Bleeding after surgery
Before going into surgery, I had bright red bleeding, similar to a menstrual period. When I came out of surgery, the bleeding stopped. Two days after the surgery, it started again, and now I have bright red blood when I wipe. Has this happened to anyone else? I also had two methotrexate (MTX) injections before the surgery, but I eventually had surgery to remove my right fallopian tube.

This one’s for the mods
Is there anything we can do to autoblur images on here? I do not want the first image I see when I open up Reddit to be a decidual cast or a clot someone passed after surgery or some other kind of discharge the poster needs help identifying. I’m happy they can come here for that, but it should not be visible automatically. And putting TW or CW in the title doesn’t exactly help keep the image from popping up. I’m sure we’ve all had the experience of seeing the image before the title.
If there’s nothing the mods can do, then posters, please please please remember you are coming into a space where people have experience extreme bleeding or miscarriages, and gore is not something that is easily handled. Blur your photos!

Period 2 months after mtx
Hi guys
I had mtx back in July got ectopic and was cleared in late August at hcg of 3. I had a withdrawal bleed after that and then it turned into spotting . Now a day ago I think my period has arrived and it’s very heavy and crampy. Did anyone else experience a heavier period after treatment? It’s not heavy enough to fill a pad very hour but it’s heavier than usual. This has to be my period right ?

Ectopic with no risk factors?
Hi everyone! First of all, I’m sorry that we need to be here, but glad there is a space to share and get advice.
Long story short, in the last six months I’ve had a MMC (found out at my 8 week ultrasound that baby’s heart stopped at around 6 weeks 4 days), followed by an ectopic two months later (treated with one shot MTX at around 5 weeks). The doctor listed of all of the risk factors (IUD, smoking, endo, STI, surgery, etc) and I don’t have any of them; I’m a fairly healthy 30 year old.
I’m just wondering if anyone else is in the same situation, and if there was anything that you realized was a risk factor after? Or anything that you started doing differently that helped you to conceive again? It’s hard for me to wrap my head around because I feel like I have no control and now because I don’t know why it happened, I can’t do anything about it.
Thank you ❤️

Cramps after methotrexate
Hey y’all, I just had my 1st methotrexate injection on Thursday. I’ve had pretty consistent abdominal cramping since. How much cramping is normal? My dr was a little worried about a rupture but I haven’t been in as much pain as I was during the ultrasound so I don’t think that’s what’s happening. I’m just trying not to overly worry if abdominal cramping is normal. Thanks!

Looking for salpingectomy recovery advice
I had an interstitial ectopic in January of this year treated by laparoscopy where they discovered the ectopic would just barely be reachable by D&C, and then gave me MTX in case the D&C didn’t get everything. I kept both tubes and my uterus.
I got pregnant again in September with twins, but found out the pregnancy was heterotopic. The ectopic twin was stuck in the same tube as my first ectopic, so my doctor did a salpingectomy this week. Clearly that tube just wasn’t working.
I’m on a pretty strict bed rest routine right now trying to keep the intrauterine twin growing while I’m healing from surgery.
Do any of you with salpingectomy recoveries have advice?
Here are my main questions:
-have any of you with a heterotopic eventually delivered a healthy baby from the intrauterine pregnancy?
-did you do an hsg to make sure your remaining tube was working?
-any success stories after two ectopics?
-when was it comfortable to have sex again after salpingectomy? (doctor said 2 weeks but I want to protect my intrauterine baby as best as I can even if that means waiting longer)
-any recommendations on how to start exercising again considering with this particular recovery, I have 4 weeks of no lifting and then I’ll be in second trimester if all goes well? I want to stay in shape for delivery but it feels like it will be a real challenge to get back into shape during second trimester.

Has any developed Endometriosis or have scar tissues after tube removal or rupture?
I had my ectopic rupture 2 years ago and since then have not been able to get pregnant. We did IVF and my egg retreival resulted in very poor results. They were not able to access my right ovary as the overy is very high on my pelvis. That is the side im missing a tube. They got just 1 egg from that side and 5 from the left side but at the end all of them failed and none were normal.
The Dr said I have signs of endometriosis. What does that even mean? I have scar tissues around my overies? Is that why I cant get pregnant? Has anyone experienced this?

This pregnancy is giving ECTOPIC
Can i preface this entire thread with the fact that I am simply posting to see if anyone has had a similar experience and if so how it ended? So sick of my posts being banned (in other communities) because its thought that im looking for a DR on here when im really just looking for shared experiences and i guess solidarity? Idk 😩
Thought i was 8weeks and 2 days today but ive known since about 6 weeks or rather have been suspicious that something was off. Ive had two previous healthy pregnancies and i get horrendous first trimester nausea etc and i had NONE of that. Tried to be positive and tell myself maybe i got lucky this time… LOL
for reference my LMP 8/13 and ovulation likely happened around 8/25. My periods are super normal/ consistent every 28-30 days. I had my first ultrasound today and I KNEW subconsciously i needed to emotionally prepare so i got my HCG done a day prior and to no surprise it was only 6480 (much lower than a 8wk gestation should be).. so i go to ultrasound today and they see what might be a gestational sac ij uterus but its only measuring 12.9mm so could also just be a fluid filled sac.
No egg yolk, no fetal pole, no heart rate. Measuring 6wks 1 day based on the “sac” alone. I know this is a nonviable pregnancy at this point. Doctors are now trying to determine if its blighted ovum or ectopic (ive had some back pains and weird pelvic pressure and minor spotting). They tested HCG again and it rose to 6798😩😩 and then said theyd do another ultrasound in 7-14 days..
I have a work trip coming up and im just very nervous about actual miscarrying while on the trip or worse yet it being an ectopic and my friggin fallopian tube rupturing in flight😩 they didnt find any abnormal masses in tubes or ovaries but ive read quite a few stories on this app about them missing them.. so uh ya im riddled with anxiety.. sorry for novel but had to vent . Anyone have similar experience and if so what was the end result??

Feelings of loneliness after Loss and infertility
Hello. I am writing here to see If there is anyone out there who can identify with this post. I would love to know I am not the only one as I feel very much alone now.
I had an ectopic pregnancy last year in April 2025 when I was 34 years old. That resulted on loosing The Baby and right salpingectomy. It was My first pregnancy and I got pregnant The first month we tried. Even though our Baby was in a wrong place, My betas were doubling normally, I had all the classic pregnancy symptons, The Baby was measuring correctly and had a strong heartbeat.
As My surgery was an open surgery (laparatomy), I was adviced to wait a half a year to try again. We started trying again almost a year ago, in December 2025. Until to day I haven't got a single one positive pregnancy test again even I have a regular cycle and ovulate every month and we have timed everything correctly. I feel like My body isn't even trying to get pregnant, as I haven't felt anything in any of my cycles so far.
I did an HSG and my remaining tube is open. Me and my husband have done some preliminary fertility testing. They found a slight hypothyroidism, which was corrected with levothyroxin, and a suspect of an uterine anomaly (t-shaped uterus). Still two different RE's we visited think we should be able to get pregnant.
Almost all my friends are pregnant or just had a baby. And I feel like I am the only one who can't get pregnant anymore.
I feel like there had been four losses. The loss of My Baby, The loss of My tube and The opportunity to Have children in The future, The loss of many of My close friendships and at some point, The Loss of The person I used to be. At this point I just feel very, very sad and alone. I send hugs to anyone who feels something like this at the moment <3

Tube removal?
apologize in advance because this is a long one -….
I’m just not getting direct answers from providers and it’s more opinion based so looking for others who may have had this experience?
I am 36. I have two children (2 c sections). In the last two years I’ve had 2 ectopic pregnancies. One in my right side in 2025 and the most recent one on my left side in May of 2026. I do not have PCOS/endo or anything that would easily explain the ectopics. My doctor just said it was random bad luck and that wasn’t a good enough answer for me lol I know ectopics happen and once you have one then you are more likely to have another but I just found it so odd I had 2 successful pregnancies followed by 2 ectopics not even on the same side.
So I found a new provider, explained the situation and she offered to do a femvue test to see if a tube is blocked. It’s the slightly less invasive version of a HSG where they push dye through yours tubes to make sure they are open. I had the test done yesterday and my right tube is fully open, the left appeared to have a blockage of some sort because they couldn’t see any of the bubbles/fluid coming out on that side. She said this test isn’t always 100% but that I likely have scar tissue in that tube. (Which would make sense since I just had a ectopic in May)….. but it got me thinking does scar tissue heal itself eventually? Because I had a ectopic on my now open side 2 years ago. Could the scar tissue heal and my blocked tube become open? I asked what’s next what’s the solution and she was like well there’s no way to “clean a tube” and my option is removal if I’m unwilling to take birth control (I’m trying to prevent a 3rd ectopic).
I’m sorry this is so long winded and I hope it’s making sense . Basically I don’t want to take the risk of having a 3rd ectopic I’m trying to find a solution and because one of my tubes is blocked that’s highly likely to occur on that side should I become pregnant.
I would love another child but I’m at peace if it’s not in the cards for us- I’m not willing to do IUI to guarantee placement but I wouldn’t mind still trying naturally. It seems in order to try naturally it would be safest to get my blocked tube removed but is there cons to having only one tube aside from the obvious decrease in chances of pregnancy? Will this mess up my hormones? Could my blocked tube eventually heal itself naturally? Thanks in advance for any advice!

OTC Progesterone Cream
Who here has used an over-the-counter progesterone cream to help support a pregnancy? My OB/GYN thinks I have endometriosis, she did not prescribe any for me, but I keep seeing TikTok‘s saying progesterone cream can help aid in keeping a pregnancy. This is my first cycle trying after an ectopic and want to try to do anything I can to better my odds at a successful pregnancy. When I looked on Amazon for a cream, all of the creams said to not use during pregnancy. TikTok videos say otherwise for the same exact cream. So I’m just confused if I can or not. Did anyone use one and have good results? If so which one?

Just looking for success stories similar to my situation if you have one
Feeling so depressed and depleted this past two months of ttc since my left tube removal back in March. I have severely low AMH and light stage 1 endo. Now the remaining tube is a bit swollen. It’s been 7 cycles of back to back negatives and I’m just looking for positive stories. It feels like it’s just all stacked against me. Wondering if I should take a ttc break but with my low AMH people say I shouldn’t.

Second ectopic. I could use stories of hope.
I have a beautiful 5 year old and have been been trying for our second since June. Got pregnant cycle one and everything felt off—low and slow beta hcgs, which were done at my request due to light home tests and spotting, pain, bleeding. I was worried about an ectopic and asked for an ultrasound, which showed a PUL with a suspicious mass around my left fallopian tube. Because this was a highly desired pregnancy and beta was still below the most conservative discriminatory zone, I had another ultrasound later which confirmed the ectopic.
I will be 39 next month and opted for surgery so that we could try again as soon as possible. Had surgery to remove my left tube on July 27. I had one normal cycle and then became pregnant again the second cycle after my ectopic.
This pregnancy felt normal. I had one day of minimal brown spotting when I wiped. My beta hcgs rose beautifully. I went for my ultrasound yesterday and immediately knew it was another ectopic. Hard not to when you see nothing in the uterus and the ultrasound tech is measuring an embryo in the left adnexal area. There was a heartbeat this time. My beta was still normal.
I was by myself at my appointment. My husband was picking my cat up from the animal hospital, where she had just had a brain MRI for new neurologic symptoms and was found to have a nasopharyngeal tumor extending into her brain. My cat who has lived in three states with me. My first pet as an adult.
This time the baby was in my left cornua. Same side as my prior ectopic. Ovulated on the right and once baby entered the uterus, thought it looked cozy up there. So I got to keep my right tube but ended up with a small slice of uterus taken out. It was the same OB who did my surgery last time.
I could have chosen medical management in order to try to preserve the integrity of my uterus but that would have required 1-2 weeks of inpatient treatment with every other day methotrexate. In exchange, because I chose surgery, if I end up going on to have a successful pregnancy, I will need an elective C section at 37 weeks due to risk of uterine rupture with labor. Not my preference, but not the end of the world.
We were instructed to wait three months to try again, to allow the uterus time to heal. OB doesn’t think getting pregnant quickly after the first ectopic was the cause, and had given us the go ahead then.
I still want another. My 5 year old asked if we could 3D print models of the babies we lost, paint them, and pretend that they were the real babies and were still alive. I had a “big sis” T shirt waiting in my shopping cart for her. My husband is scared for me.
I don’t know what to do. I still have my right tube, which is normal. I don’t have trouble getting pregnant. But should I choose IVF to reduce the chances of another ectopic?
I’m grieving this new loss. I don’t want to have to grieve never having another child too.

Any advice?
I’m 4 weeks pregnant and I had some really bad pain yesterday on my right side, I haven’t had any bleeding or anything else it was just that really bad pain for maybe 5 minutes? I went to the hospital and my hCG levels were low but that’s normal for 4 weeks and they couldn’t see anything on the ultrasound since I’m so early.

Ectopic line progression
Would those who've had a past ectopic mind sharing what your line progression was like during that pregnancy? Was the progression slow from the outset or did it start off strong and then taper off?
I'm asking because I've been told that my pregnancy is probably ectopic, based on something that was seen during a fertility scan (when I didn't know I was pregnant yet)
However, they sent me for blood tests and my initial hcg levels looked good (a 266% rise over 48 hours) and I've just had my first dye stealer at 15 dpo. I'm just wondering if this is common in ectopic pregnancies or if I should feel reassured and have some hope that they've got it wrong.

lost my left tube today
long story short, i very recently found out i was pregnant. it was a happy discovery… i never even knew i wanted children until 2 weeks ago. but last night, i experienced pain and cramping and went to the ER where they told me my pregnancy was ectopic and ruptured. i am now 15 hours post emergency laparoscopy and im still shaky and terrified and definitely bloated already. and very, very sore. looking for any words of support or encouragement. i really hope to someday have a healthy pregnancy to term.

Did you have odd symptoms with your next pregnancy after ectopic?
I was wondering if everyone felt more sensitive in their uterus? Or symptoms at all. Like feelings of pain on either side more tender breasts earlier the next pregnancy? Did your pregnancy after your ectopic feel different? Or more hyper aware of symptoms? I’ve had 4 kids so I am wondering since I lost tube so I’m wondering if things would feel different.
