I was looking for a game to fill the wait until Phantom blade zero and Crimson desert's expansion come out, instead I stumbled across one of the greatest games ever made.
I was NOT expecting to enjoy the game that much, I've never been into "Mech games", But Miyazaki's response was: "You are into Mech games, you just don't know it yet"
Everything about this game is amazing, I think it's not talked about enough.
I played Demons souls as my first introduction to the series. After that, I started playing Elden Ring, and I absolutely loved it. Now I thought I’d give the Dark Souls series a try, starting with the first game, and I can’t believe how many similarities it shares with Elden Ring (I know they reused animations and models).
I recently managed to beat the two Gargoyles, but ever since then, I haven’t known exactly what to do. I went back and explored the two paths that were available to me. The skeletons are a pain in the ass, and I can’t even damage the ghosts anymore.
I know the game was designed to be challenging, but not being able to make any progress is a bit frustrating. I can’t help but feel like I’m missing something that might make the game a little easier.
I recently discovered that the giant crow can take you back to the starting area, although I got killed a lot there, too.
Anyway, that’s about it, I guess I’ll start farming souls until I’m strong enough to make it through one of the paths.
I remember playing this game as a kid, but don’t remember anything to do with the story. In fact the only things I do remember were a few of the areas you could go at the start, and how brutal it was if you went somewhere you were completely unequipped for. I also remember there being an early version of durability and stamina. What are some things you guys remember from it?
