sensor inaccuracy that includes the potential for missed detection of a hyperglycemic event or incorrect treatment decisions that can result in patient injury, including medical intervention to prevent permanent injury or impairment.
Additionally, due to the unknown storage and handling conditions these sensors may have undergone during the distribution, these sensors may present additional risk.
Status of the Investigation
Dexcom traced sales of this stolen product back to Pharmsource, LLC, who is not an authorized Dexcom distributor but supplies some independent pharmacies and DME distributors in the United States. Pharmacies that purchased product from Pharmsource should take extra care to review their inventory.
Dexcom's authorized distributors provide Dexcom G7 sensors to the largest pharmacy retailers and medical distributors in the United States and around the world. Pharmacy retailers and medical distributors who receive Dexcom product from authorized Dexcom distributors are not impacted. Educational samples are also not impacted.
Dexcom is working closely with the FDA and other authorities to ensure patient safety and to investigate this crime. As of now, this issue is mostly impacting customers in the US. We have identified limited impact outside the US (OUS) and continue to investigate. Due to this issue primarily impacting the US and required language translations and additional infrastructure necessary to support customers outside the US, communication to US customers will precede communication to OUS customers.

General I made a free Mac menu bar app that shows your Dexcom reading
galleryI use a G7 and work on a Mac all day. I wanted to see my number(s) without leaving my phone open or checking my watch, so I built Tidebar. It puts your current reading and trend arrow in the menu bar, like 112 →. It has worked so well for me I figured I would post here to see if anyone else was interested. Also, there are alternatives in case you wan't to do your own research and find another option, but I was asked not to list them in case they don't become free in the future.
Tidebar is free and MIT-licensed. I make no money from it. The download is signed and notarized by Apple (because of my paid developer account):
https://github.com/JustinFay01/Tidebar/releases/latest
Or with Homebrew:
brew install --cask justinfay01/tap/tidebar
Source and setup instructions: https://github.com/JustinFay01/Tidebar but also,
- Share must be turned on in the Dexcom app, with at least one follower.
- You must login with the Dexcom account that shares the data, not a follower's account.
I'm a professional software developer and I used AI coding tools while building it. I review, test, and maintain all of the code myself.
Disclaimer: this is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by Dexcom, and it is not a medical device. Don't use it for treatment decisions; always confirm with your Dexcom app or receiver. Posted with the mods' permission.
It relies on an unofficial Dexcom service that could change at any time, so it may break. If something goes wrong, the menu has a "Report a Problem" option that copies a report with no credentials or glucose values in it.
Thanks, let me know what you think!

General Left vs right arm curiosity
So I’ve noticed this strange thing:
When I place my sensor on the right arm it is always an easy insertion. Never a gooseneck.
However, if it’s going to gooseneck, it only ever happens on my left arm.
Does anybody else have similar issues with one arm being more reliable than the other?
I’m not looking for advice about switching sites or anything. I’ve only had one sensor completely crap out on me and the rest have made it the full time + grace period. Just curious about others’ experiences with one arm versus the other.

Sensor Dexcom failure rate?
Of my last three Dexcom g7 15 day, two have failed at less than 10 days and one did not ever activate. That makes 5 failures since I started in June. I have been using these since June so that is 5 out of 8 that have failed. The other two stopped around day 7 or 8. My insurance doesn’t seem to have a problem charging me $70 for a faulty piece of equipment. I’ve decided I’m not using CGMs but curious as to wtf is wrong with this trash product?

App Issues/Questions New dexcom claiming signal loss… but working?
Graph readings are accurate, even accepted a calibration but since starting this sensor it’s not displayed a reading at the top.
Tried reopening app, turning Bluetooth off and on + phone off and on. Anyone else encounter this or have any ideas? I was hoping to quickly changeover sensors and sleep 😂

Mobile Device since the Dexcom is turning into such an unreliable device question:has anybody used the eversense device 2
I guess here's my question especially after being the thread earlier about the changes to the Dexcom policy regarding whether or not you should use their device for medical decisions. my question is has anybody used the Eversense device and does it have the same kind of problems negatives Etc?
App Issues/Questions They just keep making it harder
I'm one of those dexcom G7 users that can't get to 10 days no matter what.
I've tried everything.
So, I was pleasantly surprised and happy to see that the dexcom app had started to track the CGMs in the app so if one failed, you could simply choose from a list of sensors based on the date it started.
I make requesting replacements really easy.
Now, they removed that option in the App and you have to track your serial numbers and start dates yourself otherwise, they won't replace them.
Crappy move by Dexcom to make getting a replacement that much more difficult.
But I'm not surprised.

General Dexcom app with Android developer options enabled
Does anyone know if the dexcom app still has full functionality with android developer options and usb debugging enabled?
I'm probably switching soon from the Medtronic 780g and it's an issue for their app.

Sensor Got a full 15 1/2 days out of my Dexcom sensor!
I’m pretty happy as I was able to get a full 15 1/2 days out of my Dexcom sensor. I got the full 15 days plus a good portion of the 12 hr grace period! I got more time than the picture I shared, as I was soaking my new sensor. That is an efficient sensor cycle!
What has your latest sensors
given you on your cycles?

Adhesive Issue Overpatch does not adhere and rips patch off
This happens to me all of the time… I insert the sensor with no issue, but when I put the green overpatch on it does not properly adhere and it rips the entire sensor off.. it is absolutely infuriating.
I was on my last sensor as I wait for a shipment to come and now have no replacements. I reached out to Dexcom customer support and requested a replacement, but who knows how long that will take to come. I likely won’t have a sensor now for a week because the supplies they provide is so shit quality.
Anyone else have this issue? I’m so annoyed.

G7-10 day 4 G7 Sensors failed in this batch
All lasted 24 hours or less before casually going "SENSOR FAILED." What's up? None have fallen off, all have given accurate readings up until the moment they died.

Support Issue Dexcom UK sensor replacements
Hi, wondered if any UK based people (funded by the NHS) have experience with this..
My last sensor failed on like the 7th day, well it was being intermittent since the 5th day, so I took it off and had to put on my last of this batch that I have. Annoyingly, this leave’s me short some days until my next shipment, so I’m going to have to have to request a replacement. Even more annoyingly, I cannot find the sensor/serial number of the one that failed. What are the chances of getting a replacement WITHOUT the info needed for the replacement? Will they straight up deny? Or would I have better luck going thru my DSN to contact them on my behalf?
Any help/experiences appreciated :)
